I'm so hoping, probably needlessly, that somehow Christine did the right thing and did send it yesterday. While I know DCL probably won't have receive it yet, I really can't wait untilyou can report that DCL has proof you are paid in full.

Once your TA is out of the picture, I think the title lyrics to "Who's Cryin' Now" would work as a theme song for your trials.

Have you checked out your ressie on dcl's website today? Its still listed there I hope. Did you touch base w/dcl today to let them know "check is in the mail" and confirm they haven't/won't cancel? Now, this guy already told you once that the check was in the mail. Why should we believe that Christine actually mailed it when she won't give out the dhl tracking #? What was their reasoning for refusing to do that? And, did they give you a reason for not having the payment there in dcl's hands by the deadline?
 
I have to wonder if this won't get thrown out as OPs fault. The TA never charged a $750 payment, so technically the cruise was never paid in full... no matter who was at fault. They could now turn around and say THAT was what they were waiting for, and are not at fault for their payment being late. Just a thought...:confused3

Just saying that the TA is a real weasel, and that type of person generally seeks to throw blame elsewhere.

Is there anything you can do? I know I said I would be sueing. However I suspect that this man doesn't have much to take. He owes you big time. I would think at least the cost to take another cruise or two. Is DCL saying anything about what your options are if this TA has not sent your money? This just isn't right. Lois

If the travel agent can't or won't produce the money, I would think DCL would have to cancel the reservation at some point, wouldn't they?

They said that a couple of days after the payment was due they would make a collection type call to the TA.

Is there any way DCL would allow you to pay the balance due by credit card now and then credit you when they receive the payment from the travel agency?

DCL barely talks to me because I have a TA, I'm positive they won't take a payment from me.

Nothing...... I've been keeping track of this thread, several times a day, since day one. :surfweb:

I've only used a TA a couple of times, for personal travel (several years ago), and luckily never had a problem. However...... this fiasco has convinced me to continue to do everything on my own, unless the travel provider will not work directly with me.

Tom..... I do admire you for your sense of humor at this point. I really hope this all works out for you. I can't wait to read your trip report!
