On your way some place "special"? ;)

Great to know! I always seem to miss spots shaving, and I was wondering about trying it for my upcoming wedding. Looks like I'll have to try it soon!

I was wondering if it would work well. I'll have to try it.

Is it like Nair? Does it smell?

I've wanted to try it, but I'm also afraid it's like Nair. Once when I used Nair I had a horrible chemical burn. Then like a dolt I decided after a couple years... hey it wasn't that bad. And I Nair'ed again a couple times without incident. The day before I left for my wedding - worse chemical burns than the first time! Seeping bloody legs for a week!!!! (It was a sign, but see previous "dolt" comment.)

So.... is this Veet stuff better than Nair? I hope so, because it's been on clearance at Target.

I haven't tried Nair, I instead went with Veet using the time-honored tradition of quizzically standing in the aisle at CVS and saying to myself, "the Veet is $8.49, the Nair is $8.59, the Veet it is then." And then my CVS Bonus Bucks coupon knocked that down to $5.99.

I got the "Floral Sensation" scent. It smells like daisies dipped in nail polish remover. I wouldn't say it was horrible, but these people should be seriously reconsidering "Floral Sensation" as a name ... I think not.

I have my calves propped up on the ottoman with my laptop on my lap, and the light is reflecting off my calves just perfect. I am now a convert to "Veet."

Hey Dana - long time no internet see! Guess I'll try Veet. Heading up to your old stomping grounds for lunch next week, can't wait to see what has changed.

If I could be so bold as to ask a not-so-lovely question: How long does the "growth" have to be in order for Veet to work properly? 'Cause that's the only thing I hate about using wax-- the in-between grow time! EWWW!

Hey Kallison, I'm getting married there in January ... reception @ the Nassau Inn - I just can't seem to tear myself away ... :)

luvmyboys - I think I had maybe three days' worth. Speaking in terms of the way it works, I can't imagine that the hair has to be any longer than that.

Weird that you would mention it, my DD and I were just discussing Veet tonight. We want to try it. I wonder how long it lasts?

I'm thinking that if it lasts more than a day or two longer than shaving, I might switch permanently, though it is definitely messier than shaving. Still, though, I am enthralled by the results.

I may just have to try it! i wondered if it actually worked without burning your skin off! ;)

Good to know it works! Ive also always wanted to try it. Thanks!

I love the stuff... did you use the cream or the aerosol. I like the thicker cream better than the aerosol. The thicker cream has a better faux razor as well.

If you used the aerosol, the thicker cream is much better. It is easier to apply and the wait time to rub off it quicker. The aerosol is 6 minutes and the cream is 3 minutes.

I found the thicker cream at Target for $4.99 (and more ounces than the aerosol)

I used Veet with the faux razor (or bladeless razor if you will). I was happy with the results, but let me clarify a few things:

1. It is exactly like Nair, complete with the unpleasant stench. The foam itslef has a distinct chemically stink, and once the hair starts "melting" (which is essentially what the chemical does) boy does it stink.

2. It is labor intensive and time consuming. You CANNOT leave the foam on for more than, I believe, 6 minutes max, though you can start scraping it off after 3 minutes. So you can only lather up one leg at a time and generally once section (say below the knee) at a time.

3. It's wicked messy.

4. The stink stays with your for a few hours after...even after showering, and it makes your hands feel weird (though I washed them immediately after applying it to my legs).

5. Watch out for unpleasant reactions to the lather. My legs itched badly and I don't normally have any reaction to any chemical. IOW, try it in a small DISCREET location before using it on your whole leg!

6. One can was only enough to do both of my legs ONE time. I'm 5' 7 1/2"

The good:

1. The Stuff WORKS!

2. It lasted about 4-5 days before I noticed any stubble.

3. It did leave a distinct "silkiness" to my skin, but I suspect that it's because anything strong enough to melt hair was probably burning off a layer of skin and leaving a whole new fresh layer behind!

4. No razor cuts or bumps.
