As you know, I had a goal of 25 pounds by next Friday (5/23) before my big family camping trip. I really believed it was an easy goal at the time. It looks like I am not going to make it. :( I had been at a 20 pound loss for a week and finally weighed in at a loss of 21 this morning. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I need to look at it and make some changes (suggestions??). It could be that I'm not eating enough or eating too much cheese. I already know I'm not getting enough exercise.

So, with 7 days to go and 4 pounds left until goal, I am just going to get over it and set some new goals. :)

What a good attitude to have.

The big news here is that you have lost 21. 21 whole pounds.

WAY TO GO

Have a fantastic holiday!

What?! 21 pounds is great. And they say that the slower you lose, the more likely the pounds will stay off.

Congrats!

How about you work out even more, keep as close to zero carbs as possible and don't worry about changing your goal for 7 days?

You have a whole week left, it is way to early to be changing your goals.

I'll bet you haven't measured yourself yet either, am I right?

Do you know for sure that you aren't as small after losing 21 pounds on Atkins as you would have been losing 25 pounds on another plan?

Your goal, Miss Kelsie, has nothing to do with a number on a scale. Your goal is all about being smaller and if you had measured yourself, you would be able to tell how much smaller you are.

You know you don't really care what the scale says, all you really care about is the size you wear. You want to be smaller, Kels, getting lighter doesn't always accomplish that.

Okay, you sound a little down. I'm sorry you are feeling disappointed but you've got that horse walking behind the cart again, you're on the other side of the bridge and you haven't even reached it yet. You have one whole week to reach your goal. At the end of that week, if you haven't done as well as you intended to do, then change your goal. That's not failure, that is determination and that is smart.

So, stand up straight. Put a smile on that sweet face of yours...Kelsie that isn't a smile and you know it....now smile...*sigh* I suppose that will have to do.

Okay, you can do this. You know you can do this. Focus on your final goal not on a timeline and you will be much happier and much more successful than you have already been. It's a little hard to imagine you being even more successful, isn't it? You have been so successful already :)

WOW! Kath - you're inspiring! Hang in there Kelsie. I'm new to this, so don't have any suggestions.

LOL Kath! I knew you would tell me to keep trying to make it. I'm not giving up but at the rate I've slowed down, I just need to prepare myself in case I don't make it.

Please don't get me wrong, I am very happy with the 21 pounds. It's just difficult when you don't have a loss for over a week, to stay motivated. I even had a small 'cheat' on Sunday and didn't come crying here LOL! Now, that's progress.

Thanks for the encouragement guy's :)

Good for you, Kelsie!!! There is nothing wrong with changing a goal date. You know you can reach the goal no matter what, and that is what counts! :)

What about doing the Alex challenge again? Maybe just cut back on the cheese a little (although I'm a cheese loving mouse in a human body just like you!)

Woo-hoo!!!! You are sticking with it, Kelsie, and you are doing a great job! Even if it's little by little, you will still lose and be a WINNER in the end!!!!

Wow, you have gotten some great advice here!!! I echo the sentiments that maybe the #'s don't show on the scale, but you are losing inches??? Keep going for the goal, after next Friday, then and only then decide on the NEXT goal, not a NEW goal!!! I am very proud of you, you had some tough times, and you hung in there and didn't let it alter your decision to get fit! WAY TO GO! Celebrate your accomplishments, you deserve it!

That's something to celebrate!!! Now if I were you I'd take Katholyn's advice- kick up the exercise, increase the water and lose 1-2 pounds this week- that way when you go camping- and I'm sure put in lots of hiking (hint hint! :)) you won't gain any weight and can eat whatever you like!! Reward yourself with a great trip and don't worry about the pounds- you have 358 days a year to work on those!!!

Have a great one!!!

Kelsie, I can so relate. I made a mini-goal with myself to lose 2 lbs. a week for a total of 14 more before vacation. Right now I should have lost 8 lbs. but I've lost 7. So of course the first thing I thought was next week I'll have to lose 3 to get caught up. But you're an inspiration to not fall into the trap of thinking that way and just do the best I can. I hope you have a wonderful vacation! You deserve it!!! :D

Kelsie, 21 pounds is awesome!! :):) I agree, take Kath's advice and you will be fine!! :)

Hugs!
