So I got it checked out...

Well, Im going to the doctors first, but something tells me that they are going to send me to a hospital for x-rays and then they will take forever with the x-rays, and then take even longer getting them back to me, and..it will be just like the last time i was at the hospital and smeared chocolate all over the nurse xD

haha, i think I ment doctor xD
oops xD

i got my wisdom teeth removed yesterday and i guess my head is still messed up :rotfl:

Aww its okay chipmunk;) ...i mean Melissa *that is your name right? Im trying to remember from..well..my memory*

It WASNT a growing pain!!

Im glad I got it checked out.
http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/patellofemoral-pain-syndrome-topic-overview

This is what I have.
Except I have Patellofemoral Tracking issues.

Like...my knee cap isnt alligned up with my femur bone.
Thus causing discomfort.

This was really important to get checked out because I am going to be a marcher next year and that will be painful.

:)
Check the webbie out Hilary you might be expiriencing the same thing I am, and the treatment is very simple.

its good that you went to the doctor. and i hope your knee heals fast.
did you ever find out why you were losing so much weight?

Yes,
Im pretty sure its because i stopped taking my slowfe pills.

Which iron...is pretty important to your body, and im anemic, so i need those pills, and i stopped taking them thinking i had enough iron, but i think its going to have to be a daily thing.

i myself, have very very bad knees.

i have to wear a brace on my right and i should have one for my left since thats even worse :/

oh well...its fine. but i also can't stand up without help.

haha oh well! and p.s. im back!

Good you got it checked out:thumbsup2

at least its nothing totally serious:)

Upon reading up on that, i have a feeling that could be my issue:rotfl:

my knee likes to buckle sometimes, and it also seems to enjoy popping and grinding ( god it sounds like it enjoys dancing:rolleyes: )

but its not an issue in general, just twinges and slight discomfort, no where near as bad as what you were experiencinggg:)

hope you feel better!

Probably 3.
Sometimes I don't notice it until after a while because my feet hurt a lot from standing all day from work heh.

Usually, it's like... throbbing pain? I wish they hurt right now so I could explain. It feels like I've never unbent my knees. And sometimes when I'm walking my knee... I dunno it makes a popping feeling and then I'm walking kinda strange.

Me too! That's what happens with my knee all the time!

Knee pain is VERY common. This was incredibly foolish of me, but I remember thinking "Oh how I wish I had a knee injury". I thought it was cool how everyone had a knee brace.

 Yeah, that ended well. I got a knee injury, that invovled knee replacements and rods.

I actually have knee cap pain now. But I think that's from not using it for so long. Now when I put too much pressure on my knee cap it hurts big time. Like PT excerises where I straighten my leg and lift up and down with weights, OWWIE!
Actually, the only real thing in my knee is my knee cap! LOL

I can totally see myself comparing with other women -

lady 1 - Oh, I have a fake nose.
lady 2 - Oh yeah, isn't it great? I have fake *****.
me - Yeah? Well I gotta fake knee!

:lmao:

I have a doctors appointment mid September.
I might ask about it.
Might seem random as I'm going in to get a new prescription of bc xD

Read the websight I posted.

I know it sounds crazy, but a lot of the stuff you posted sounds like what I have.

Yes, I read it.
Most of it does go with what I have, minus the walking down stairs.
Walking down stairs is easy peasy for me.
It's the going up that hurts.

Okie dokie.

Sorry to nag you about it, but just curious.

Me too. It's been bothering me for over a year. I went to a doctor once and they told me it was nothing. But it's really been hurting lately.

You dont have to have the going down stairs stuff.

I just have going up stairs and thats what the Doctors Told me.

Seriously, I find it funny that we are all chicks posting on this topic.

Try some of the excersizes.

Its usually caused because your inner thigh muscle isn't as developed as the rest.

I know it sounds crazy like "Well..I walk..i exercise i do blahblahblahblah".
So do I, but since we are female, we have hips, since we have hips, our legs tent to turn inward which causes your kneecap to rub in places it shouldn't.

So..
To help that, do a bunch of stretches.

Like..

Sit down, with your leg stretched out and reach for your toes (flex your toes wile doing it)

AND/OR,

Standing *you should hold onto a nearby wall so you dont lose balance* Take your foot, and bending at the knee put your foot up to your hip, hold for 15 seconds then relax, then do the other foot.

Also sitting down, putting weights on your ankle, and then lifting up your leg works beautifully *no more then 2 pounds to start, then work your way up to 5 pounds*

Also, putting it in a brace *like..an Ace bandage, is supposed to help a LOT.*

:)

Thats whats weird to me. I'm a dancer, my legs naturally turn out really far. The stretches u said are normal stretches I do on a daily basis. I gues I'll start using ankle weights. Thxs for the that info! How does an ace bandage wrapped around the knee help?

Well.

It tries to hold your kneecap in place.

Im not trying to say "THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU HAVE!" but, i mean, your symptoms are very similar to what i have.

Its also called "runners knee".
