So, it was a last minute decision. I had to shell out money to keep our rental. Then more money for the event tickets. Since, we used our 1 day Universal tickets on Sept 25th. Not giving thought, that we could even make the event. But, I made the decision the day before to go. Thinking, I would get the life scared out of me. I talked the event up to my husband, so much. But, in the end. He did not think it was worth it.

Well, I have to say. It must be my age. Or the endless, horror movies I have seen. I must have become numb. As, I did not think the event was all that scary. However, I did hear people screaming, and I did see this man in front of me jump countless times, 3 ft in the air. But, it did not have the same effect on me.:confused3

I did like 2 houses the Reflections of Fear. When I had to go through that tunnel thing. That was fun.
And, this other house.

I thought it was the best house, in terms of "scare factor". It was very good!
Oh, and the jello shot was a bit tasty.

Oh, and I did not pay for the express pass. Nor, did I have stay, and scream tickets. But, when I got through the metal detectors I hightailed it to Reflections of Fear first. Notice the wait time.

I got through all the houses once, and did 2 rounds on the mummy. Before leaving at 11:20 p.m. All, and all. It was a fun time. But, I honestly think I could have skipped it.

i'm just the opposite
i'm totally and completely addicted to hhn.

i have never gone there to be scared .
to me, it is not scary (but a fantastic time to marvel in the creative teams ability to bring it all to life for the fans)

i love the creativity and decor that is there. the story lines and icons are what ropes me in!
i start the season by following the website and the clues that are presented.
i like how if forms the big picture once hhn opens in the park.

the first weekend or 2 always have less crowds. waits are not bad either during the beginning of the season.

i go the 3rd weekend of the event as all the bugs and glitches are usually worked out for the houses, zones. scripts even change and are fine tuned for the bill and ted's show by that time.
crowds form the week hell week begins.
that is when you will really see the waits.
except this year, the 3rd weekend did have horrible wait times in the lines for the houses for those without the ep.

the houses change in popularity all the time.
reflections is the only one that has been lagging this year.
the mary's don't do much in that house.
maybe when you went and the crowds were light, they had more action in there.

sorry it wasn't up to your expectations.
some people love hhn and some don't.

i'm in that first group....:rolleyes1

ITA! That's exactly how DH and I view HHN too. With a mother who took me to horror movies as a toddler, there ain't much that scares me. But I see HHN as an awesome display of Halloween-themed creativity and a chance for a little scream therapy (I always scream my head off in the houses). It's not for everyone, but I'm glad you checked it out and it sounds like at least you did have some fun.
