They were all booked so I had to settle on the Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. As you proably guessed it I'm not too upset. LOL I was booking the stay at the DLH to save points but now that they made me use them
I'm so excited! I'm a new member and this will be my first DVC stay. These points were the free points they gave us when we joined, which make it an even sweeter deal! I'm going with My Brother and family and we are meeting our sister there  It's so nice to be able to share this with them. My brother doesn't have much money and this is such a treat for him & my nephew. I looked on the disney webpage and the cost of the room for those 3 nights was 1,259.28 Whoo hooo :bounce: It feels good to share the wealth!

It's nice to get to take people that otherwise wouldn't get to go. We have taken my MIL twice now and 2 SILs once. I think you will love Grand Californian, it looks great.

When are you going? You'll have to report back on your trip and let us know how it goes.

It must feel great to get to share this with your family. We took my parents to WDW recently as a thank-you for all they do for us, and that one experience alone has made DVC worth it for me!

Hope you all have a wonderful time.

You will love the Grand Californian, it's worth every point! I've stayed at the Disneyland Hotel many times through the years and it holds some very special memories for us, but the Grand Californian is our favorite Disneyland Resort Hotel. It's just as nice as any of the WDW deluxe resorts, and the service is much better than it's Florida counterparts. Try the breakfast buffet at Storyteller's Cafe- the grilled asparagus and grilled breakfast sausages are fantastic! Whitewater Snacks has very good food also, especially the brownies and macaroons. You will also be adjacent to Downtown Disney and the restaurants there. Ralph Brennan's and HOB are two of our faves. The beignets at Ralph Brennan's taste just like the ones at Cafe du Monde in New Orleans, and the bread pudding is awesome at both restaurants. As you can tell, we love our desserts.

Thanks all. We wil be there July 16-19th,2006. After reading your posts I'm real glad the DLH was booked. Being this is our first DVC trip it should be the best! LOL

shantay1008 & mom2rb - your posts were so sweet they made me tear up. My brother and sister haven't seen each other in 7 years, This is going to be great!

Enjoy your trip.! We love the Grand Californian and traveling with extended family always makes the trip so much sweeter. We came back each night and enjoyed visiting with family in the lobby. They have quite a few sofas and chairs so everyone can get comfortable.

Grand Californian was my first use of points as a member. I consider them points well spent. I love that place.
