......Paul managed to break the iron whilst I was away.

This was great news as it meant I got to buy one of those new irons. I purchased a Tefal Steam generator and OK so it wasn't a cheap purchase but I have to tell you it's brilliant !!!!!!

I quite like ironing but this jsut makes it all too easy - I'm in ironing heaven :)

Anyone else got one ?

Sam

I enjoy my ironing too :) Sad isn't it?

How the plans for the wedding?? tell all....

You enjoy ironing? :earseek:

I'm seriously worried about you two............ ::yes::

You know those things that get wrinkles out of your clothes.:D

LOL Lorraine - are you one of those people that only buys clothes that don't need ironing ?

I'm sure I have clothes that don't need ironing but I iron them all the same ;)

I tend to do all my ironing watching Disney movies or other DVD's. I really do love it and find it most theraputic ........... do I need help then ?

I grew up in military family and we moved about every two years. My mother had a wicker basket full of clothes to iron. It made the move with us for years, full of clothes. I took a peak in it while I was in high school. There was stuff in there from the 60s, and one of those horrible dresses with net petticoats that my mother made me wear to church when I was little. .

I have not found a non-iron shirt that doesn't need ironing and goodness knows I buy enough of them!! I have three people in our house wearing shirts daily and no matter what wash I use, I always need to iron them!

I hate ironing. Matt does most of it. :teeth: My brother and a friend both have those whizzy irons - they tell me you just need to iron one side, which sounds great for things like sheets, but what about delicate items?

Well Deb - I ironed a part cashemere jumper the other day with it and also a silk/satin blouse - you just lower the temperature. Actually I start off ironing all the delicates first and then the wool and then the cotton and linens so I'm increasing the heat/steam as I go.

And yes it sure does iron both sides which is fabarooney for the sheets.

Now if anyone wants to offer me a job on one of the shopping channels ;) ;)

Not only do I have one of those Tefal Steam irons but I also have a wonderful husband who does all the ironing! Its great, I put all the clean dry clothes in a pile and Hey Presto within a couple of days it appears in my wardrobe all neatly pressed. Very occasionally I'll iron something but that steam generator is a bit scary with all its gurgling and massive shoots of steam, its like a sound/visual effect for dragons!

Anyway, for all you ladies asking how did I get my husband to do the ironing, it was easy. When we were first married, some 19 years ago, he complained about the standard of my ironing, I politely (well maybe not!) told him that if he didn't like the way I ironed then he knew what he could do about it! So he did, and he's done it ever since!

So, its on his behalf that I can tell you that these irons are brilliant and it has cut his ironing time down by a third.:D

Hi

Yes! - I've got one of these tefal 'magical' irons - it makes for an easy life and yes I do enjoy ironing - didn't before I had this iron though!

Helen:tongue:

 I think I'm going to get DH to read this page about how other men to the ironing.

I LOATHE ironing, my birthday pressie to myself last year was to send it all away to the ironing fairy - when it came back I couldn't stop grinning to myself (easily pleased me:p ).

Nice one, Sam - but please don't iron the wedding dress, just in case the iron decides to heat up:crazy:

LOL Annie I don't think I dare to even touch my wedding dress ;)

I now have a picutre of Darryl doing the ironing I wonder if this is indeed a premonition ;)
