So...how many of you did NOT book bounceback?

And NOT because you were not aware of the offer.

We booked but doubt we will keep the reservation. Unless a big miracle happens, the dates don't work for us. Too bad though.:sad2:

Anyone else with me?

i didn't because the dates wouldn't work. i was hoping for free dining in late august.
i didn't see anything about it while i was there.

What was your bounceback offer? What is it that they offer that makes it enticing?

And what are the travel date restrictions?

Sadly, we didn't book. Partly because the dates didn't work for us and partly because we're taking next year off.

We got the offer and didn't book, although we talked about it. If it was a FABULOUS deal we would have, but it wasn't really any different than what we've had the past couple of years, so we were willing to take our chances and wait. If it doesn't work out next year, oh well. Something else will work out, it always does.

the offer was for free dining. check in dates had to be between 8/30-08 and i believe 9/27/08.

Not sure who you're responding to, but if it's me - yes, I'm aware of what the offer was. That is the timeframe in which we normally go, we just didn't feel that it was urgent to book it a year in advance since that offer is given every year. If it isn't next year, we're okay with that, too.

If you weren't responding to me, sorry. Ignore this.:)

We didnt... If I started a week earlier I would have..... its just cutting it to close to the kids going back to school. Especially since I need 2 days to drive back home.

As I posted on another thread, even though we were aware of the bounceback, DSis and I did not book it. We had free dining last year, and we could have had it this year, too, but opted instead for the great AP rate for our room and mostly counter service meals instead, which saved us quite a bit.

The two main reasons we didn't book the bounceback during our stay this year was when we had free dining last year, we ate way too much (and wasted too much as well), and ADR's tied us to a stricter schedule with fewer opportunities for spontaniety.

Also, for us, affordability of a WDW trip is a big issue and it is more economical to book with a room discount and eat lighter meals (another plus being the lighter meals don't leave us feeling so stuffed). Don't get me wrong, most of the TS food was great and we have some real favorites, but in the future, we will likely stick with the room discounts and pick one or two TS restaurants during a stay.

No, did not take the offer. Knew about it, and called the # but since it is only for free dining, not interested. 2 adults / hopefully in a mk resort = not a good deal for discount. I need about 4 kids then it will work.

mky:cutie:

i should have used quotes the first time. i was responding to the poster who asked what the deal was for and what were the date restrictions.

We did not book either. This was our third year going in September and we have come to the conclusion that we won't be returning in September anymore. The free dining promotions have turned what used to be a quiet time at the world into crowd central. I myself have benefited from free dining and it is a fabulous offer but the restuarants were crowded, service was off a bit and it is too much food for us. Add the hot and humid weather and we are now going to stick with December, with the AP rates and the dining discount card and MUCH nicer, cooler weather.:thumbsup2

We had the offer in our room at Pop Century on August 31st. We didn't book, mostly because the dates didn't work for us. Not enough time to get a trip in before school starts.

We knew about the bounceback offer but also chose not to book although we discussed it at length. First reason, although I think the free dining offer is amazing and had during our last trip, I found that I was eating constantly. There is no way you can eat all the food on this plan. I also found that our time in the restaurants (mostly 2 hours plus) was cutting into our park time. My 6 yo DD was upset more times because we had to leave to go get supper...which no one was necessarly hungry for. With the heat/humidity I, and others in my family, just weren't that hungry. I think we could have survived on counterservices and snacks and the odd table service. So, we figured that maybe we'd go another time next year, get a great room rate and pay for our meals.

We didn't book either. For several reasons, 1) Hubby is starting a new job in a couple of weeks, 2) we already have a week planned at Ft. Wilderness in late October, 3) September is a bit hot and muggy for hubby, 4) with no appetizer, and no tip it is not as good a deal 5) now that we have the camper, we'd rather be at Ft. Wilderness, and an AP Discount there, breakfasts at the camper, and the DDE card is a better deal than Free Dining at the Values. 6) I'd rather be there for Food & Wine Festival

We had the offer in our room at Pop but didn't book it. We normally go during Spring Break when the parks are super crowded, so that wasn't the issue. We rode more rides in one day in the park this month that we've ridden in 3-4 days over Spring Break before. We also usually get the dining plan with our package so too much food (although true) and scheduling TS time wasn't the issue.
For us it was timing, mostly. School will have just begun in September. This year our DD missed 4 days of the second week of first grade and I just don't think hubby will agree to that happening ever again.
I think I can convince him to miss a couple of days next year. We could fly down on a Wednesday night, so she'd only miss 2 days. We'd have 3.5 days in the parks. I'm hoping we can go during February so it won't be so hot and it won't be too crowded. We'll just book at a discount rate, hopefully. Since they're changing the dining plan, we'll make that decision when we know more.

If I had been there, I would have booked it in a heartbeat, but......

My coworker went with her DH for their first adults only trip together since they were on their honeymoon 23 years ago! I called her during the time that she was there and told her about the deal. They had a wonderful time, got spoiled like crazy because it was their anniversary. But, they didn't book it the deal, because they thought that they would go to Hawaii in a few years and would just save up for that. Well, here we are about 3 weeks since that vacation ended and she is dying to go back to WDW.

DUH!

Newbies.......:confused3

:lmao: Maggie

We didn't book it even though the offer was in our room. We just did a second trip with free dining and while free dining is nice and all... I'm just burnt out on it. Too much planning and scheduling and wayyyyyyyy too much food. I never want to see a dessert again, LOL. Plus, my son will start Kindergarten next August. I don't really have a problem with taking him out of school for vacation, but I think it would be bad to take him out right during the first month of his first school year.
