So, how is your Mother's day so far?

I am doing my pre-vacation house cleaning we are leaving in 13 days for orlando. I just can't bear the thought of coming home to a dirty house. So its hi-ho hi-ho pushing that broom to and fro. thats the mothers day for me. But I am not complaining it is a necessary evil.

Happy Mothers Day All.

It's a little sad. My mom is in Orlando. The rest of my family took her to Epcot today. I'm glad she had a nice day.....:flower1:

Actually, I had some bits of beauty today. Anyone raising special need kids know that peace is sometimes hard to come by, so this was exceptionally touching on Mother's Day.

During church, my DD was holding DGD and singing softly in her ear. DGD is 20 months and doesn't hold still for long but she was curled up on her Momoa shoulder, loving it. It was a particularly beautiful & peaceful sight. Also during church, my DS was looking up all the scripture references correctly and then reading them to himself. Awesome to see it all coming together for him.

Had lunch with my parents (DH's are both gone) and my mother loved her great & grandchildren charm bracelet. We then came home to do our Mother's Day. DH got me 2 lilac bushes (my fav flower) and a Snowball bush, just like the one that was in our back yard when I grew up (over 4 decades ago). The kids had picked out a tanzanite ring because I love purple and it looked good with the lilac bushes.

We got DD a Huggable Teddy bear with a recorder to capture our DGD's voice. I worked very hard yesterday to get a great, 10 second recording and finally got one that is awesome. It brought tears to DD's eyes when she heard it. It was wonderful to see her react with such maternal emotion when she heard it.

DH and DS are golfing now. I knew they were wanting to go but didn't want to elave on Mother's Day. I insisted that they go and am glad that they have some time together. A rarity these days. They go and I get to DIS!

I think I'd better print out this post to pull out for comfort on a crazy day. Definitely not a typical day 'round here!

Mine has been bad and good.Bad being that I miss my mom.She died almost 24 years ago.Went to the cemetery to put flowers on her and my fathers grave.Good being that I got to spend time with my oldest son,his wife and thier two children. They got my a lighthouse perpetual calander.I like lighthouses. My youngest son (lives 3 hours away)called as he was leaving work to wish me A Happy Mothers Day!It still difficult not seeing him very often, especially holidays and special events. He works at a Resort and has a very eratic schedule and scheduling time togther is difficult. So anyone that can spend today or any day with their mother, appreciate those times!Happy Mothers Day to all the Mothers!

I forgot to mention that my husband uaually gets me something nice for Mothers Day,but this year he didn't.Because we agreed that our Thanksgiving trip to WDW was our gift to each other for all the speacial holidays and events! What a great present!

Steph, that is so sad. He is doing that to hurt you and Miss Maddy is a child and Children should be with their mom. he is one insensitive ****** ****** abd he should be ashameed of himself, I feel bad for him, he is a sick man taking it your bad marriage out on and innocent child, that sickens me. :(

 To all, that didn't have that great of a day.:o I am like the above Poster: Its just a Hallmark day, and nothing too much. I learned to deal with the day, and get out and do something, rather than stay home and mope.;) Robinrs: Hugs to you, I miss my Mom too.:(

It was a nice day for me. My DH and sons bought me a cool bike for Mother's Day. I love riding bikes!:D :bounce:

It actually started last night. My Mom and Step-Dad took DS and DD for the night. So DH and I went out to dinner and a movie, and I dragged him to Babies R Us to pick up stuff for the new little one!

This morning I got up and couldn't go back to sleep otherwise I would have slept in! So we got up, DH called his Mom in France and I built the new bassinet for Amelie - it's so cute and girly!! princess: Then DH and I headed out to pick up the rest of the family, we stopped to vaccum out the car and grabbed a bagel on the way. Then we got the kids and my Mom and Step-Dad and we drove down to meet my Grandma and Aunt for lunch. The boys sat in the front and my Mom and I sat in the back with the kids and watched Cheaper by the Dozen. We went to a mexican restaurant which had a buffet (YAY!) I have had more mexican food this pregnancy - if she doesn't come out doing the mexican hat dance it'll be a miracle!! We stopped at one of the outlet stores and I picked up some outfits for Amelie and a few things for the bigger kids. I drove home and now I'm in the house having some quiet time and DH is out in the yard with the kids while they ride their bikes. Its been a good day so far!

DS' class did a mother's day program on Friday - that was sweet, they made buttons and artwork for us :teeth: I did cry, but only because the belly baby wasn't enjoying some of the singing and she headbutted me in the ribs that took my breath away! :faint: :sad1:

Well,

I got a call from my college age dd at midnight saying she had horrible cramps and blood in her stools.

What to do. She went down to the University Hospital to find out what was wrong and it turns out she prolly has IBS. Irritable Bowel Syndrdome. She goes in later this week to see a specialist. This is common in young women, I guess.

Anyway, I was so wworried while she was in the ER. Dr. had to do a nasty exam on her and she was scared. She called me several times from the examining room and said she was glad she had me to talk to. She needed support and was so glad to have it.

This has been a wild year for us medically with so many health problems for myself, ds, and dd. But, things will work out. We all have each other. Anyways, my day did improve after that, but this post is too long for details.

Happy Mother's Day to all.

I ended up taking Grace to the ER today. She fell off the couch, hit her head on the coffee table and cracked her head open. She looked up and her face was covered with blood. After I wiped the blood off, it turned out she had the tiniest cut on her forehead. I was just going to treat it at home, but after seeing how gapped it was, I took her in. They ended up glueing the cut together with derma-bond. I need to get me a tube of the stuff to keep on hand for emergencies such as this.
I came home from the ER, and tried to call hubby to no avail. When I finally got ahold of him, it was 2:AM his time and he was totally schnockered. He had just come back from the club with some of his buddies, and he was lit up like a christmas tree. I could smell the fumes over the phone!! LOL!!! Poor man felt so bad that he was out partying, while his little girlfriend was suffering.
Then I had to cook dinner, then do laundry, then put the yaps to bed. I'm tired, I'm glad this day is over!!!

It was okay. My husband went turkey hunting in Arkansas. I was alone. There are worse things :)

My mothers day started out at 12 am this morning. My son kept asking me the time and when it was finally 12 he said Happy moms Day to me. This morning I got a card from DS and DD. My DD gave me part of a scrap book she is making for me. Very cute. Later my DS was out cutting grass, well we thought he was cutting the grass. He called us out and what he actually did was cut the words "I Love You" in the grass in the front yard. My mom and I planted flowers all day. It's been a very good day!!:p

Happy Mothers Day to all!!!

Mine stunk. :(

I had a migraine since the moment that I woke up. I'm feeling a bit better now, but it is about time for me to go to bed.

My second grandbaby is due sometime between today and Wednesday (they'll induce Wed.). He'll be a nice Mother's Day gift.

I had a great day. Started late Saturday night though because that's when dh gave me my present from him. He picked out a watch for me that I like a lot. Then I slept in today and didn't do too much this morning. My dd Ashli had spent the night with a friend so I didn't see her until this afternoon when she gave me a hilarious card and a purse. After church we went out to dinner with my parents. Overall a really good day.

Hubby got my van detailed, and the kids gave me hugs, cards, and books for our upcoming beach vacation. I talked to some other mom's at church. Then DH and I picked out tile for the kitchen. Finally, we watched survivor. It was wonderful.
