We are planning to limit our dining to CS restaurants this trip (I know...we generally mix CS and TS, but this is our 3rd trip in a year! : :woohoo: ) So, I have a good picture of the food choices/quality for CS @ WDW - but what's your favorite CS place in US? IOA? :confused3 Any not to be missed TS that I might talk DS into? :teeth:

At IOA we've loved the Jurassic Park Counter Service eatery - Richter something I believe :) and our favorite is Green Eggs and Ham. We found the US food to be lacking a few years ago in the counter service area but that was just our opinion! Another option at IOA is Blondie's for sandwiches - that was also very good!

I gotta say that I'm not too excited about their food overall, pretty blah. One time I had one of their pizzas that tasted just like chemicals (!) and my friend confirmed it when he tasted it (his tasted fine). Normally I would have returned it but that day I had the all-you-can-eat bracelet so I just went back to the line and grabbed something else.

I don't think you can go far wrong with Mythos at IOA. Yes, it's TS as opposed to CS but the food is great, the seeting is awesome and the service is good too. I actually don't think it's too expensive considering it's theme park TS either.

Most people recommend Mythos at IOA, it's best to go at lunch time, because they usually close early. Here's my Mythos page, from what I've heard, the desert menu has changed, so I don't think they have the fancy desert you'll see. The way you can save some money, is to share a wrap, and share a desert. The wrap comes with plantains, and you get soft bread to start.

Try eating apps at the Hard Rock Cafe, like the Jumbo Combo. Everyone can share.

In US there is La Bamba (?) just past the Horror Makeup show, but before the kids area. They have roasted chicken that is yummy :goodvibes
Oh, & over by BTTF, there is the World Showcase..........no, that's not right....................anyway, they have a variety of foods there - good for when everyone has a taste for something different.

In IOA, the Enchanted Oak is over in the Lost Continent, they have good stuffs! Roasted chicken, ribs, corn & cornbread - this is making me hungry!

Oh, & we never really enjoyed Mels in US, we found it over priced & poor quality, but, that being said, I know a few people that enjoy it.

HTH!

haggy :maleficen

I was considering Mythos for one day - the menu looks good - and you're right, not too expensive. How hard is it to get a table there? We are going during Pres. Week...probably the Thur. and Fri of that week.
thanks so much!

The eatery at Jurassic Park is Thunder Falls Terrace (Richter's is across from Earthquake at the Studios ;) )

Enchanted Oak Tavern in the Lost Continent area of IOA is also very good, and so is Mythos (sit down, super restaurant)

I was just coming to update this. We ate at Burger Digs which we really liked. :) I was looking through my US/IOA planning book today and saw the name!

Thunder Falls at IOA or Enchanted Oak are good for CS. At USO we like Cafe La Bamba for the chicken too. Do try and eat at Mythos one day, you wont regret it.

I have several faves for CS lunch and dinner at Uni.

In USF, I like Richters. Good burgers, chicken sandwiches, and fries, good location in front of Earthquake, and good service.

In IOA, I love Mythos (yeah, TS but I love it anyway), the Enchanted Oak for rotisserie chicken, Burger Digs for burgers and fries, and Thunderfalls Terrace (NOTE: Thunderfalls is not open year-round - it closes during slow periods).

I'm also partial to the Croissant Moon Bakery in IOA for some great sweet treats, Beverly Hills Boulangerie in USF for Cheesecake Factory cheesecake, Schwabb's Pharmacy in USF for excellent ice cream, shakes, and floats.

richter's in US and burger digs in IOA are practically the same menu. thunder falls is also a good choice. we also like monster's cafe in US.

I like the pizza at Louies (US) and Cafe 4 (IOA).

If you are interested in saving $$ You may want to look into whether the meal deal will work for you. There is a thread on here somewhere about the meal deal. I will try to find it and bump it for you.

There are so many options for dining, we like the boarshead sandwhiches back by the irish pub..if they are still doing that.

Also, don't forget, it is very easy to pop out to city walk from the parks, have lunch and return. The quick counter outside latin quarter is excellent.
