We are currently planning a 3 week trip from 14 October 2007 - the plan is to spend the first week at the Boardwalk in a 1 bed, the 2nd week at Wilderness Lodge in a studio and the 3rd week at the Beach Club in a studio.

We own at the Boardwalk, so that week won't be a problem, but is it even feasible to think we can get in at Wilderness Lodge or Beach Club.

This will be our first trip, and we have banked points so we can have a mega first trip, but now I am worrying that our plans are unrealistic.

If we can't get in those two, then I would happily spend 3 weeks at the Boardwalk, or some time at Old Key West so I won't be devastated if we can't do this, but I am wondering how likely it is.

Consider booking all your weeks at the BWV and then at the 7 month mark try booking the other resorts. October can be a tough time at BCV because of the F&W, not sure about the VWL.

Plan on calling day by day (as soon as MS opens each day) for at least the BCV week.

I don't think you will have trouble getting the VWL, but I'd call day by day for that, too if it were me.

Best wishes -

I agree with Bonnie I would book all three weeks at BW, then at exactly the 7 month window call and see if you can move to wl and do the same with the BC.

I would think WL wouldn't be too hard to get into at this time but the BC may be hard due to the fact that the Food & Wine Festival is going on and it is a very popular event.

If they say there is nothing available then request to be put on BC waitlist for the room you are requesting. If it comes thru great, if not you still have your room at the BW.

The only thing i would change on your plan is i would go for the one bedroom on week two - that way i could do my laundry in the comfort of my own villa

sounds good but I too would do the 1 bedroom 2nd for the W/D use

Also book all 3 at BWV then make switches at 7 months.
I would leave the order you want open because you may have to take what you can at BCV.

We always stay at our home last (BWV)

I was going to say book the one bedroom last, because moving to a studio after being in a one bedroom might be a shock to your system.

I totally take the point about moving to the one bed for the 2nd week due to laundry, or the third week for the contrast between studio and the lack of space.

We want to stay at the Boardwalk that first week as we will have friends staying there, but we could do a studio that week and then a 1 bed at Wilderness Lodge - I was just really keen on trying out the 1 bed at the Boardwalk as it looks so bright and airy and just lovely :)

How does it work by trying for the BeachClub for any nights, do I just call each day and see what is available? I realise I can't check in advance, so I can foresee ending up with a hodge-podge of rooms, some nights at the BCV and some at WL and somewhere I couldnt get any and remained at the Boardwalk - does this happen?

I called 6 months out for our reservations at VWL for this past October. They had 1 bedrooms aplenty, but I had to waitlist for a studio. We ended up getting the studio 2 months later, but we had to sweat out booking day by day.

I would call the first minute you can. Good luck! We had a blast.
