So.... How are the FPs today???

Inquiring minds want to know...we arrive Saturday!

We're traveling with people who have never been to Disney World, so really, really need to know what kind of strategy to use (besides our usual getting there before rope-drop.)

Wish WDW would get the system figure out, in place, no glitches:thumbsup2

Agreed!!! We will be there Sunday!!!

"Lines" and "MDE" are both showing what I would consider to be normal days at the parks.

Waiting for "live" reports...

Not sure I'd trust that stuff today...there seems to be a much bigger crowd there than anyone expected (including Disney...since they kept DHS open an hour later last night & added an additional Fantasmic yesterday)

Pretty sure I saw posts from yesterday talking about how far off the MDE numbers were yesterday afternoon(way too low for what waits really were) And on touringplans.com (where "lines" comes from) they had a summary of which rides they were off yesterday (and overall, the crowd-planning number was too low on all the parks, apparently.)

The Touring Plans app is showing pretty normal information right now for DHS, where the biggest problems were yesterday.

ToT 20 minute wait, FP return 10:30am
TSMM 66 minute wait, FP return 6:40pm
RnRC 25 minute wait, FP return 10:45am

Also, the lack of outraged posts so far this morning about FP being gone seems to support the idea that things are pretty normal today. :)

It would be interesting to see how they come up with their crowd projections. Is FD going on? Is F&W during the week (or just weekends)? Plus, it is a short week due to Columbus Day. All three of those could spell lots of people at the parks. And you would thing who ever does the projections would tweak it at least on a daily basis.

Here at Epcot now, recommended park for the day - soarin is 110+ wait, fast pass gone for the day. I feel like I messed up pretty bad here.

They use the Guesstimator 2000 made by ACME. Honestly Crowd predictions are so UNpredictable don't understand how so many can take it as law....

MDE says 120 minute wait with FP return of 8-9 PM, so that's pretty consistent and maybe just slightly behind.

That's not as bad as yesterday, but maybe reflective of a more typical day with FP+ as fewer paper FPs are available.

Crowd calendars make guesstimates based on past history along with different goings on in the parks. However, there are always exceptions.

We are at Epcot today too. Yep. Busy! This whole week has been busy as we've been reporting. Yesterday I realized that we will suck it up and have a great time no matter what. So what if we don't get as much planned as we hoped- we will still have a blast with the kids and experience new things as a family. Good luck to everyone!

Is it just busy due to wine and food? :confused3

We are going in the middle of Nov. and I am starting to get nervous.

Don't get nervous.. Everything here seems to appear worse than things are there. Yes they had a glitch yesterday, but reports today say things are back to normal..

Crowds this fall in general seem like they have been busier than what has been projected.

This week in particular could be a combination of things: Columbus Day in the US and Thanksgiving in Canada this past Monday, plus fall breaks for a lot of schools in the US.

Appears back to normal. I do sometimes question the theories of good park/bad park. What I have seen is the blanket if the park has EMH then it is bad. That leaves out some people show up later because they still have extra park time in the evening. I have gone to parks with EMH and found them not crowded and parks without EMH and found them crowded. Of course the other side is true also and sometimes it is correct. Outside of MK on Saturday's there is really no rhyme or reason to park levels that I see. I do believe the belief in slow seasons at Disney are becoming not completely true. I know Christmas and Easter are big periods other than that the gap from say late June week to a late September Week is not really that great.
Also I would also like to say for the repeat attendees if you go and find yourself there on an expected slow day and it turns into a mad house then look at it a different way. Maybe this will be an opportunity to do something that is not part of your normal routine. My last trip we went with DGD 5 who was scared of dark rides, fireworks, fast rides etc. At EPCOT I got to experience the countries way more than I ever had. Also spent some extra time in the post ride activities at Spaceship Earth and TT. There is often plenty of good things to do that you discover with a break from the routine.

Thanks for all the updated info. :thumbsup2

we are going down with another family total of 8 (4 kids) princess:pirate:

we are not doing the magic bands since some have park admissions and some still don't.

just hope the normal fast passes will work and not run out within the first hour of park opening.

If DHS had the same problems as yesterday, I'm sure there would be dozens of hyperbolic posts predicting the implosion of the universe, so things must be back to normal.

I can't wait until FP+ is completely rolled out and all the Dis people stop going to WDW as a result. All the secret spots and all the Dole Whips will be mine, ALL MINE! pirate:

No problem, since there will be no Disers except for us, we can hoard all the frozen citrusy goodness for our own selves. We can split ownership of Adventureland based on our food preferences.
