keeping that baby a secret was tough. I brought it to my Mom's. On Christmas Eve she brought it over in her car. I wrapped up the package with the glasses and the Alice in Wonderland blu ray. When he got to that gift he opened it and looked confused.
The reason for the confusion is every time the subject came up or we would see one (he loves Best Buy and we are there it seems once a week to look around) I would say things like we don't need it, it's too much money, there is no programing and other things like that. I did that because from the first moment I saw one and his reaction I decided that would be his gift.
When he saw the glasses I launched into a rehearsed speech about how I read on here on the Dis Boards (all knowing people) that if he had the 3D Blu Ray player and the glasses, certain PS3 games would work in 3D. This was a lie, I let him look confused for a minute or two then he said, it would not work, I really should have held out a little longer, made him suffer a little more before I said....then you are going to need what is outside in my Mom's car!!!! My Mom promptly produced the keys and everyone got up to go outside. Jay kept telling me....put a coat on, it's cold outside. I was just going to run out there coatless but he had a point so I went to the hall closet and opened it and there inside....a MINK coat. I started to jump up and down. He put it on me and we went outside to get the TV. Two hours later it was hooked up. My coat had been in the closet all evening. We put our guests coats on my daughters bed, my coat closet it pretty jammed so it was not opened all evening.
It's great! We watched the Alice and I just could not believe the quality of the picture. He started playing Call of Duty Black Ops today and that is 3D too.
The coast was a total blindside. I also got a new MAC and a pair of Tiffany earrings so I was as spoiled as he was.
What a Christmas! I thank all of you that helped me figure out which TV to get,
