Here in the D.C. area, the weather has been BEAUTIFUL since Friday. Sunny and highs in the 70s and 80s. It was about 84 yesterday.

Well, last night I went to bed and on my upper level it was 79 degrees. I figured, well, it will cool off in a few hours. Nope, didn't cool off. As a result, I tossed and turned and SWEATED all night. Didn't get much sleep at all. :sad2: I should have turned the A/C on but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. It's mid-March for cryin' out loud. Why do I always feel that I go from heat to A/C with no pleasant stops in between?

For some reason, even with all the windows open, I never get a cool breeze on my upper floor. My mid-level (kitchen and family room) felt wonderful. I should have slept on the couch. Grrrrrrr....

Well, here in Oklahoma, we are still having roller coaster type weather. This past weekend was absolutely gorgeous! Highs were in the mid to upper 80's. We wore shorts and short sleeved shirts both Saturday and Sunday. I worked out in the yard and broke a pretty good sweat.

Yesterday, the high was only around 60, but there was a constant 20 mph wind that made it feel very chilly.

This morning we wake up and it is in the upper 20's!! I had to turn the heat on this morning.

unfortunately, our apartment doesn't turn on our ac til may 1. add to the equation that i am surrounded by a bunch of people who blast their heat 24/7 (we iterally don't turn our heat on AT ALL during the winter), and march/april are generally pretty miserable for us.

if we open our windows little bugs come through the screens. :badpc:

Actually I did last Friday. Needed to cool the house down. We never open our windows and the A/C is on full time by April.

I turned the AC on this past weekend when the thermostat on the second floor got up to 81. But I'll probably have to switch back to heat tonight - it's supposed to drop to the mid 30's. Typical March weather around here. :sunny:

Yep. If it gets in the upper 70's in the house the A/C goes on- at least up stairs. I refuse to be uncomfortable especially at night.

I am too paranoid to sleep with windows open. We are still getting ladybugs in the house so I won't open the windows at all right now.

Yep, had to have the a/c on, buy new mosquito repellent, spray the ant hills in the yard, start weed contol.

On the plus side, I am feeding the cardinals, and the crawfish are in season.

There are two sides to everything.

Almost did it yesterday. Finally, last night around 8, it really started to cool off and the fans cleared out all the stagnant air that was in the house.

Today is the last of the hot/humid stuff for a while. Like others here, I refuse to start the a/c in March. Seems unnatural after living in Massachusetts my whole life. :teeth:

I'm just a couple hours south of you and we are having the same weather. I have refused for the past 2 days to turn on the a/c, for heaven's sake it's only March! The windows are wide open and I'm sweating my butt off at night but it's quite a bit cooler today. By Friday we are supposed to be back to the high 40's. Strange to wear shorts and a parka in the same week!

My husband turned our a/c on yesterday evening. We had the windows open but air does not move through our house for some reason. I was cooking a London Broil also so that didn't help. (I never thought I'd say this but I actually miss those ugly ceiling fans I fought him so hard to r emove when we redid all the electric in the house.)

I've been tempted to, but haven't yet. It's only 9am & it's already 80 degrees in here. I heard it's going to start cooling back down again later this week. Who would have thought, short & t-shirts in march? :confused3

I would LOVE to turn my A/C on, but since it's 13 degrees at my house right now....

Here in Texas I have had the AC on most of the winter.:teeth: I think we had the heat on for a total of 3 weeks at best.

I live in the Atlanta area, so it’s already been pretty warm here (though today the high is only 61—typical Georgia weather that can’t make up its mind). I can’t go to sleep when I’m hot, so we typically run the A/C at night even during the winter to keep the apartment 68 when we’re sleeping. This makes for pretty cheap bills in the winter and pretty expensive ones during the summer. I just can’t sleep when I’m hot though.

Can I say I am really disliking most of you right now, :badpc: in the most caring sort of way though. ;)

I turned mine on for about five minutes last night. Even with the windows open at 8:00PM and the ceiling fans on, it was still 83 and very sticky. So I closed everything up and ran the A/C for about five minutes. Took the humidity out and even though it only dropped the temp by a degree or two, it was very comfortable.

Are ladybugs dangerous? :teeth: We've had some in the house too and I now I'm thinking that they must have been crawling all over me last night.

Ours has been on since the weekend!

It gets really hot upstairs so we needed to cool those rooms down, especially during the night.
