Those of us who have listened to the podcast for awhile have heard Kevin "volunteer" to go to Disneyland Paris more than a few times. ;) My heart was so full of joy for Kevin today as I listened to him describe his time in Paris. I got all choked up hearing him talk about "the best day of his life." It is so amazing when someone's life long dream comes true. Thank you Kevin, for sharing your trip with us. I could definitely hear the pure delight in your voice. I am so happy that you're dream came true! :yay:

It's even better when you can see him return with his shopping bags and get to peek at the stuff he just bought.

While my day's in Europe are decades away, I enjoyed reading the thread of those who were enjoying their trip. Kevin had some of the most touching posts, from views of the Eiffel Tower that brought back memories of dear friends, to a romantic day away with his love. I look forward to listening and hearing more about the remainder of their experience. From what I've gathered, it was amazing.

Thank you for these kind and generous thoughts.

As the days pass (it's impossible to believe we have been home two weeks Monday), I think I'm beginning to enjoy the trip even more.

I think that while I was in the middle of the trip, I was so involved with not missing anything, that I was just absorbing everything around me.

Now, being home and having time, I'm able to look at the photos and the stuff we bought and take those memories out and really look at them.

Talking about our trip and reliving it helped a great deal.

And, I'm in the process of framing pictures and deciding where to hang things. So that is also is also helping.

I truly loved this Adventure.

Thanks again.

It touched my heart too. Just to hear the joy in your voice. I am so glad you got to do something you dreamed about so long. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I was thrilled to hear this trip was going to happen for you and have been listening and reading all of your feedback. :goodvibes I am glad it was so wonderful:thumbsup2 Penny

I have to say, Kevin, I'm currently trying to figure out how I can make this trip happen for my husband....he would absolutely LOVE Paris. It's the only place in the world that he wants to visit. I might have to sell my engagement ring....or my firstborn to finance it! :)

Kevin...you are such a gentle soul. I loved your account of how you knew Michael was present. I'm sure he was a marvelous person. Thank you for sharing and being so vulnerable with us....perfect strangers.

I was riding the train from NJ to NYC today while listening to your trip report -- crying and laughing and looking otherwise idiotic. I will listen to this numerous times for sure. You are making me want to pursue my dreams....which I think we all sit on and wonder "what if???"....I am so happy for you! Thank you again. :grouphug:

Kevin,

I haven't listened to the podcast yet...I tend to wait several weeks then download several of them and listen to them on my commute. But I just wanted to say, I am so happy that you had the chance to experience this trip that you have mentioned for so long that you wanted to do, and that you were able to share it with several important people in your life, and people that could understand and appreciate the experience as much as you did. Also, I am so glad that, at least as much as I can tell from the other posts, including you own, that your trip lived up to and maybe even exceeded your expectations that you had. So, in closing Kevin, I look forward to listening to this podcast and want you to know that like the others, I am so happy that this trip afforded you so much joy, bittersweet at times I'm sure, and want to thank you for sharing these special thoughts and moments from your life with us. Thank you, God Bless and onward and upward!!!!

Mike

I'm so happy for you Kevin! It sounds like a dream come true! :)

Because the only foreign language I speak fluently is German, and I really don't have much of a desire to go to Germany, I'm going to be doing my semester abroad in Great Britin, either in London or Oxford, but I have a feeling I'll be taking the Eurostar to Paris every few weekends... You're descriptions and enthusiam solidified that! See you there! ;)

Simon
Simon if you go to Oxford, go to Christ Church and ask for the private Alice in Wonderland tour. Lewis Carroll was a math professor at Christ Church and wrote stories for and about the Dean's daughter Alice. So many of the people in the stories were based upon people he worked with at Christ Church - including the Dean who was always "late, late, late" (hint hint). I did this a few years ago and it was wonderful and very reasonbly priced. The tour was only for an hour or two and I think the 3 of us together cost 50 lbs at the time. Check it out - it was a highlight of my trip to England!

I read this post when it appeared but hadn't yet listened to the segment. I finally heard it yesterday and I totally agree. Kevin, even though we've never met, it was so heart-warming to hear you talk about your experiences in Paris. It isn't often that we get to hear a story like that of someone getting to do something that was such a big wish for them - and even better, having it go as good or better than they had imagined it. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I was wondering about one thing. This may have been answered in the trip thread but that's too long to go searching through. What was the cost of hiring the private driver for that day in Paris?

Thank you for the kind words. I truly appreciate them.

The car and driver were 485 euros for a full 8 hours....and worth every bit of it.

It was an amazing day.

I thoroughly agree. Kevins passion for his "dream come true" trip had me with goosebumps abound. I love that it exceeded expectations and has me trying to figure a way to get there.

I have been to Paris once and had no desire to go back. Hearing about it through Kevin's eyes has tempted me. :goodvibes
