I'm a newbie here....what are "BLACK dots"??

When you reply to a thread, the black dot appears on the envelope at the left to let you know it is a thread you have responded to.

As I didn't have any black dots today, I figured I'd get one..quick

Ha - I never realized that. Were they always there?

They used to be, but they have been gone for a long time! The little letter coming out of the envelope tells you when someone has responded after your response, and the dot is there if you have responded.

Okay, I'll admit it - I had to see for myself!! (The black dots!)

And I needed (you guys understand) to see my countdown counters as it has been a few days since I visited the boards.
