So FOP Fast passes are booked. Now what?

Don't despair. We vacationed in August and did not have FastPasses for FOP and rode it 3 times - never waiting more then 35 minutes. We arrived at AK both mornings at @ 7:45 for rope drop. They let us into park early and we walked to Pandora. We rode and were off FOP by 9:15 and immediately got in line for Navi River (no FastPasses for that, either). By 9:45 both days, we were able to ride both rides. We then enjoyed Pandora and had lunch at Satu'li Canteen both times (best QS in WDW IMO). On the night we saw the ROL show, we went to Pandora right after the show. We waited in line for about 35 minutes, but it was great because we got to experience Pandora at night and walk the entire queue line which you miss when you rope drop in the morning. It worked out really well.

As a side note - we rope dropped 7DMT as well (no FastPass) and were off it within 20 minutes. Though, in our opinion, that is the MOST overrated ride in WDW. I have no interest in riding that again. The themeing was great but it is the worst coaster in all of WDW. Not worth a long wait. I hope you enjoy your vacation :)

We are a party of 3 going the same dates after Thanksgiving... I was making my FP+ reservations Wednesday morning at 7am.
FOP, Test Track, SDD and 7DMT were my priorities... I was able to get Test Track and 7DMT, no FOP or SDD. I could have gotten FOP on my last day, but it was too late in the day we needed to be at the airport.

The issue is that our reservations are only for 4 nights, the longer the stay, the better chance of getting the popular fastpasses.

So I am going to keep looking, but we will probably do rope drop for FOP if I don't luck out. Hoping for short lines for SDD.

My fp day was this past Wed and I was awake and logged on by 7:02! SDD and FOP were completely gone for 64 and 65 days out. I'll keep checking, but my husband is really put off by the whole thing. First, we didn't get any of the ADRs we wanted at 180 days out and now the two FPs we wanted the most are also gone. It's really not helping my case to him for buying into DVC. :(

We are there the same dates. I was really disappointed that those hard to get rides were not available for fp's on day 64+. Does not bode well for crowd predictions. Obviously not a low week like we'd anticipated.

There 4 Christmas parties in that time frame. MK FP will run out faster for party days because of the reduced hours and the park will be busier on the non-party days. That might explain difficulty getting SDMT fastpasses.

Set your alarm clock for very early and be early to rope drop.

Actually you will hear two strategies, rope drop or end of the day. I am a morning person so I prefer rope drop. When I want to ride FoP I arrive at the park 90 minutes before official park opening and end up near the front of the line. I have been able to ride FoP and then Navi River and be back out in the park by 15-20 minutes after opening. This past summer I made a quick trip south and rope dropped FoP, then Navi River, ITTBAB, Dinosaur, then a FP for the Safari, and was third in line for an early lunch at the Flametree BBQ. A very productive morning.

And keep checking for FPs... you never know.

We just got back on Monday from our trip, and this is exactly what we did - got to AK early, beeline for FoP first thing. We were through and off the ride before 9:30. Had plenty of time to then hit up all the other rides in the park, and even got back for another ride on FoP through the regular line later in the day (wait times dipped just below 60 minutes and the regular queue is pretty amazing to see).

I agree with others...keep checking. I struck out on first booking day for 60+3. I've been randomly checking and today it came up at 40 days out. Good luck!

We were just there on Tuesday 9/25 and because of a thread I saw here we got to AK by 7:45. At 8:15 they let everyone in to the bridge into Avatar. At 8:30 they let everyone right into and onto the ride. We got right on and we're walking off the ride at 8:55!!! I check the stand by line time when we got off and it said 60 minutes. By the time we got off the River ride it was 135 minutes. We checked again before Rivers of Light but it was still around 60+ minutes so we didn't ride again.

Now as for the ride, one word, AMAZING!!! Disney has outdone themselves with FOP and it is absolutely the best ride anywhere on this planet!!!!
