After six months of waiting we finally leave on Friday for 2 nights in Disney World and then off to the Disney Wonder for 4 nights. I can't believe it is finally here. Of course, a big thank you to all you guys who helped me so much in my planning and packing. I don't know what I would have done without you. I have to say that the closer we get to leaving the more nervous I get about being sea sick. I bought bonine, I am going to the store today to get the seabands and my doctor gave me a prescription for the patch. What do you guys think of me doing this..... I am going to take the bonine and wear the seabands, if the bonine and seabands don't work then I will use the patch..... I really don't want to use the patch because of side effects but if it is my last resort, I guess I will have to. So what do you think? Thanks....... Jeneen

I've never cruised before but I'm going with close to the same approach. I'm taking the same 3 but I think we'll start with just the seabands, if needed maybe go on to the Bonine then the patch as a last resort. My husband had a terrible time with Bonine when he had vertigo a few years ago. Whenever he took it it made his symptoms worse and he was better off without it. I know everyone is different but it makes me a little more cautious about it.

Hi, It sounds like a good plan. My son gets car sick, so we started using bonine before actually getting on the ship. He did great, never got seasick, and made sure he knew where extra bomine was if he started to get queasy. The rest of the family only took 1 bonine the whole trip.

We just got back from our July 4th trip. We had excellent weather. I was also worried about the sea sickness issue. I had the bands and patches and never used them. My husband and I both took the less drowsy dramamine and we were totally fine. My children 2 and 7 didn't need anything. Honestly, at times we couldn't even tell we were moving. The first night was the most noticeable. So, I would take something the first day before the ship leaves out and just see how that goes. I didn't see anyone that seemed to be feeling sick. Hope that helps a little

I also took ALL the stuff with me, and to tell you the truth, it was only the first night where we felt the boat moving. My DD told me her stomach felt "jiggely". I had remembered reading that if you try not to have an empty stomach, you shouldn't get sick. So (so easy on a cruise), we just made sure that we were never hungry. Just ate a little something every couple of hours. Worked out great. We didn't need anything. After the first day (having a porthole didn't help), it was fine, we could actually look out without feeling weird. Bring the STUFF just in case. But try not to think about it too much. IMO its mostly the people who think about it too much that get the sickest. Have a great time.
