I called DVC yesterday morning and spoke to Jim McCoy who was very friendly and knowledgeable of course. He has been with DVC for 10 years and I am sure the name is familiar to some here.

He is sending me a 35-page book with all the membership details along with the DVD, and he said we should have it tomorrow. I am so excited to get this that I know if it does not come tomorrow and I have to wait longer I will be disappointed and frustrated! Anyone else our there as *crazy* as I am with this stuff? I can't help it, I just love vacations and love planning for them. DVC will allow us to secure long vacations in the future for years and we love that!!! Jim also told me that the amount of points it costs for various other vacations will be in my materials, for the current going rates. I am so excited!!! (Even though we will be using our DVC at DVC in WDW 99% of the time, the other stuff has my curiosity!!) :cool1:

you're going to be hooked! I still get excited every time we plan a trip! I get excited every time we add on, too! We are currently in the process of doing that and I think we will be going to AKV. The excitement never wears off! If you need a referral for a discount of any type, pm me and I will give you my name.

I totally understand the excitement you feel and actually I still feel it myself. I have been a member for 10 years and DH tells me all the time that I am his 'all inclusive' travel agent.

I love planning the trips, I love calling and making the reservations, I love looking through all my DVC books and literature, and most of all I love counting our next trip down.

Just tonight we went to dinner because we are now at 30 days until we leave for WDW staying at SSR. Bringing my brother and his wife with us and we are all looking forward to our next magical DVC vacation.

To me you sound like you could be hooked but watch out for Addonitis. Many of us have it, including myself, and honestly I hope they never find a cure for it....:lmao:

May the power of pixie dust help you with your decision....:woohoo:

Jim's my guide -- he's great!

We took the tour with him in January and purchased at SSR in February -- we're planning our 2nd trip as DVC members already -- we've stayed at VWL and SSR and will be at BCV on our Christmas trip!

Good luck with your decision!

I know some people won't like this but as DVC owners at 2 properties we feel DVC is oversold at this point.
Bad enough you have to book restaurants so far in advance now just taking off for 3-4 nights is also an issue.

No such thing as being spontaneous at WDW.

Oh boy, you are getting the dream book. Well, trust me, there is no chance you won't be buying now! It's a beautiful marketing package. I remember when we first got ours. It is very exciting. Congrats.

Oh, you won't put that dream book down. We still look at it and we bought last summer.:goodvibes
Guess I don't have to ask you "Are you feelin' it?"pixiedust:

It's a virus, once you get it it's hard to get rid of. But a enjoyable feeling

I've watched the DVC vidio at least 25 times and it never gets old!! The Dreams book is awsome but after you purchase DVC. the Vacation Planner is even better!

Look forward to saying Welcome Home in the future.

Dennis-

Oh... you are SO going to be headed to Disney for the next 50 years or so...

...and to answer your question.. YES we could barely stand the excitement ourselves when we got the packet.

GRATS!!!

Hahaha, thanks everyone!!! So I am not the only one who gets excited over these things.

You know, I was thinking to myself last night, and I know this is a very different thing than owning a timeshare...but if we would have bought a vacation home in the Poconos or upstate NY (I have some relatives who have these), it would have been WAY more expensive, and no doubt I would be bored in those places after a few times! But I don't think that can hapen with Disney, or Orlando in general. It's like the "fun" capital of the world!

I just (July) did as spontaneous of a 3 night WDW trip as we ever have taken.(less than a month to book and plan) Had a wonderful time at SSR and WDW :lovestruc and I am happier than ever that we are DVC owners.

because it has never left:rotfl:

It has been over three years and I still get gitty when I think about DVC. Without a doubt, buying DVC has been one of the best things we did for our family. We look forward to our annual family trip every year.

I love how flexible DVC is. The first year my kids were 1 and 3 and we stayed in a Studio at BWV. My DH and I agreed that it was the BEST vacation we ever had. The following year my mother and her DH joined us and we got a 2br at OKW. That was great too. We loved having all the space, washer and dryer and jacuzzi tub. Last April we had a 1br at SSR and found that this was perfect for our family. I found that I really really enjoyed SSR. the spa is wonderful and my kids are at the perfect age to enjoy the splash area at the Grandstand pool. we loved that we could sit and relax and watch the kids play right in front of us. This was the most relaxing of the three DVC vacations thus far.

My reason for telling about these trips.....I just wanted to show you how you can plan vacations as your family needs change. WE LOVE DVC!!!!!!

Congratulations and happy planning to you!!!!!!

That's it exactly! :thumbsup2 Planning all our trips keeps me going in between visits, and I still get excited every time I hear "Have a magical day" when I call for something. ;)

I know exactly what you mean. I have been looking into DVC for a while now. I have had the book and video for some time, have been researching how everything works and trying to understand it all. Hadn't really planned on purchasing just yet, but then I received the recent incentive for AKV. Now, I have talked to my agent and had all my questions answered. My last step will be to go over the final details with DH this weekend and get his buy in (that won't be hard ;) ) I plan to call my agent Monday to tell him to send the paperwork! I know I need to get DH's final OK, but I'm dying to tell my agent to just go ahead and send it! I know he will say yes!! Waiting for that first trip next year is going to kill me!

I asked DS5 last night how he would like to be able to go to WDW every year. He relates everything to his age right now, so I said "we can go when you're 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10" His respose was "And I want to go more times when I'm bigger too - like Sherry's age" (Sherry is his oldest cousin). That sealed the deal for me (not that I needed more convincing :rotfl:). Then I asked him how he would like to stay at AKV where he could go out on the balcony of our room and watch the animals. He was just in awe! I can't wait to see his reaction when we get there!!!
