Finally, finally, FINALLY - my addition is finished!!!! A new sunroom, with a laundry room and half bath, and a two car garage. It has been in the works since September, and to those of you who said it would take twice as long and cost twice as much - you were right!!! But this weekend is the payoff - I am going to Target in the morning to stock my new laundry room. I might just buy three or four of everything, because I have the cabinets to store it in!!!

And I can finally get the trashcan and bathroom fixtures out of my closet, and move my liquor back into the bar, instead of keeping it in the linen closet. What a relief - no more opening the door to get clean towels and having a corkscrew fall on my foot!!!

It's really disconcerting when you have a part of your house "off-limits" and you have to squirrel things away in different locations. I am so looking forward to having everything back in its place!!!

I'd post a picture if I knew how, but it's really just a large room (22 by 23 feet) with a bar in one corner, and a lot of windows and French doors to the patio. And for Mother's Day I think I am being treated to a nice lunch by the two dear daughters, and we will eat in our new room!!!

But I'm mostly excited about my new laundry room!!!! And finally, the washer and dryer and freezer are out of my kitchen, where I have been bumping into them for six months!!! Woo Hooo!

I want pics... I love laundry rooms I just got one a couple of months ago :cool1:

I wish I knew how to post pics, or had a digital camera that works - I may try it one of these days!!!! My previous laundry room was a closet - and the dryer I chose when I moved in needed a certain amount of clearance in the back for the vent, etc. Pulling the dryer out those few inches meant I couldn't open the dryer door all the way down, so I had to open it as far as it would go, brace it with my knee, then put wet clothes on the door to hold it down on its own until I could finish emptying the washer. SO convenient - NOT!!!! Now I have space for the W/D and cabinets on three sides of the room. One set of cabinets is pretty high up, and underneath them is a built-in bar to hang clothes on. Last week, before the W/D was moved, I put a shirt on a nice wooden hanger there, just so I could get the effect and be happy about it every time I walked past!!!!

Sad that I am this excited about a laundry room!!!
