So does the Yeti on EE work or not!!

Sorry if this has been answered before. I know I just read a thread about things that bothered people about Disney. One of the items was that they haven't fixed the Yeti. When did it break? And is it fixed?

Its either a cracked foundation or a lack of lubrication but either way its a huge problem to fix and most say it would require removing her and its not in the plan to fix her as it would bring the ride down for too long. Maybe when Avatar land opens there will be enough other attractions to make it easier to close it.

The entire ride - hell, the entire area surrounding the ride, leading to it...most of Asia...is themed around the Yeti.

But the Yeti disappoints.

Hasn't worked in ages.

Anyway, I can see why people want it fixed.It's kind of what makes the ride spectacular but I can also see why Disney won't do it. It would take MAJOR construction and EE is kind of the only ride there that really attracts people to the park. My suggestion to them is to make another big ride (hold Avatar please)that could take the heat off EE and then they could repair it

Has anything been released on what attractions they are planning for Avatarland?

I can see them definitely adding a E ticket to this expansion.

Oh MY!!! That man is quite clever! Makes me sad though. I was lucky enough to see the Yeti move and groove! It was cool! Still love the ride, but sad that its not fully functional.

Well I started it a while ago when their were a ton of posts where posters insisted on a ton of bibles that they swore they saw the Yeti move last Thursday (it always seemed to be Thursday ). Or that it kind of moved or whatever. (Go back to May 2010)

The calendar was a way to try to quantify these "sightings", I just gave up at one point and its now a reoccurring event that repeats until the end of time or until the Mayan Calendar runs out.

Oh, or in the unlikely event that its gets fixed.

I'm not sure I understand the thought that Disney "just can't" close the ride to fix any issues with it. ALL rides go down for refurb at some point. Seems like it would be better to fix it! I might actually like it if the Yeti actually did something!
