We are staying at WL in Dec and were planning on going for lunch but have been reading such bad reviews. Would dinner be better? Anyone have anything positive to say about it?

at there for breakfast last sept. and had the burgers from there for room service, we loved it. I really is a fun place to eat and the food was so good.

My DBF and I went there in December and we had a really great time. I had the chicken vegetable penne pasta which was awesome and he had the skillet. He seemed to enjoy the skillet. Of course, he HAD to ask for ketchup!:rotfl:The milkshakes were great as were the apple pie and smores cheesecake. We would definitely come here again. It was one of our better meals of the trip. We really like WCC. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

It was always a must-do for us, but after last years dinner experience we decided to leave it off our list this trip. The food wasn't horrible - just not very good. For example, the meat was dry and tough and nothing came out on the platter piping hot (more warm). Plus, every single time we have went there for dinner we have waited a minimum of 20 minutes past our ADR time. The atmosphere is fun and loud, but just not worth it to us anymore with all the other choices.

We went our first night in 2008 and had a great time! The food was good, service was excellent and it was a fun place with a lot going on. My kids loved the "horse" racing and the ketchup! ;) We will probably do it again at some point.

OK, here's my honest opinion. Our family went and found it to be terrible. We won't go back, making it the only restaurant in WDW for which I can say that.

However, and it's a BIG "however", we read the same types of terrible reviews about Ohana before making our dinner plans there on the same trip and it ended up being one of our very favorite meals and we'll go back there whenever we can. Contrary to the reviews we read, we found the food and service to be flawless.

We also read reviews about CRT being rushed, with poor quality food and iffy service, but found the service to be impeccable and the food to be completely fine (if not world class).

And so on, and so on, with nearly every restaurant in WDW. All have supporters and detractors.

You should feel confident that everybody's experience will differ. You might love WCC; lots of people do, as it's almost always full. You might find it to be an "OK" experience that you don't regret. Or you might not care for it at all. But use my experience, and the experiences of all of us, merely as reference points and don't let us talk you out of something that looks good to you. The odds are good that you'll like it or love it!

Have fun!!!

I agree. I've eaten at Ohana's many times, but in December it was horrible. Everyone has different experiences. I say if the menu looks like some place you would want to try then do it!

We enjoyed the food and the "hijinks". Our only problem was that the service was a little slow and it seemed to take forever to get our check and get out of there. I think it might have just been that night or our particular server. The skillet was yummy!

Great to try with kids under 10. Mine want to go back there this trip. The food isn't great but it's solid and we love the interaction!

WCC is DH's favorite place on WDW property. It is a must do for us every trip.

He loves the skillet, the antics of the staff and loves that he can have a gallon of coke during dinner....lol
I too love the place, only I get the ribeye. It is very tasty and so tender.

You will find good and bad about every restaurant on WDW property. Including the signatures.
So here is what I say, if the menu appeals to you then go. Don't worry about others trips.
If I were to have listened to half the bad reviews here I would've missed out on some great food, fabulous restaurants and wonderful memories. There are at least 4 places we love that get bad reviews all the time.

Go find out for yourself.

I also recommend trying it out! We have been a couple of times and willbe going back on our upcoming trip - I love the skillet, and the Smores Cheesecake is amazing! It's not the type of place to bring anyone who would be annoyed with kids running around and yelling and servers acting crazy - cause that's the nature of the place! I would say give it a go - you may really like it!

I have learned over many trips that reviews don't always mean that much. For example I didn't like Ohana at all (and it's a crowd favorite) however I LOVED Kouzzina (hated by many!)...go see!

I agree that if the menu looks good to you that you should try it at least once.

A group of 4 of us went in January and as a result of a lot of negative reviews I had modest expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered two apps to start the chips and dips others liked but I found the taste of the dip to be not to my liking however it was served hot and gooey which was good. We also got the pork spring rolls which everyone loved although they were a little greasy and only 2 came in an order. I got the pulled pork sandwitch and I found the pork to be very moist and tender and the BBQ sauce was not too sweet just as I like it. The other three got the skillet I only tried the corn bread which I thought was very good. All three of them pretty much finished the skillet off and each enjoyed their food. I found the service to be a bit slow but I actually find that with a lot of the restaurants we went to in Disney.

DH and I stayed there last Oct and the Breakfast at WCC was awesome. We didn't get a chance to do lunch or dinner we were either in the park or had reservations some where else.

We are going to try it on our next trip. I agree the results seem so mixed that we could love or hate it. My husband thinks the idea of the skillet is great and we have 2 young boys who should get a kick out of it. Plus we always wanted to check out the WL. Our ADR is on a Sat evening so am hoping for more antics with the servers.

we ate there last Saturday night. (6/12) I had the pot roast and DH had the meatloaf. They brought out pasta with butter for two of my kids who didn't find anything appealing on the kids menu. I thought the food was awesome..moist and tender pot roast and meatloaf. Kids enjoyed their meals. Our waitress was wonderful and attentive. I tried to get DH to ask for ketchup but he wouldn't but found it amusing when other tables did. The only drawback was the 20 minute wait we had after we checked in. We'd definitely go back again.

You dont know until YOU try it. We all tend to complain more over bad experiences and say less about the good. Our meal there was less than stellar, the extra long wait after check-in didnt help. But we tried it and its the only place we will not try again. Maybe it was an off night for them? We did later that week eat at the Territory lounge and everything was hot and wonderful. I assume they might share the same kitchen so maybe it was an off night for WC.

Go and check it out, then you will know for your family. (Don't get the vegetarian burrito enchilada thing!)

Thank you all for your replies! I am going to stick with WCC. We are staying at WL anyway so it's a good time to try it. Plus I am hoping that my son will get a kick out of it :goodvibes

I just checked Allears.net reviews and there were many people who loved WCC. So it's a go:thumbsup2
