So Disney Travel CALLED me.....

Have been to WDW at least 30 times. I stopped counting at 30. I am a DVC member, AP holder, my daughter is a CM. Disney has never called me. I saw Disney on my Caller ID and panicked be caused in thought something happened to my DD at work! It was Disney travel calling to review my reservation for next week. I recently removed MIL and FIL from the reservation and added on DS and his GF. MIL and FIL had been booked on Magical Express but if DS and GF show up at all (who knows because they are 19 years old and going on Spring Break in Destin for a few days first) they are going to drive down. The CM on the phone said they were just reviewing and were confused about who was coming and how we were all getting there. OK?! I'm impressed! This has never happened before! We are staying at the GF but we have stayed at Deluxes before, even in concierge and never gotten a call. The CM was so polite, reviewed everything and said OK see you next week- WOW!

We have reservations at BCV for 5/3 - 5/13. Last week there was a message on my answering machine from Disney. The Disney rep. said that she saw we had dining reservations but didn't have the Dining Plan booked. She left her name and number and said if were interested in the Dining Plan to give her a call back. This was a first for us too!!

Good, even great, customer service happens all the time. I have never had bad customer service with Disney either on the phone or in the parks. It is just that people are more likely to complain then they are to compliment so you get a very skewed look at things.

Totally agree as far as I'm concerned!!!

I got a call today from DVC (message on machine) and the CM was going over my travel plans and stay at BCV, including whether I wanted to add a dining plan or make dining reservations, book Magical Express etc. She stated that she could see that my MDE looked like it was in place and everything looked fine. Also left her name and a toll free number which was specific to her dept. Never had this happen in 30 years of vacationing at WDW.
 
This is really interesting to me….seems like what you all have in common is a history of visiting multiple times. Could they be trying to appease us repeat visitors? Those who have been most upset by the changes?
 
I am pretty sure in the latest DVC magazine they said they were going to be reaching out to guests more with Homecoming calls to assist with plans. I also got a call last weekend for the second check-in of our trip (BVC).
 
only calls I've gotten are in response to my email complaints ( one email, multiple issues). And from dining regarding change in pricing for Hollywood and Vine Meal during Star Wars Weekends, which sent me into total panic because I'd cancelled all reservations over a month prior to call.

That is DVC's new Homecoming call. We received TWO of them for the same upcoming reservation. And I'm pretty certain they said they were with MS so that means we're paying for this directly out of dues. :sad2:

Sad but these are DVC PR and sales calls in disguise. Part of the new Member Experience initiative where they are trying to make you feel better about ownership and while selling you a Member Experience.

I have received several such calls and sometimes I play along and let them work through their script, other times as soon as I say that I'm not interested, they move on.

I wouldn't have a problem with it if we weren't paying for the call and if MS didn't have long phone queues and delayed correspondence.
