Last year we had the most wonderful meal at Nine Dragons. Everything was fresh, wonderfully spiced and beautifully presented. We got the chef's recommendation and it was terrific. We returned last week and it was like a different place entirely. The food was generic and mediocre. In fact, it wasn't as good as the CS in China, but cost 3x as much. They served the dishes as if we'd ordered personal plates, with the food and a ball of rice, and it took 15 minutes to get extra serving spoons and plates. What a disappointment. Nine Dragons is off our list!

sorry you didn't like it - we've never eaten there - always seemed like something we could go to at home (for a lot less money)

Sorry you had a bad experience. We do not like Nine Dragons at all. We have only dined there once, but once was enough for us. I have no desire to return. Their food was less than mediocre from the standard Chinese food we could get from home. Service was poor as well.

I am sorry to hear about your experience. I was seriously considering an ADR there for my trip starting on Sept. 28. I plan on a number of ADRs in EPCOT because of the International Food and Wine Festival and my love of ethnic restaurants. I guess Nine Dragons is off the list unless I get some positive reviews. I definitely will make ADRs at Canada, Norway, and maybe at France. I guess I will now try Japan in lieu of China but I am disappointed.

I so totally agree with your opinion. went once,,, food, service horrible..take out at home was cheaper and easier...we have never gone back...
must be at least 10 years.

seems nothing has changed

We were disapointed last time we ate here too, sorry you didnt enjoy your meal

We love the China CS but we are not thrilled with Nine Dragons either, our local place serves better food for half the price

this is probably why more often than not Nine Dragons has available ADR's on most days.

Thanks for the review - this was one of the restaurants I had never tried and was going to put it on my list this time, but now will skip it.

Sorry you didn't enjoy your experience this time. I've not heard very many good things about this place. It remains on my "avoid" list.

I wish they'd change this restaurant to a dim sum place. Where they walk around with carts of baskets and you just pick the ones you want. I think that has potential to be awesome, and a lot of us live in places that don't have dim sum restaurants, so it would be different enough to attract lots of diners.

Oh great!

No wonder it was wide open for next week!

I think I will cancel our ADR there for next week and go with a CS restaurant instead.

Thanks for the head up!

DH and I actually really liked Nine Dragons when we went in July 2006. We found their food to be on par with the nicer Asian restaurants in Montreal, both price-wise and quality-wise.

I can understand why the place gets a bum rap (sticker shock), but if you enjoy Chinese food, then I wouldn't cancel my ADRs...

We went to Nine Dragons during our Feb. 07 trip for the first time. We were a bit disappointed with the appetizers mainly because the majority had pork in them, which our family abstains from. However aside from that, the entrees were good. I will say that the portions were on the small side, especially my honey sesame chicken whiich i wanted more of...very yummy.:cutie:

Dessert left much to be desired and the service was not bad. I'm not planning on going here during our Sept. 07 trip, but I might try it again in the future.

I have always said "Friends don't let friends eat in China". That counter place is where cold, greasy noodles go to die and Nine Dragons is over-priced and not as good as your local place.

We also did not enjoy Nine Dragons last time we ate there for many of the same reasons as the OP. It's definitely not one I'd recommend either.

I would love to see Dim Sum at Epcot as well. However if you are in orlando and desperate for Dim Sum I can recomend two places to you. Chans on Hwy 50 and Ming's Bistro which is just off of 50 behind all of the shops in the asian section of town. Mings remains favored for Dim Sum because outside of normal Dim Sum hours they give you a sheet similar to the sushi restaurants and you mark what you want. Then they make you your dim sum fresh. Dad and I go there off Dim Sum hours just because it is so fresh. This is a bit of a drive off of Disney Property though. If you have access to a car it is well worth the drive.

Sorry you had such a bad experience there! We were there just over a month ago, in March and tried Nine Dragons for the first time. We had an excellent meal and would certainly return. It's not as though we had nothing to compare it to, we've been to plenty of top notch Chinese restaurants. Was it the best I've ever been to? No, but it was very good and we had a lovely window view of the WS area outside. Our service was good too. Again, sorry you had a bad time. That's no fun and I know the feeling.

We went there last Sunday for dinner and it was definitely my least favorite meal of the entire trip. I was looking forward to it and was SO disappointed. Our waiter was not good either. We were literally in and out in 1/2 hour! I'd never go back there again.
