So did anyone with an AAA package use the new code to save more?

Ok we are 01/05-01/11 and it looks like you room rate is about $10 less than ours. I give up :rotfl:

Did your AAA package come with this voucher, ? someone on another thread just said it would come with her AAA package, I was aware of the parking pass and the diamond card but not an additional PH voucher anyone know?

Did not have a savings with any of these packages. Can't believe that AAA isn't a little upset or have something planned as it looks like people will book themselves or thru another TA as there is no advantage to AAA right now except a few small perks.

I actually saved about $120 after I told my AAA agent that it looked like I could do better directly with Disney she all of a sudden came back with a lower offer. Makes you wonder how they can do it. No PH voucher mentioned tough so I may ask her.

I checked with my AAA TA and she said that she couldn't do any better than the new MYW package. No AAA discounts available to add on to it or help it in any way. :guilty:

I looked it up online and saw that I would save about $140 with the new codes. So I called my wonderful AAA agent and she had already switched my ressies over to the new code!!

Did you try pricing it yourself at disney.com? I would check and see.

I am going to call my TA on Monday and see if she can do better than the other one filling in for her. IT is really bugging me that others got both codes and for mine she had to change it (new promo) and I only got one code and lost my AAA discount. I did save 57 more but I am still thinking it should be 140 since I onlyy got tickets with hoppers (35 a person for 4 tickets).

Thanks everyone!!!!

Not including the new package available through March, could someone post or PM me and tell me approx. what % off a AAA package staying at a mod is vs. Disney? We'd be going during regular season. I know the room discount for a mod is 15% but am trying to see if a pacakge is a better deal. Thanks!

I'm wondering if I did get the most recent AAA code or not. :confused3

I really don't care about the water park tickets...I just want the best package price that I can get!

I've e-mailed my AAA TA--hopefully she can explain this all to me! I feel like I'm being kind of cheap--but it would be nice to save as much as I can! ;)

I wasn't told anything about a Planet Hollywood voucher? Or any other perks...I guess I should read thru my AAA brochure again!

My AAA TA confirmed the Planet Hollywood vouchers but said no other code special to AAA @ this time but is expecting something to be released by the end of this month for January as January is AAA Disney month. Has anyone else heard this?

I think it depends on what you have.

The new package saves $85 per park hopper plus 10 percent of the hotel price off rack.

Standard AAA discount is 15 to 20 percent off rack.

So whether the new package is better or worse for you depends on (1) how many park tickets you are getting, and (2) how many nights you're staying and at what rate.

Let me give an example: Suppose you have 4 park hoppers and 5 nights at POP, where rack is $100 (just making this up). The package will save you $390. Your AAA savings would have been $100. So the package is better.

But now assume you had 2 park hoppers without the plusses and are staying 7 nights at the Poly where rack is $400 (again, just making up the rack number for illustration). In that circumstance, the package should save you $440, plus you'd get the plusses for free. Your AAA alone savings, however, would be $510, so AAA would be better (if you don't need the pluses).

I just heard from my AAA TA.

She said she did book me with the new codes. She told me that, for some reason, people booked in moderates were not seeing as much of a discount as those booked in deluxe or value resorts. :confused3

Originally, we had booked a regular AAA MYW package with dining, 6 nights @ POFQ, value season, standard view, 2 adults, 6 day hoppers. Our price was $1672.

We added a night, so our new price is now $1878. This works out to be about the same pricing, considering that we did add a night--$123 for the hotel, another days' worth of dining for 2 adults, and another day to our hopper.

I guess I'm done wondering if I can get a better price!

After looking around at a lot of different sources and playing around myself on the internet, here's the lowdown on the two different deals being offered right now for January - March, which hopefully will clear up the confusion between the AAA discounts and the disney MYW discounts.

1) The new MYW discount appears to be pretty simple. It's 10 percent off rack for the room, plus free hopping and pluses on MYW tickets. This is an $85.00 value per ticket. So, if you want to know how much you'd be saving using the MYW package, it's 10 percent of the rack rate for your hotel, times 1.115, plus $85 per ticket.

If you don't need the pluses or the hoppers, you're losing a lot of the savings. For example, if you already had a package that did NOT include hopping or pluses, the savings of this package will seem like a lot less -- up to $85 per ticket less.

2) The only package discounts currently available to AAA for this period appear to be ones in which the discount is just the standard AAA discount on rooms. Thus, you'll pay full price for MYW tickets and full price for dining, but you'll get 10 to 20 percent off the rack room rate. (Peak season: 10 percent for deluxes, 15 percent for others. Value season: 15 percent for deluxes, 20 percent for others.)

Make sense?

This is what someone told me last week too. I asked my AAA TA today and she made me feel like I was crazy. She said that she knew nothing about that. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since I had to tell her about the new promotion Disney is offering almost a week after it's release. If someone hears anything about AAA Disney month please post.

On a side note, if anyone has a good recommendation for a TA at AAA Carolinas please PM me. I would love to have someone else to talk to when I have questions. My current TA is not much help. Thanks.

I've been reading posts for two days searching for an answer and I still can't figure it all out. I'm a AAA member. I'm thinking about booking a package for February. The new MYW package with the free pluses offered by WDW I can figure out on line. Does AAA have a comparable package (with the free pluses) which saves additional over what can be booked on line?

Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this for me. Last time I requested a quote on line from AAA it ended up being more than the one I priced on line at WDW. This time I'll deal directly with an actual agent if it's worth my while. I'd need to have enough savings to offset the aggravation of waiting for my AAA travel agent to respond to any inquiry I make. Of course that's another issue altogether! :teeth:

Well, I thought that I had saved money booking via AAA--but, I just went online to WDW's website and I'm getting the same exact price! We have the "new package" (hoppers, water park option). We are staying at POFQ, 7 nights, 7 day passes, standard view and Dining package. Our price from AAA agent and the website is exactly the same--$1878.30 (2 adults).

So, it is up to you...I used a AAA agent that has been mentioned here on the Dis...Michelle Shears --she was very helpful when I had to change my ressies a couple of times. She is in the Carolina's and I live in California--but it worked great! You do get a few other perks with AAA--I think that you get a preferred parking pass, a voucher for Planet Hollywood, you also get access to a AAA lounge at MK (I think?)...

To book this package online...from the WDW home page--click the vacation special that says something like $433 vacation package"--pick your resort, etc., ticket option, and then at the top click "Disney recommends" and it will add the dining plan.

Hope this helps!

I saved around $250 off of my package with AAA with the free pluses. We are staying at the POR with 5 people and have the dining plan. Going Feb 15-22. I think the savings depends on when and where you stay. GOOD LUCK.

Did your original package include tickets with pluses? Were the packages identical and the savings came from not paying for the plus/hopping option?

Thanks.

Thanks.

I save about $222 before the code came out with the plus/hopping option. I did not save much more with adding those on but every little bit counts.

So before the plus/hopping option I had a MYW package = room/tickets/dining and saved around $222.00 using AAA over the quote I got from disney (from the webside and calling direct). So when they used the code for the park hopping options I saved around 286 I think.

AAA did save me money and that is not including the extras that were mentioned above.
