So did anyone with an AAA package use the new code to save more?

We saved around $150. My AAA agent said she was able to use the code on top of the AAA rate, she said that you should not lose your AAA rate because there is a code. I'm happy to save any amount!

Did your original package include tickets with pluses? Were the packages identical and the savings came from not paying for the plus/hopping option?

Thanks.

You didn't ask me this question--but I thought I would answer your question too!

Originally, I had a MYW package with dining and hoppers--the WDW website price for that is $2094.16--now, I have the MYW package with water parks and hoppers and my AAA price is $1878.30 (a savings of $215.86) If you count the fact that I'm getting the water park option extra it's actually more of a savings ($311.74). My room rate is still AAA discounted.

My AAA agent told me that some deluxes and value resorts are seeing bigger savings than the moderates for my time frame... :confused3

I could have booked it myself for the same price on the WDW website as I got going thru AAA...it normally doesn't work out like that!

Thanks everybody. I think I understand now. The new AAA special package costs the same as the special on the WDW site. You do get additional perks booking through AAA (parking pass, lounge, etc). To be sure I'm going to ask for a quote from AAA and compare to booking the special online.

Now if Southwest would just produce a fare sale for February before booking deadline. :)

Mine was cheaper than what they quote on the WDW site. I saved 280 something over the regular price with my AAA discount.

Dumby,

Just curious...

Did you compare your price to the MYW pricing on WDW website or the new deal for Jan-March that gives you the hoppers and water park passes for free?

My pricing was very different depending on which "vacation package deal" icon I clicked on. I questioned my AAA agent again to make it clear that I wanted the best price available to me and she told me this was it!

I had compared before the new code came out and AAA saved me about $222 over what Disney offered. After the code came out I called and at first it was going to cost me more to use the code as they said they could not use the code on top of the AAA discount. BUT then the next day my agent called and said that there was a new code that was exclusive for AAA agents to use on their packages that included all the same options park hopper/water parks etc. With this new code I think I saved around 30 or so more dollars on top of the already saved $222. So I think it came to approximately 260-280 that I saved by using the AAA discount. I am at a POR with dining.

My agent said people at the moderates did not save as much as the ones at the values/deluxe resorts. Not sure why. Hope this helps.

I feel pretty comfortable that I've saved money too. I just didn't think that the free water park option was a great perk for me and this trip--my mom really doesn't care about going to the water parks! Now, if my kids were going to be with us--they'd be thrilled! ;)

but we had to switch value resorts [from ASMo to POP]. We have 2 connecting rooms also so that's probably why we saved $100 more. Our original savings was about $220 over rack rate so now we've saved $320 over rack and have some extra perks, it's nice to get the park hopper that we already booked free. I doubt we'll be hitting the water parks though. I still wish it was free dining. ;o)

I was hoping for free dining too! ;)

Is the new code only good through March 8th? Not for sure which code you were talking about and our vacation is March18-25. I just cancelled my disney travel vacation and got an AAA membership and rebooked. Glad I did!!!

I've received my quote. It's the same cost as the special package if booked directly with WDW. The AAA booking benefit would be the parking pass, 1 time lounge use, & discount card.

Still waiting for that Southwest fare sale. :teeth:

Yep...me too! But, I think it's good to have the extra AAA perks too. I got nervous waiting for airfares to go down...so I grabbed a good one when I saw it. No SW for us on the west coast--it's usually at least a 2 stop ordeal to go to Orlando :earseek:

Have a great trip!

I'm a AAA member and when we were originally looking at wdw.com to book our January trip back in July, the rate for 8 nights at the WL with passes (not parkhopper, just base) our rate on Disney's website was $3700...only $90 cheaper than the Contemporary rate.

We priced it through AAA and she quoted us the same # of days at the WL with parkhoppers for $2900!

Oh - and airfare...we got a free companion ticket voucher thru Disney Visa, but we found Southwest specials at booked RT air for 88/person, including taxes...

Keep an eye on Southwest...they have awesome specials!

i JSUT BOOKED MY TRIP WITH AAA AND THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN PRICE BETWEEN THEM AND DISCOUNT DISNEY TRAVEL AGENCY(THE OTHER ONE I WAS LOOKING AT). THERE WAS A FEW PERKS THAT I GOT FROM TRIPLE AAA THOUGH: A CHARACHTER STORYTELLING ( THIS IS NEW FOR AAA) CLOSER PARKING WHICH IS GOOD SINCE I AM DRIVING, THE REST AREA IN DISNEY AND ASICALLY WHATEVER ELSE THEY GIVE YOU WHEN YOU BOOK.

CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT TEH STORYTELLING IS THOUGH MY 3 YR OLD WILL HAVE A BLAST WITH THAT.

::MickeyMo

HOPE THIS HELPS
THE SCHMIDT FAMILY SKYLER (DAD), JAMIE (MOM) AND OF COURSE MY 3 YR OLD ETHAN
