So, Dh had the dog out for a walk yesterday...

And a car pulls up next door, people get out, go up to the door, turn around and get back into their car. DH jokingly says "that was a quick visit" and they said "it was the wrong house" . They had their arms full of presents, etc. too. Then they asked Dh if he knew where 3020 was-Dh said no, we are visiting too. I am thinking, ok, the house you were at has 3016 on the mailbox, maybe go down 2 more houses???

when I was little we did that too. The sad part is, it was at the house of one of my mom's best friends that only lived in the next town.

In her defense, the houses did look very similar and it was night time. All 5 of us stood on the front steps with presents and food in hand and then some strange guy opened the door. Her friend's house was only a few houses down the street.

We have been on the other end... We had a knock on our door at 10:30 at night... they were looking for house number 35 we are 45!!

That reminds me of one of our funniest Christmas memories! We have a huge brunch here Christmas morning for my parents, my sister and her family....usually about 14 of us and it's loud and chaotic and so much fun. We were setting up and I turned around in the kitchen and there was a lady standing there, arms full of gifts, looking a little baffled. Turns out she had let her self in through the garage, but meant to be next door. We all had a huge laugh about it, and invited her to join us but she figured she had better go where she was expected. It was just such a surprise to see a stranger standing in my kitchen!

A couple of years ago, UPS dropped off a huge box on my front porch. Rubbing my hands with glee, I went out to retrieve it, hauled it inside, got out the scissors, only to notice it was addressed to my next door neighbor.

Yesterday me & dh sent dd11 up to the front door to ring the bell. My Aunt had a new house built recently and we had only been there once. I didn't recognize the truck out front and didn't see her car (it was in the garage) Needless to say it was the right house but boy did we get some funny comments during dinner.
