And then asks, " can't we just be spontaneous?!":rotfl2::rotfl2:

Surely, he's joking-but apparently not! :rolleyes1

How do you meet somewhere in the middle-
Or, simply tell him-to take a running jump?:rotfl:

Btw-trip is in 12 days.

Tell him he can be spontaneous. You're just gonna line up a few things "in case". Then just plan whatever you want anyway.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

He'll think your being spontaneous when in reality you planned to be there at the moment anyways... :lmao::lmao:

You plan everything anyway. Wait till noon on your first very hot MK day and say "Hey, let's go see the new Mine Train" very "spontaneously"

Approach, see 80+ minute wait time, ask "Isn't being spontaneous fun?", show him all FP+ you have booked on MDE :D

Yep. This was the strategy I used on our second one-day Disneyland trip, after the first one when I got teased mercilessly by my brother. Second time I just kept coming up with really really good ideas the instant someone brought out their map with the question "so what do we wanna do next?" It was amazing how I knew what to do. Almost like...I'd planned it...

There's time for spontaneity in between the planned times. Planning big things out makes room for spontaneity.

:lmao: I love the responses. And yes, that's pretty much how I do it and dh more or less knows that's what is going on.

My boyfriend has said the same thing in the past. I always find it hysterical, since he has never been there and really has no idea what to expect. We are going with 2 other couples and it has been planning mania recently! The ladies always sit around and plan while the guys just end up talking about comics or football or whatever else in another room in the house. The women love the planning and I think we prefer that the men don't get involved. With the trip less than 2 months away now, and all of our ADRs (been done for 3 months already) and FP+ booked, the planning is finally "over". He's finally started to understand that this is a trip that needs to be PLANNED! :rotfl: Luckily for us we are going for 14 nights so there will be plenty of time for spontaneity in between all the plans! :goodvibes

My husband thinks all of our trips just happen spontaneously. Plan away and while you're there just make some "spontaneous" suggestions on what to do next! :)

My son-in-law now realizes the planning is necessary, but it doesn't stop him from saying that anytime he leaves my daughter and I alone for 5 minutes we start a planning conversation for the next trip - 5 months away!

Yeah, my husband wanted to be spontaneous too over Memorial Weekend 2014.

And then we got there and saw lines from 30 minutes and up everywhere. He was suddenly glad I had made plans. I did make some mistakes with the FP+ though. Now I know better for next time.

My husband always thinks I overthink and over plan things...then when he sees the standby lines and unavailability of some of his favorite restaurants, I am once again the Disney Goddess!!!

Shut him down -- NOW!!

My wife is the same way. I do all the planning and have everything ready and paid for pretty much up front. I also have a gift cards lined up for gift purchases. I think she will not be complaining come a hot day or dinner time on the far side of Epcot when I have Biergarten ADR'd.

I also tell my family the plans are just in case, but if it's slow we can cancel them and do whatever. We haven't cancelled them yet.

Yup.

And my whole family became rope drop believers Christmas week 2012 when I suggested we just "try it". We were fine and headed to rest as the masses arrived. I had 0 trouble after that!

The trip I'm planning now, DH said "book it, and work your magic"
