Hmmm... She said, "Mom,I got a great part! I'm the wife of the writer." :confused3 Huh? Oh, yeah. The play is "A Clockwork Orange" Ye gods!:sad2: Her character is brutally attacked and killed. I'm not sure her Daddy is going to take this well...

She is pumped, though. They're taking this to competition and she can't wait to fight and scream and die violently for her school. You know, all that emoting...

As soon as I saw "A Clockwork Orange," I went: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

:lmao: Ah, to be young and 17 again. At least it's a one-act. Your house will be fun. ;)

Congratulations to your DD!

My ds had to kill a girl in a scene last year. I didn't know it until I watched it. :scared1::scared1:

Congratulations to your DD! We still haven't had One Act auditions yet. In fact, the last I heard, the director still hasn't picked the show. Of course, they just returned from Edinburgh and The Fringe Festival, so perhaps we'll know soon.

I might be confusing you with another poster, but didn't your daughter just have an accident or get injured recently? How is she going to manage such a horrific death scene? ;)

How can you condense A Clockwork Orange into a one act play? The movie itself is told in three acts.

Oh, congrats to your daughter for getting the part.

I believe they just preform one act of the three.

Maybe, it's the Cliff Notes version. Probably a HS version of the play would leave out a lot of the nuances.

You'd have to cut out a lot of the more gruesome/violent scenes for a high school play.

Congratulations to your daughter - and yes, wasn't she made dance captain as well?

Congrats to your DD.

DS was in A Lie of the Mind (Jake) last fall. I usually see every performance when he has a lead but that one I only went the first night. I just couldn't watch him go through all the emotion! He says it was his best accomplishment on stage so far! Different perspectives for sure!
