So confused - WL or BC ? Please, I need a tie breaking reason

BC- SAB, walking distance to EPCOT, lots of good places to eat, daybeds
Current Standard rack rate = $334 - would hope for an AP rate of $254 or there abouts.

WL - decent pool, boat to MK, we have HDD ressies - so easy to get there from WL, bunkbeds. Current Standard rack rate = $239 - would hope for an AP rate of $159 or there abouts.

Major differences
BC - SAB, walk to EPCOT and $100 more
WL - boat to MK and $100 less

We are AAA members and will have AP tickets.
We are staying for 2 weeks at WDW.

We like to eat at Cape May Buffet, 1900 Park Faire, Crystal Palace, Cinderella Castle, O'Hana, Le Cellier, Liberty Tree Tavern, and Hollywood & Vine.

Our DS will not sleep in the same bed as our DD.

PLEASE tell me which resort - BC or WL - would you stay at and why.
I am soooo confused

Why not split your stay? Since you're staying for 2 weeks, you could spend 1 week at WL, 1 week at BC. This way you get to try both resorts, getting the best of both worlds.

I agree, if you have 2 wonderful weeks to be a WDW I would stay at the WL for the first week & BC the next..That sounds like a perfect vacation & you get to sample what both have to offer.

I have never stayed at either, but both sound wonderful to me! How important of an issue is money. That extra $100 a night is an extra $1400 over two weeks! For most people that is a chunck of change!!!

Why not split your stay to enjoy the benefits of both?!? Two weeks is a long time in one spot. I think you might really enjoy having two vacations in one! Whichever way you decide to go, I hope you have a magical vacation!

If you do not wish to split your stay between the two resorts (as others are suggesting), then I would pick the Beach Club. Especially since you will be there for two weeks. There is a lot to do right there with the World Showcase & Boardwalk a couple of minutes away. Tons of restaurants. Oh yeah, and the awesome pool. The YC/BC is definitely a place where you could stay for a couple of weeks.

When will you be traveling and how old are your children?

Younger kids - go with WL
Older kids - go with BC

See - that was easy.

Seriously, both of my kids found the slide at WL to be very small and lame. There is no guarentee you will have bunk beds. We did love having the food court available.

Epcot area is our favorite area to stay. So much going on in the evenings and SAB is a blast! Good luck with your decision!

I will ask my DH. He does not like to move, once settled in.

GEETEY - DS will be 14 and DD 11 - yes they want SAB. But they always do not get their way. 1 week of SAB (2nd week) may be OK. It'll be 3 years since they have been to WDW. So maybe more Park time the 1st week and more relaxation time (SAB) the 2nd week.

Another vote to split the stay! We are owners at both the DVC properties at WL and BC. We love to spend our first week at VWL and enjoy MK, renting watermice boats, going to the various Monorail resort restaurants, etc... It is very peaceful and relaxing there.

Then its off to the BCV during the second week. We LOVE SAB, walking to Epcot and MGM (or boating) and having access to tons of restaurants and some nightlife. Its like two very different vacations in one!

Disney makes the move fairly painless. You can just have bell services pick up your bags at one hotel, and have them transported to the other while you spend the day in a park. Return to the new hotel after your park fun and your bags should be there by around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. Very convenient!

I would split stay if I were you, if not then I would say BCV since your children absolutely refuse to share a bed. Growing up, we were never given the option to refuse sharing a bed we just shared. We were 3 girls and one boy.

I also agree with the split trip between both resorts especially for a two week stay. We have stayed at BC and it is a WONDERFUL pool area and Epcot is SOOO close. We are splitting our one week between CBR and WL on a last minute trip since we have APs. I am looking forward to seeing WL and all it has to offer. I like that it is so close to MK (my favorite). We got the Woods view AP rate for $155.00 in July. Standard room were gone already!
Gosh I would love to have two weeks straight in WDW! So lucky!

Split the stay! If not, save money and go to the Wilderness Lodge. I loved it there in February.

In August, I'm staying 6 nights in a 2 BR at SSR, the weekend (2 nites) at the AKL, and 3 nights at the BCV in a 2 BR. I can't decide either so I just stay at them all! This will be our first trip changing resorts so we'll see how we really like it in August!

I would split, but if you have to choose one, I would pick the Beach Club. When are you going, that would influence my choice also.

I vote to split!!! Do the Mk and AK when at WL (the bus to AK is quick and only shares with the GF-we took this bus the Sat ofThanksgiving weekend and it was VERY painless). I would do the WL first, then move on to the BC and spend your time at MGM and Epcot.

My DH doesn't like to move either. Sorry if I missed it, but when are you going to be there? The reason I ask is because if it is in the winter months, you may not be using the pool (we were at YC one year in March and only got into SAB once because it was too cool and windy!). If you are going during the cooler months, it may not be worth the extra $$ for a pool you won't use.

I wouldn't pay for a garden view at BC. Standard is fine - just request close to the lobby so you won't have that loooooooooong hallway walk. Actually, we had a standard view at WL as well - it was a view of some bushes and the Villas. Save some $$ and let the family have some fun with the water mice at WL.

I envy you the 2 week trip! Have fun planning it because you know you are going to have a blast there!!

If money were no object, I would say the Beach Club all of the way, but you interjected money and that changes things. Personally I didn't care for WL. I like the common areas but even with a Jr. Suite we were disappointed in the room size and layout for 6 people. No drawer space. If you are going to do WL, do it first because I think part of the reason I experienced a let down was because we left the Yacht Club to stay there. I go with those who say, split the stay.

DS likes everyone voting for the BC.
We are going June 24 through July 8th (I think) next year.
It will be warm & crowded.

We are celebrating our 21st anniversary too - July 1st.
I plan on a WDW florist gift for us - flowers, bubbly and some disney glasses.

We plan on seeing the EPCOT 4th of July fire works - so walking back will be great.

I really hope for the AP rates to be there.
Thanks for the OK of a standard room. It's all we can do.
I think garden for 14 nights - an extra $500 is out of our budget.
$500 is 3 days worth of food - we do $150/day (budget) - some days more, some days less. (we do breakfast in the room except for Cindy's and Cape May)

Sorry to WL lovers - my DS is protesting the idea of WL - I guess because of the previous post of a 'lame boring pool slide'- He's 14 and has totally out grown anything 'childish'. He saw the POR dragon tongue slide and said it was made for babies.

I do like to hear all the opinions. My DS can be persuaded if the rest of the
family agrees to split the stay. Even 5 nights WL and 9 nights BC.

If you stay at the WL and get a woods view room ask for a room in the north wing.(view of MK and overlooking the otter pond) You have a view of the castle and wishes. With a two week trip I might consider both the WL and BC. I'm like your husband about moving, but since this is a long stay, it might be best.

We haven't stayed at BC, but have stayed at WL several times and really like it.

I voted for BC, though it is a tough call! The rooms at BC will be bigger and we love SAB! The theming is nice at BC and it is close to MGM and walking distance to Epcot and Fantasia mini golf! There will also be a lot of restaurant choices available! We also love the ambience at WL and the closeness to MK! Dinner at AP will be great also! It is a tough choice, but I think you will enjoy your stay at whichever resort you chose !
