So, Canadian Lumberjacks are "on hiatus"

So in other words on one of the busiest weekends of the year there will be no entertainment in Canada. Boy Disney I'm so impressed with how you entertain your guests. I just don't think current management gets it

I've never seen Off Kilter, but caught the Lumberjack show last week and it was awful. I can see them at a county fair, but certainly not at Disney. It would be better to have no entertainment at all than those bozos!

I hear there is a holiday band playing now at the stage called Canadian Voyageurs, as mentioned by a PP. Has anyone seen them? I've heard they're actually Off Kilter dressed for the holidays. Any truth to this?

During heavy visitation periods the entertainment venues tend to draw crowds that impede the normal flow of guest traffic around the main walkway in the WS. They really need to put all of these acts off the beaten path in secluded spots to prevent crowds from loitering in the walkways.

Don't worry they are not worried about crowd flow unless it interferes with your access to a gift shop. Got to pay for Tragic Bands

Thank goodness that they have eliminated parades from the WS as well as the old character bus. With the elimination of the fife and drum corps and some of the other acts the WS doesn't suffer as much from the crowd blockage of the past. Epcot is on the right track with entertainment reductions but it will take them some more time to move these acts out of the main walkways. Many of these acts tend to draw rubberneckers just like an unexpected traffic accident and impede the pedestrian flow around the WS.

And Jamie (the bagpiper) is not one of them. Apparently a lot of folks are looking for him specifically but he's not in the Voyageurs.

I agree there should not be a parade in the World Showcase. It is too much of a long term traffic nightmare. However I do not get behind eliminating the "street" entertainment just because it occasionally causes some blockage. and Epcot did not "eliminate" most of the street entertainment, they just "laid off" their own employees who were providing it and substituted third party contracted acts.

The truth is, who would turn down Disney if they came and asked you to do your show in their parks? That's big money.

If people want to be mad about OK leaving, then take it up with Disney, but the current performers don't deserve the brunt of the anger. They're just doing their show.

The thing is, they're NOT really good at what they do. Definitely a cheap third rate lumberjack style show.

Yes, it's unfair to compare them to the show they replaced. But even by themselves, it's a crap act, worthy of being called bums and bozos.

I appear to be alone. I went to Epcot because of the entertainment. But loosing guests will have the desired effect, you will not be impeded as you go from shop to shop. (Or bar to bar. Drinking may soon be the only form of entertainment )
