until Jan. 4. Anyone with info on why? Just due to normal Christmas activities? Or is Disney re-evaluating the decision to replace Off Kilter with such a limited version of a lumberjack show?

I have no inside knowledge but I would guess with holiday story tellers, and everything else going on, that show would just be too noisy. Now if the company could have figured out a way to have them appearing to cut down Christmas trees and sell them to us locals I'm sure they would not be on hiatus.

Don't give them any ideas.....

I'm guessing this was planned because of the holiday thing..but I sure hope they are gone for good.

They did draw a decent crowd and the crowd seemed to be into it unfortunately..but the noise from the chainsaws was completely ridiculous for Epcot.

We can only hope that somebody is coming to their senses.

Couldn't agree more, we watched it last month and I was actually embarrassed for them all.

This. We were in Epcot several times last week and the noise of the chainsaws was just so out of place. The show's on hiatus now so the Holiday Voyageurs can use the stage.

My "GUESS" is they just decided there was no way for the Lumberingjacks and CHV to share The Mill Stage.:)

The decision must be very recent as Steve Soares is showing them both performing this week.:)

Hope they are gone for good, saw them last month and it was embarrasing :worried: Bring back the men in kilts!:cool1::cool1:

Many marginal TV shows go "on hiatus" and never return. Hopefully it's the same with these bozos.

We enjoyed the lumberjacks two weeks ago, as did the 200 or so people around us. We overheard some of them saying it was an improvement over Off Kilter, which we never bothered to watch for more than 30 seconds. It's like everything else- the upset people complain, those who don't mind the change have no reason to post, but it's definitely not a unanimous negative sentiment on the change.

I just don't like the sound of chainsaws. For me it's like nails on a chalkboard. Did you find it to be loud?

Even though I was never a fan of OK I didn't here anyone say they were an improvement over OK. I did stop and watch the show a few times...just because I could not believe just how bad it was.

I agree that had a decent crowd and got a much better reaction then I expected..but I heard quite a few people commenting walking buy and yelling OK etc...
At least at F&W there were a lot of unhappy OK fans.

What I did hear more of was a lot of complaining about the noise of the chainsaws.

All that show did for me was bring back horrid memories of needing to use the blasted things since we heated with a wood stove ... yeah that was me, the stereo-typical Canuck who lived in a house made out of cedar planks with a pot-belly stove, as a teen i was SOOOO EMBARRASSED! (oh the shame :rotfl2: )

:thumbsup2 We saw them a few weeks ago and they had a huge crowd and everyone seemed to be enjoying it. I lost interest in Off Kilter when they stopped using bagpipes. They became just another cover band to me.

Each show we saw without a piper caused us to think he was no longer part of the show. Then he would reappear next time. So we decided that they had not "stopped using bagpipes," but that the piper sometimes had a day off different from other band members. I've seen subs for the other instruments as well. I hope to see CHV so that Canada isn't without a holiday show/story. I would guess that the chainsaw noise messed with the holiday atmosphere including storytellers around the world, hence the hiatus. Time will tell...

I am glad to see the 'lumberjerks'(as my DH called them) on hiatus. I made it through about 10 minutes of only one show last week. I was, and still am, a huge OK fan so I couldn't stand the new show. I can only hope that WDW comes to their senses and bring back OK. I used to plan my Epcot days around the OK and British Invasion shows. Not sure what happened to British Invasion, either. I liked the early 'Beatles' look, not the heavy metal group that was there last week. I feel so disappointed in the live entertainment at EPCOT currently - I just did not feel the same about what used to be my favorite park.

I did enjoy the band, sometimes they would slip in a Canadian Band's rif or song however people, You do realize there is nothing Canadian about this band.:lmao:

Actually, OK are quite Canadian- since Canada happens to have the largest population of transplanted Scots in the world-- hence "Nova Scotia".
