HELP!

To make a long story short, AAA wouldn't sell us the character breakfast tickets and I'm now having to scrounge around 4 days before we are scheduled to leave. I've looked at GAT but any discount is quickly lost by having to pay express shipping. Disney website doesn't sell just the tix to character breakfast (you have to buy a package), so does anyone know if I can just buy them once I'm there?? And where??

Thanks!:worship:

Why would you need tickets? The last time we went to a char meal there, we used the tix to pay for two of them, but we just paid cash for Minnie & friends.

You can purchase the character meal when you are there. If you are planning to go to Goofy's Kitchen, for example, just go there and pay for your character meal. You don't have to have purchased tickets in advance for it.

If you still would like to purchase in advance, you can do so through GAT. They used to have a discount code, "Podcast" that waived the $10 handling fee. They disabled it because it was being abused; but somebody on these boards reported just last week that if you CALL, and mention over the phone that you had wanted to use the "podcast" discount, they will give it to you.

Thanks! I did try GAT, the podcast code isn't working online. Since I'm leaving in 4 days I would have to express ship at $25. So any discount is lost...

I didn't know that you didn't have to have tickets! For some reason I thought you had to have tickets in order to do the character meals. Not sure where I got that?!? :rolleyes1 So we will just buy our character meal once we are there. Do you eat first then pay?

I just bought tix from anaheimoc.org and the tix were cheaper than any day that you would just walk up to & buy (even with aaa discount). Also, you get like an e - ticket. So you can buy them now and then print out your voucher and then once you get there, you just go to a ticket window and get your actual ticket........ no shipping!

I just bought mine last week and we'll be there tomorrow.......

good luck!

I thought that's what you did with GAT, too....:confused3

well, i don't know, the OP was talkkng about having to pay for express shipping - i was merely suggested using this other service that you don't need to worry about any of the shipping....

Cheers!!!!!!!!! Were outta here tomorrow! ;) xxoo

Bumbershoot...that's what I thought too!

However, when I went to order them it gave me several options, standard shipping and 2 different express options. The only one that might have worked was 1-3 days at $25. Add that to the $10 handling fee and any discount I would have saved is long gone!

Monique...I'll try that website! Thanks!

You pay, then eat. Priority Seating is suggested, or you might be in for a bit of a wait. When you first get to DL, you can have the concierge desk (if staying on-site) try to make PS arrangements for you for the meal time you want. If you are staying off-site, you can go to the restaurant and try to make PS before the day of your character meal. Good luck and enjoy!!!

If I remember correctly, at Goofy's and Minnie's, we paid first, but at Ariel's we paid after we ate.

We've never made reservations, nor have we purchased in advance. I didn't see any savings if we were to add it into our package, so I declined. There has never been a wait for the Lilo and stitch breakfast either, so it wasn't a big deal. This year, we're probably going to make priority seating arrangements at Goofy's Kitchen because it seems to be more popular.

Yes. GAT does that too. I ordered my character dining tickets online and I didn't know about the procedure. GAT didn't charge me for shipping even though the online invoice showed shipping charges. I called GAT and they told me the tickets will be at the DL ticket window for pick-up. I asked about the "podcast" code and they credited me back the $10 handling fee.

I also didn't know about selecting a date. I didn't select a date and it used the system date that I ordered the tickets on. The tickets were waiting for me at DL even though we're not going until Oct. GAT called DL and fixed the problem.

GAT was great! Their customer service was outstanding! I would gladly use them again and highly recommend them. After talking to their customer service, I'm not ever afraid of anything going wrong with them. They seem like a company that will take care of you.

FYI if you buy vouchers from GAT for Ariel's, you can also apply the amount of the voucher to the following restaurants: Gransville's Steakhouse, Hook's Pointe, Goofy's Kitchen, PCH Grill, Yamabuki, Storyteller's Cafe, Napa Rose, Blue Bayou, Carnation Cafe, Vineyard Room, and Wine Trattoria.

That really made my day since a while back my sis and I decided to buy the GAT vouchers for Ariel and now we werent so sure if we really wanted to go anymore. I think we will just apply the amount when we go to Blue Bayou instead !:cool1:

Thanks for all your help everyone!:goodvibes

I think I've decided to just pay for it once we get there. I made PS ressies last month (we are leaving in 4 days!), so I've already got that covered. Honestly, I just don't want to deal with the hassle of having to pick them up once I arrive. Since that day will be MM so I would have to pick up the night before....just not willing to do that to save a few bucks!;)

BTW, I did check out that website, anaheimoc.org and the savings was only like a couple bucks. Maybe I was looking at it wrong?? I got the impression is was a deeper savings....oh well....:confused3

I don't know about anahiem.org, but the GAT tickets include tax and gratuity. I believe that's where the real savings comes into play.

At the places with only ONE option to eat, you pay ahead of time (Goofy's and Minnie's only have buffet, and Ariel's breakfast is only one family style meal option). Storyteller's and Lilo/Stitch have both menu and buffet, so you pay afterwards.

Whew, I thought I had read that!

Yep, that's where I have always seen the price difference as well.
