OK, so I am a planner - a real planner. We will be going to So. Cal for a two week vacation next July (see-told you I was a planner). I have used these boards several times for our trips to Disneyworld.

So, here I am for my DL trip. My question really has to do with discounts to the attractions in So. Cal, including DL.

I know I read somewhere on these boards that there were losts of discount coupons on the hotels lobbies for area attractions. So, is it worth it to keep track of price of attraction tickets and purchase them ahead of time? Or are we better off waiting until we get to Cal?

I know for DW tickets, for example, if you find a good discount jump on it. It can be worth holding on to them.

We would be doing all the touristy stuff: DL, San Diego Zoo, Universal, Legoland, - well I am sure you get the picture. So, do we buy tickets when we see good discounts, or do we wait until we get to So. Cal?

Other than the websites for the attractions themselves, does anyone know of any good discount sites for tickets?

I appreciate your help and have a great day.

Hi Momoftwins
Try www.getawaytoday.org
This is where we got all of our attraction passes from (D/L, Universal, Knotts, Wild Animal Park) they also do Legoland, Seaworld, Sandiego Zoo.
For the most part they have a contract with these places which enables them to offer a FREE childs' ticket with each paying adult. This is a HUGE saving. They will send you out a brochure and also put you on a mailing list (there 2003 brochure which you'd be after will come out around about Sep/Oct this year).
We ordered them from here in Australia & they arrived within a fortnight. I have scoured the sites for better deals but haven't found any that quite match this (especially if you are travelling with kids - single Adults may find a better deal)
If you think you are a planner - we are going in 45 days now (yeah) and not only is this still a secret from our kids (12,9 & 5) but I have been planning and organising it since January in 2001.
Have fun
Hope this helps

I would definitely jump on any discounts that you can get that are good for the time period that you are going. Sometimes the parks offer good deals, other times they don't. Last summer I was able to get great deals on Sea World, Legoland, and the San Diego Zoo from Toys R US and Ralph's Market. In the past, Disneyland has offered good deals on hopper passes. Universal Studios had a deal with Sea World. You got both parks on one pass and had to use it within 14 days. It was a good value.
