My BIL and nephew are joining us on our Californian vacation. We have used airmiles for the majority of our park tickets (Disney, Seaworld etc), however my BIL has decided to purchase the Southern California City Pass and save his airmiles.

When he went to the travel agency to purchase, they gave him some sort of voucher and was told that he needs to present it at the DLR maingate to get the City Pass booklet.

Anyone experience this? What if we hadn't actually planned on going to DLR first?

We want to make sure he's got the right thing before we leave!

Have you read through the voucher? Does it say all that he was told?

The places that are included in the citypass also sell citypasses on their sites, so I imagine he could have picked up the booklet at any of those places. So while it doesn't sound like many have experienced, it doesn't sound totally *wrong*, either.

You could also check out the so cal citypass website...they might have an FAQ that covers this.

When we had the City Pass we got a real plastic Disneyland ticket and a paper booklet with tickets for the other parks.

This was a WDTC package though and we got our stuff when checking in at DLH. If you buy the pass on its own there may be a difference. Like bumbershoot says, the City Pass website should have some explanation.
