Keep in mind the wait times are also slightly inflated so you may walk up after RD and see a longer wait then there really is. It is a fun ride, but definitely not worth the insane wait times during the day.

That doesn't take into account the times they've closed the queue an hour before park closing.

Are you referring to 7 Dwarfs or Toy Story? TSMM does close early on fireworks nights, but then you can find extremely short lines right before the cutoff time. We've generally been able to ride Toy Story 3 times in the final 30 minutes before the fireworks show.

I've never heard of 7 Dwarfs closing early.

I agree that the interactive queue is fun and helps the time go by. If you are there at park close, get in line about 15 minutes before. The lines tend to be shorter.

we are so bummed that we did not get seven dwarfs mine train. Any suggestions? We will be there for rope drop but have heard they're still can be a long wait because everybody runs to it. Also, any suggestions on touring plan? We got 1030 -1130 for thunder mountain and 1:30 for space mountain and 830 for electrical parade. We are a group of 10.

I tried to do a touring plans but when I put in our fast pass times it says it won't work....

Do not give up! I managed to get FP+ for 7DMT for both days at MK last year. I ended up with 4 sets of overlapping times for a group of 8 people. I checked daily at various times till I had all of us within a 20-30 minute overlapping timeframe It took a few weeks and it was well worth checking. When I saw the wait times I was glad I did. One of the best tips I got on this forum.

7DMT closed early for us on our trip in August two years ago. Not sure if it did this past August, as we got FP+ for it and didn't need to wait in the standby queue.

I wonder if it was down due to technical difficulties. We've visited the last 2 summers and haven't seen it closed. We generally wait until the last half hour of operation so we can ride at least twice back to back.

On normal operating days, they shouldn't have unscheduled early closings. However, they do intentionally inflate the wait times in order to discourage late riders.

Hate to be a Debbie Downer, but Mine Train is not worth all the effort. If you can get in line and not wait too long, do it. Don't wait in a long line for it. It is a very disappointing short ride.
