So Angry!

I am so frustrated right now well my car had its MOT and Service which my dad was sorting out while I was at Uni well the mechanic at our local garage says to him has she had problems with her exhaust as its come lose and has been tied with cable tie not the rings that usually hold the exhaust on well I had my exhaust fall off when I first passed my test in July and my bf Jonathan and I went to Kwik fit thinking they are a reputable company but taking Jonathan so they wouldnt try and con me if i was on my own. Well they fixed it in no time and told Jonathan and I that they had put new rubbers on to hold the exhaust up but turns out they used cable tie im so mad, I mean it had come lose again I could have been on the motorway or anything for it to fall off on me again. :mad: Very very mad that a national trading standard company would do this.
 
Thats awful!

Why don't you call the manager at Kwik fit and tell him that you are going to contact the local paper with details of what happened......I am sure he will be more than willing to compensate you for your inconvenience? Worth a try.
 
Have you kept your receipt for the work Kwik Fit carried out in July? if you have proof the work wasn't carried out properly go back and complain to them.
 
Yeah we have all the details going in tommorow with my dad. I'm going to ring the head office of Kwik fit and also thinking about complaining to trading standards a national company shouldn't be trading like that. I'm more annoyed more than anything how they lied to me and Jonathan I mean if they didn't have the parts so had to secure it for the time being with cable do that and we would then get the rubber.
 

That is terrible.I would deffinatley take it up with Trading Standards without a doubt.I hope you get a good result tomorrow-keep us informed.x.
 
Well car is in kwik fit now and they are working on it. It was the more senior guys working today as well where as last time we took it in they all looked like junior mechanics. Hopefully it will be sorted before 1 as I need to get up to Jonathan's for when he finishes work so that we can head off to blackpool for the fireworks championship final.

Thanks everyone its all sorted now and the manager I spoke to in Kwikfit was very apologetic and extended the warrantie for another 3 years as it was due to end next month.
 
That is awful but im not surprised. We have had issues like that with KwikFit in the past - they used duct tape to "repair" our exhaust. Unfortunately as we were out of the years guarantee they denied everything!
