Well, someone stole money from my Child Support account!! It makes me so angry and sad bcs i don't know if i will ever get the money back.
We got now a debit card and it works like a check card too, well i called to check my balance and it was gone.
I called just now and they told me that there was some ATM Withd. I don't even used the atm, so they checked and it was done online, i don't shop on line for that reason, i don't know what happend.
They canceled the card and will issue another one, now i have to do a report, they are sending me some papers to fill out a report and maybe they return my money.

AHgggg I want to kill them! This is my kids money, for the orthodontics, school, etc.

Thanks for letting me vent!

:( I'm so sorry!!!! I hope the bank is willing to replace the money, banks are getting better about that kind of thing, but it varies from bank to bank. Good luck!

THank you!! I hope so too.

That's too bad. I hope you get your kids' money back. I would think that the transaction should be traceable and the crooks will get caught.

Not to alarm you, but I would be concerned about the integrity of your debit-card account and how in the world these low-lifes got hold of your account information.

Check the rest of your accounts - credit cards, savings accounts, checking accounts, etc. Make sure that everything else if ok. Maybe even check with one of the credit reporting agencies, make *sure* that none of your other information has been compromised.

good luck,
agnes!

If the bank is insured they should replace the money. The papers you'll have to fill out will most likely be one swearing you did not use the money yourself and then another agreeing to let the bank prosecute the person who stole your money if/when they catch them. I know when our account had money stolen from a person in another state that used a "sister" credit union DH had to fill out the form agreeing to prosecute twice. In additon to that the lady at the main branch called our local branch to ask questions about DH and I and if they thought we had lied about the stolen money. :confused3 I guess she thought we drove over 1,000 miles away to steal our own money yet DH worked that day and I used my card 7 miles from home to purchase gas. Yet the person that stole our money walked right into a police/fireman credit union and withdrew the money in person.

Thank You!

I hope so, this is a goverment account from the Georgia dept of Human Services, and they issue the card, and i have no idea, they told me that people sometimes "copy" the numbers from regular purchases, they used to send checks and i have this card for like a year already and never had a problem, so I hope they can get this jerks, i'll do a police report as soon as i get the paper work from them.
I know, we already called our bank, it makes me so sick!

Thank you for your advise!

So dumb questions!

Well, I hope so!
I'll do whatever it takes to catch them. They canceled the card and will issue a new one, I hope this will take care of the issue, i guess if they don't have the new card number they cannot steal it again.

I had a situation where I was using my own debit card to take money out of my own account at my own bank and the money never came out of the atm. The withdrawal showed up on my account online and I called the bank. They said they would investigate and gave me a temporary credit on my account for the disputed amount, which was nice but it was only $100 so not a big deal. Anyway, the bank called back a couple days later and the records from that ATM backed up my story and they redeposited the money into my account. They will get this fixed for you!

DH had his corporate credit card number stolen from a hotel in Miami. Someone that worked at the front desk took the number from his reservation and knowing it was a corporate card charged over $15,000 in just a few hours. It was VERY easy for them to track this down and did so in a matter of hours so I would think that it won't take long in your situation to get your money back. I am just sure they have people calling on a regular basis with your same story only they used the money themselves and are trying to get more!

Exactly! DH told me the same thing!

Oh gosh, I worked at the Front Desk in a hotel too, and yes is easy to get the numbers, but no way! How stupid.
I just hope that it won't happend again.

Thanks !!!!!
