We have Deluxe passes, but I thought this may be a way to help upgrade to Premiums next year, so I went looking around the website. I guess Disney is using a third party (I think it was called helping hands or something) to coordinate and verify volunteering. I went to the third party website, and while the disney features are still being worked out, I punched in my zip to get an idea of options. Guess what came up...the post office. That's right, the post office was the one and only volunteer organization listed in my zip code that I could schedule to volunteer at. Don't get me wrong, I do see the plus side of possible being able to get my own mail on time, if I was there to grab it. However, I was really expecting the red cross, united way, reading to kids, kind of volunteer work. So what's showing up in your zip?

I thought they weren't going to have organizations listed until the first of the year????

ETA: From the DLR website FAQ:

How do I sign up for the program?

Starting January 1, 2010, you may search for volunteer opportunities from this site and—once you've selected one—sign up to volunteer and complete your service. Before January 1, 2010, you can provide us with your contact information so that you can be reminded of when sign up begins and receive fun downloads in the meantime.

How can I find out if the organization I volunteer for is included in the program?

Volunteer opportunities are handled through HandsOn Network. Please visit their website at http://www.handsonnetwork.org/disney for more information on the volunteer organizations included their network.

from the FAQ area also, which is the link I followed...

I found that too. Hopefully they will add more organizations before January. Those may be just the ones currently involved with Hands On.... :confused3
