Let me start this by saying I love going fast and love everything about roller coasters EXCEPT the drops where you lose your stomach. I have told my dh more than once that if there were some way to jump on a roller coaster at the bottom of that big hill - I would be all over them. I love the rockin roller coaster at MGM - super fast, upside down but no drops!!!

That said - I have read varying reviews of the Mummy and I still can't figure out if it has drops, or if it's just fast with a lot of curves. I think it somewhat uses the same system as Rockin Roller Coaster where it shoots you off. Can someone help me out?? Thanks!

it has two drops, but you can't see them, and they're not large drops. the track design uses quick, steep angles to make them surprising. and it does use a LIM launch like Rock n Rollercoaster.

Three drops, not two.

The backwards one, the camelback, and the one after the fake unload.

I love the Mummy! It's a not to be missed attraction although other posts differ from this. I think it's well done, exciting and the effects are awesome. It's an attraction, not just a roller coaster.

I wasn't including the backwards one as not to spoil the surprise. technically, it has three LIM systems as well.

the drops are not bad.

if you look at the size of the building the mummy is in, you can see the coaster is not that tall.
it is nothing like the coasters over at ioa.

entire attraction is located inside the building.

try it once,
you'll like it !!

hey wait.......maybe i shouldn't encourage everyone to try this ride.
that means one more dude or dudette in front of me in the line....... :rolleyes1

I also hate rides with drops. It took me until the 3rd day of our 7 day vacation to get up enough nerve to ride the Mummy. It helped that I went on for the first time with my 14 year old son who had already rode it about 25 times. He was so cute, telling me everything that was going to happen on the ride right before it happened to ease my fears. There are 3 drops but they are small and none of them gave me the sensation of "taking my stomach". It's a fun ride and I rode it probably 20 times.

I didn't really classify this as a roller coaster, but more along the lines of a thrill ride with a story line....
lots of fun...

Can't wait to ride it next month!!!!

I actually lost my voice on that ride because I was screaming non-stop throughout the entire ride (as well as my little nephew). I wasn't nervous about the ride itself because I love roller coasters; I was more worried about what would pop out at me (I get really scared really easily :scared1: !!). The part with the beatles got me the most...I thought something was going to happen (if you have been in Honey I Shrunk the Audience - you might know what I'm talking about). - But all in all, it was a good ride and I was still scared every time after that when I rode it. (but that's the fun part about rides!!)
