Snuggies at Disney?

This makes me think of a hospital "johnnie" gown. Do you feel a breeze up your backside when you wear a snuggie?

That is what it seems like, a hospital gown... but thankfully it wraps all the way around. I try not to let my bare bum hang out the back. :rotfl:

I hope the quality is more like a 'Slanket' than a Snuggie.

You see, Slankets came first. They were invented by a rather clever college student who wanted a blanket with sleeves in it. They are of really good quality, thick and warm, and wash well...

Unfortunately, the patent office he went through didn't "Dot all their "I's" and some evil corporation with a LOT of money copied his idea and called it a "Snuggie" They're cheap, they "pill" and they get thin and fall apart after a couple of rounds in the washing machine. :headache:

Always look for the "Slanket" label ! Support the little guy !

Did he ever actually manage to manufacture the Slanket? I thought he couldn't because the Snuggie "beat him to it". I've never seen them in the stores.

If you want a *really* good quality version, try the n*a*p Comfy from Brookstone. It's made out of their wonderfully plush n*a*p blanket fabric, and extremely soft & warm. They wash well, also.

They even make a smaller travel-sized Comfy (which, given the heavens-knows-what condition of today's airplane blankets, sounds like a wonderful idea!)

He did, yes.

We own a couple of them, ( I think we bought them at Kohl's) and the actual guy has been selling them on QVC for the past three years or so...

He may be back this year as well, I'm not sure....

Yep! I remember seeing that guy on QVC, but I thought he knocked off the Snuggie, not the other way around.

I don't get a Snuggie.

Why don't you just buy a bathrobe? You get all the coverage AND it closes in the back (and the front)!!!

The idea behind the Snuggie is that you're sitting on the couch, you get cold, you drape the Snuggie over you to get warm. But since it has sleeves, you can still read, snack on popcorn, or whatever. If you have to get up, you just put the Snuggie to the side. Besides, I've never had a bathrobe that covered my legs & feet when I sat down.

We have slankets over here, rather than snuggies.

I actually prefer the name slanket too, it sounds more amusing.

Seriously going on my birthday list for my Mom to bring back from the podcast cruise!

I have a lovely chair in my room which rarely gets used because I snuggle up in my duvet. Mickey slanket for me please!

Slanket fan over here as well!! They are the best! Much better quality and the fabric is so nice. I've seen Snuggies and didn't like the material at all. As soon as my cats see the Slanket come out they are all over the couch bc they love it too LOL! I hope the Disney ones are more Slanket-like. If so - one is coming home with me next month! :thumbsup2

I never thought I would buy a Snuggie but after being in WDW this past weekend completely unprepared for 45 degree weather, I caved. I bought the blue Mickey Snuggie and to keep warm during the fireworks and ended up using it for the kids! I had brought them their own blanket but something was spilled on it so I had to give up my Snuggie. I fully intend to try it out this week while catching up with my DVR. :-)

What's the material like? Is is more felt-ish, or is it micro-fibery, or is it actual blanket material?

It seems to be more felt-ish but I'll have to look at it again. I had to ship it back home because we had no room in our suitcase and I really didn't get to use it because the kids stole it from me within the first five minutes! LOL I'll post again once it comes in the mail.

Cool! It looks like Mickey is giving you a hug.
Or, is Mickey holding it closed so you do not get that dreaded draft on your backside?

Is the photo a bad reproduction, or is a bad dye job on the cloth. Looks like a lot of places where the background color did not get covered. Yuck!

Price?

Are they only for sitting?
I am worried about them being open in back. Can you wear them so they open in front, so it looks like Mickey is giving you a hug from behind?

I have to ask? Do you plan to wear your snuggie naked? :rotfl:

The snuggies I have seen are open in the back. I think because they are mostly for sitting, they are oversized, meant to be more of a blanket than a robe.

I got my niece one last Christmas, not an official snuggie, but a very thick, plush one I found at TJ Maxx. She absolutely loves that thing.

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Wow. :rolleyes:

Lyn, a Snuggie is a blanket with sleeves. It is used so that you can keep warm under the blanket while having the option of working with your hands. It's not something you walk around wearing. I believe WDW is selling them so you can use them while sitting waiting for the parade and fireworks. The CM is only walking around wearing hers to demonstrate what it looks like. They're actually not safe to walk around wearing.

I own two Snuggies. One is a pink original and the other is an Alice in Wonderland version from another company. Both are fabulous and I use them all of the time. I'm so glad I caved into the trend and bought them. :)

Yeah, I guess maybe I kinda knew that.
The Snuggie seems a little too much like an "as seen on TV" gimmick. But I can see how it can work well, especially if you need to keep temps low in your home.
(One of the advantages of my apartment - the heat is included and I am never cold!)

Oh, it's totally an "as seen on TV" gimmick. But it happens to actually work. It's a great idea.

I have heard nothing about these being available online. It just makes for a good to excuse to get back to the World. ;)

Our WalMart has Snuggies in pink/TinkerBell and black/Mickey style for $15. I am not sure if they were accual as seen on TV "Snuggies". They were nice plush fleece. In the sleepwear area.

I am wearing my Disney blue snuggie while I am typing this. I love it!!! I wear it with the opening in the front while I am at my desk.
