:goodvibesHappy Thanksgiving Snowbirdies!!:goodvibes

Our trip was great!! It was awesome finally getting to meet Shelly and her family...she is so sweet..and her boys are so cute!! The little one is a bit shy, he reminded me of my youngest son....I wish we could have visited longer..that's the only thing about meeting at Disney...you gotta work it in around sooo much stuff!!! LOL.

Weather was great, crowds were low...MVMCP was good, but we won't do it again...with us having so much time at MK and the crowds being so low, we didnt need those extra hours to get in rides. The parade was pretty!! But it's expensive!! So, if we go back that week next year (which Mike said he would be up for:cutie:) we won't do the party. Not sure if I will do a TR or just put up some random pics and little details here for you guys!!! It will be later...I have been running crazy since I got home, and we just finished our Turkey dinner!!!!

Welcome Home Shawna ! So great to hear everything went so well! I think I have convinced my whole family that this past week would be a perfect time to go... so any more details on crowds and weather are much appreciated! :thumbsup2 Gives me more ammo :rolleyes1

Enjoy your day!

So I didn't go out for any Black Friday shopping today. I'm still trying to decide what to get people (other than my kids.) I got an email from Disney Store. The whole order was 20% off. Shipping was discounted. With a Dooney & Bourke bag purchase you could get a cosmetic bag for $15. I had been eyeing some bags on our last trip and just didn't want to spend that much money.

So tonight I was looking for a tree topper for my Disney tree. Thought I'd buy it at 20% off. Got some ornaments for $4 and $5 too. DH told me to buy the D&B bag. They didn't have a color I liked (white) in the style I had wanted. So I found a different one and it was ON SALE already!! Plus 20% off and the $15 cosmetic bag. My Christmas present!!!
My whole order didn't come to what I would have spent on the bag initially if I had bought it at the park! YIPPEE!!

So what did I buy?

Hope the link works! It's the tone on tone letter carrier bag! It says it's 7 1/2" X 7 1/2" Might be able to use it as a park bag. I'm sure it will be good for shopping!

I love that bag! I tried to talk Mike into letting me get it while I was there..but to no avail!! LOL..it is veeeerrrry cute! And I think it would be a great park bag!

Maybe I'll start baking. Have to decide what I want to make this year. Any suggestions?

My mom just made me a batch of paklava!

It wouldn't be so bad, but my husband doesn't like nuts (texture issue) so... I have a full batch. I guess I'll bring some to the doctor's office on Monday, some to a coworker I like, some to my husband's guy night... and then I'll die fat and happy by Christmas ;)

But otherwise, there's never a bad time for chocolate chip cookies! Or cookies with chocolate mint chips!

We do cookies, or chex mixes (kids looooved doing those last year!!), which of course is easier than:stir: with all that cookie dough! I always do my baking from scratch for Christmas gifts, so it gets tiresome. Also, I always do the big pan of peanut butter fudge!! and a little goes a long way, so one pan can be used in several gift baskets/tins. I might do something diff this year, just don't know what yet....I too am hunting new suggestions! finally got all my pics off the camera onto the laptop today-and loaded onto Walgreens so I could print them and run get them tonight. Then guess what? After all that the website said our store was temp. not servicing:confused3 Dang....I wanted to put them in the albums tonight!! Hopefully I can work on it tomorrow afternoon--then I can post some here when I get time! Still debating on whether or not to do a TR...if so, it'll be shoooort!

That is ADORABLE! I love it!!! Hmmm...think I may leave the pic up on the computer since Andy usually gets on to work after I go to bed! :rolleyes1

Hope you all had a relaxing Thanksgiving and a productive Black Friday if you went out. We went out to Toys R Us about 1030 pm (they opened at 10pm) but the line was wrapped around the building to get in and it wad COLD!!! Since there wasn't anything we HAD to have, we left and went home. I was going to order online, but their shipping charges were outragous! The "free shipping" was only on certain items, NONE of which I had in my cart. OH WELL. We went up Friday around noon and I was only able to get 1 of the things on my list. Guess I have some serious shopping to do between now and Christmas! :scared1:

Welcome home, Shawna!! Can't wait to hear the details from your trip :goodvibes

We did some Black Friday shopping but not until mid morning. There was nothing that I had to have. My husband has been shopping for weeks and pretty much has Rylan finished. I just need to cover Chase and the other kids in our lives. My sister pulled an all-nighter. She was in line at ToysRUs by 6 on thanksgiving for an IPod Touch for my nephew and then she went straight to Best Buy and stood in line all night in the cold and rain for a Nook for my niece. Not looking forward to the time when the boys need to have "the" gift.

Well, we did our Chanukah on Friday, since the whole family was together. (At least there's no more shopping! :rotfl:) Unfortunately, one of the kids was sick, so we did his Chanukah on Saturday with only part of the family. But we had a great time.

TWO WEEKS TO GO!

Just wanted to say Happy Holidays to all of my sweet Snowbird friends! :goodvibes Hope you are all doing well!

Okay, I've gotten subbed to Shelly and Shawna's TRs. Who wants to bet they finish theirs before I finish mine from JULY!?!

Hey Soleil! Nice to hear from you! Happy Holidays to you and yours as well!!

Hello Snowbirds! I've been gone from the DIS all weekend and now I'm trying to catch up. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We sure did! And, I had a super successful Black Friday. I'm nearly done with my shopping!

Hi Snowbirds
I haven't been in the mood to chat on here in a while but I will catch up soon- promise :) It has been a difficult Thanksgiving. A local family lost their 8 yr old son, Jack, on Thanksgiving night. He went to bed Thanksgiving night, woke up not feeling well, took a gasp and died. He had been not feeling well and his parents had taken him to the hospital a few days before. The doctors said it could be lyme disease and sent him home Wednesday with no real answers and a note that he could return to school on Monday. They are considering that he contracted meningitis but don't have any test results yet to be sure. His parents of course are beyond heartbroken. It is such a sad situation. He was such an active and energetic little boy. His nickname in the little kids football league was "Jumping Jack". It's so sad to think how quickly our lives can change. My kids are tired of me hugging them but I can't help but want to hold them close right now. Please pray for his parents and older brother as they struggle to accept this.

I can't even imagine . . . How hard this must be to get through, and Thanksgiving will be difficult for them every year from now on. My condolences to all of them, and to you too.
