I would choose early/mid November over January just because of the weather. There's a better chance for warmer temps and swimming days in early November. And you will get to see some of the Christmas stuff.

Crowd wise it is about the same. Just try to stay away from the F&W Festival if you can. Last year it ended the weekend we arrived in November. This year it was extended a week and was going on the entire time we were there. Epcot was significantly more crowded because of it.

It looks like F&W ends 11/13 next year. It should affect us if we check in on 11/12. I need to go make a list of pros and cons.

Has anyone been during the week after thanksgiving? I've been watching wait times on my iPhone app and it seems pretty busy. We'd rather go when the crowds are lower, as we have NO tolerance for people LOL

Happy Monday Chatty Snowbirds!!!

I was just thinking - last year at this time I was at WDW!!! Sniff sniff. I loved being there at holiday time.

Red - who are the two people you have left to buy for? Maybe we can help with ideas.

We got a bunch of snow again over the weekend -mostly Friday night into Saturday. Broke a wiper blade on my car with snow/ice buildup that I should have cleaned off better. So DH spent $40 and about an hour and a half replacing them.
Sarah did a show choir workshop and performed on Saturday afternoon - it was so cute! She loved it. I think I'm going to plant the seeds that she could be a Disney perfomer!! College Program...Yes, she's only 9, but still.

I baked some cookies this weekend while listening to my Christmas music (Mostly Disney of course) It was so fun!

Jan vs. Nov??? I think I would go with November. I agree, it would be more likely to have better weather. The holiday action is going on. I would say F&W, but if you aren't into it, that would be a negative. If you want to go, go during the week!

Hey Mindy~ We were there the 13-21st and it was awesome..weather and crowds!! you could just skip Epcot until the F&W ended, then plan days over there....jan is good too, but then you risk rain, cold, or the kids getting the sniffles....but if it was my only option I would take it!!! We have had lots better good weather days in Jan vs bad ones, but Nov was the best---hands down. and as far as people tolerance...I don't have any either!:ssst: I just don't do well in a high-crowd situation...this nov was great!!
Well...Sat my oldest turned 15!!! I can't believe it! I feel like I should be 15!!! LOL....We had to keep it low-key...he's at the age where he doesnt want any attention drawn to him in any way!! As you will see in the pics of my TR!!! I need to change my sig line:sad1: Very hard on mommy!! I have to order his drivers ed curr. too...keep forgetting, but we have to get started...
Kim...yeah, my childhood issues are monumental too! I would think by now I could shrug some of it off...but it has way of popping up in the certain situations...well...we just keep plugging along doing the best we can and praying for help as we go!:cutie:
OH!! I wanted to tell ya'll of a great site that I use--Betty Crocker...it's awesome...the recipes are pretty basic-not crazy stuff you've never heard of, and several variations for main dishes are usually available. BUT!!! I love the grocery list!! If you have several recipes you want to do for the week, just click them in your G.list and it compiles, and divides it all up!!! I have a few soups, chilis, on mine that I printed today so I can hit the store shortly! It's just very convenient so I thought I would share it with you!!!

Wow...you ladies have been chatty today! We woke up to quite a bit of snow this morning, but nothing worth closing schools over. I went out this afternoon to run errands and the roads were fine. There was a Scholastic Warehouse sale at a local hotel today (and tomorrow too) so I had to head over there. I bought Madison the newest Magic Tree House book (50% off) and the last 3 Diary of a Wimpy Kid books (25% off each). Great prices!

I also hit up the post office to mail out my Christmas cards, the mall to exchange a sweater I bought myself last week and to pick up some small gifts for Madison's dance teachers. It was definately a winter wonderland out there! Maddie's dance class was cancelled tonight which I don't quite understand. Oh well! More relaxtion time for me!

I'm quite excited for later tonight. I'm going to Ladies Night with my sister! It's being held at Reeds Jewelers/Jenss Decor (I don't know if they have those stores other places). Anyways...Jenss is where I buy all of my Vera Bradley!! It's a free event and there will be cocktails (not for me), snacks and desserts. Also, you can register to win a 1/2 carat diamond necklace!!! Everyone gets a free gift bag too which is awesome. They even let you try on the jewelry!!!

OK, I'm super excited! Just checked touring plans to see what their "best days" were for Jan 22-29, and the parks I'd planned for were on the Best list every single day! Woo-freakin'-Hoo!!! :cool1::banana: The days were rated as mainly 2's and 3's with Monday being a 1! Hope they're right! I would LOVE those light crowds. When we were there 2 January's ago, I thought it was pretty crowded most days, especially our DHS day. 19 days until I can let the cat out of the bag and surprise the boys! :dance3::yay::woohoo:

Hi all!

Well, we just got back from a whirlwind MA trip - in to Boston on Friday, my parents live in Central MA, and then Saturday and Sunday were spent in western MA. i got to (finally!) meet my niece, who is 8 weeks and 1 day old today. She was baptized on Sunday.

Here's an okay picture of us (there are better but I have to put them up, first):

In less than 2 months, I'll be back in Disney!!

I wanted to pick up a pair of mouse ears for her, but I was instructed (in no uncertain terms) to do no such thing. Does anyone have any other suggestions? My niece will be with us on a family trip in July, so I'd LOVE to pick up something goofy or sweet!

Oh Sarah! What a darling picture! :lovestruc She is just gazing up at you trying to tell you how much she loves you.

WOW Meghan!! I hope you win the necklace!!! LOL

That would be great! They didn't announce winners last night...I guess they contact you if you win something. Other prizes included a Vera Bradley tote bag, overnight stays at a few different hotels, a spa trip....stuff like that. My sister and I had fun!

Absolutely precious! I think she's saying "Bring me Mickey Ears!" :rolleyes1

Lookie what I got today!!!

Our Disney Tree!
DSCN2774.jpg

You can't really make out a lot of the ornaments, but they are all Disney!!

This is my early Christmas present!
DSCN2771.jpg

The Tinkerbell ornament sitting next to them is there because I dropped it on the floor (yes, after i'd had it 5 minutes!) and her head broke off!! So I superglued it on, but I'm afraid to hang it on the tree. The branches are not super strong, and it's heavy.

Sarah - that baby is precious!!!! I saw some cute onesies that had princesses on them - bought one for a gift. There's a pic in my TR somewhere!

Meghan - let us know if you won anything! That sounds like a fun night out.

I almost bought that same Tinkerbell ornament for DD--so cute! But I decided to get her a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse one instead. Sorry to hear yours broke! What are they made out of? Mine haven't arrived yet.

We also have a bunch of Dept 56...North Pole series, but none of the Disney ones. It's DH's contribution to the Christmas decorating efforts (I don't have the patience to unpack, set up, figure out all the lights, dust, repack, put away...ugh!). He just put them up Sunday night and they look really cute. Now I need to get the rest of our stuff out!

Hope everyone has a happy Disney day! :goodvibes

Sarah, the baby is adorable! And she seems to know you already! So alert!

I just got some good news, too. Our CEO decided to close on Thursday, 12/23!
So I have next week off (at Disney!), and come back to a 3 day work week! :cheer2: So excited!

Had to share! I finally finished my Disney scrapbook from our trip in January.
It took me a little over 10 months and lots of heartache looking at the pictures wishing we were back there or at least going soon.

On the bright side, Jason has told me that we can't plan another trip until I finish scrapping this one...well guess what honey!!!! I'm DONE!!!! Guess that means it's time to plan the next trip :thumbsup2

Sarah-what a sweetie! She definitely needs Mickey ears! We got some for Chase when we were down in January. They still don't fit him LOL

Changed our dates for Disney =). We'll be there 11/12-11/19. Since Chase spent his first birthday in the hospital, we'll be able to make his second something to remember! His birthday is 11/12.

So, so excited!!!

Kim - I saw your book on FB - so cute!!! I say start planning girl!!

Mindy - what a great way to celebrate a birthday!

Thanks, all, for the kind words! I think she's cute, too, but I'm biased. My aunt and I were "arguing" over whose baby she is. "My baby!" Instead, I promised my niece all sorts of fun things that we could do as she grows up. (And my aunt is likely to end up an extra grandma - she's already got 3, what's one more?! - because my aunt's family situation is a little weird)

Here's one of her really smiling at me:

There were a few of us who got grins from her, but mostly her parents, her uncle and myself. I figure that the uncle and myself must look enough like her parents to get happy faces.

Sadly, it's not worth the drama over the ears. She does already have a pink onesie with ruffles like a tutu in pink, but I'm sure I can find lots more stuff. She'll be 9 months when we all go in July (actually, to the day. Funny!!).

Sheree, love your new stuff!!

snykymom, hooray! I'm jealous. We get to work on 12/23. But my boss has decided we're locking the doors at noon. And going home at 3. But thinking about work until 4. ;)

Okay I think I'm all caught up with you chatty gals that have been working hard to get us to page 250! :goodvibes

I've been MIA but as you can see in my previous post it's been for good reason :thumbsup2 I've been dedicating my free time to scrapbooking lately. I'm so far behind... as always. :rolleyes1

Shelly- Send some snow down here for me! I am desperate for a snow day! :cloud9: And some cookies would be good too. ;)

Shawna- I pick up my copy of the book you recommended tonight! I think it might be perfect timing for me to read it. :lovestruc

Meghan- Such a good mama not partaking in those cocktails. :woohoo: Hope you win the necklace! I think it would go perfectly with your pregnancy glow. :goodvibes

Jenny- Have you decided how you're going to surprise the boys yet? :santa:

Sarah- Your niece is adorable! Do they not want you to get her first set of Mickey ears because they want to take her to Disney themselves and get them or are they just not Disney people? (*gasp*)

Sheree- Your Disney tree is beautiful! :santa: I just got a little 2ft tree for my daycare and am thinking of making it a Disney tree..each year collect a few more mini Disney ornaments until it's full. ;)

Snykymom- Congrats on the 3 day work week after Disney! What a treat!

If I get my way we're going to be there Nov 5-12 and we'll overlap you on Chase's birthday!

Oh the planning began a month or so ago...Jason just doesn't know it yet. :stir:
