Happy Wednesday everyone! Yup, I'm calling it Wednesday since I only have a 3 day work week! :woohoo: One day half way done and only 2 more to go before enjoying 4 days off!!!!! Poor DH isn't so lucky. He has off Thursday then has to work Friday and Saturday. :sad2:

I'm peeking at the Black Friday ads and debating whether or not it's worth heading out. :scared1: Target has a set of 7 Disney Princess dolls (like Barbie) for $39 instead of $59 and Emily has been asking for them for months. I'd have to head out and be back in time for Jason to leave for work at 7am. It sounds crazy but I just might do it. I've got to get a move on with Christmas shopping.

We're also talking about taking the kids to see Tangled Thanksgiving morning. :thumbsup2

What's everyone have planned for Turkey Day?

Hooray for a Snowbird DIS meet! :goodvibes

I can't wait to see Tangled!! It looks adorable (and I love Zachary Levi, the voice of Flynn). I think we're going to go the next weekend though. Our theater has a canned food drive 12/4, and if you bring in 5 cans/person, you get in free before 5. Cheap way to see a movie and help out less fortunate, too! You can bring in more to get a ticket to see a movie at a later time, too.

On Thanksgiving, we always watch the Macy's parade and eat cinnamon rolls (just the Pillsbury kind). We go to my parents house for dinner which is typically around 2:30pm. My sister and BIL alternate where they eat dinner every year. This year, they are eating with his family and then coming over for dessert with our family. We typically play some board games, watch football, etc.

Black Friday is a holiday all by itself. My mom and I go every year and have so much fun! I must say, I'm very mad at all of these stores opening at midnight this year (including Old Navy). It's ruining our fun! We typically are at the mall around 4am and it's always fun waiting for the stores to open. Oh yeah...ON is open on Thanksgiving this year again (select stores). The cool thing is, if you have an ON credit card, you get the Friday deals on Thanksgiving! My mom might actually run over there quickly for a few things.

Saturday is my 10 year HS reunion and I'm so excited! I've been helping with some of the planning here and there and it should be a fun night.

I don't know why the multiquote thing isn't working lately. Anyone else having trouble or is it just me? Plus when I type a reply it's super slow as if I'm some speed typer or something and the computer can't keep up???

Anyway... I'm super excited! I went to Target last night and got the Disney Princess Dolls! They were already on sale and then I used the 50% off coupon from their 4 day sale (ends today) and got the set for $27.50!!!! That's cheaper than the BF sale when they will be $39!!! My mom and sister and I are still going out Friday. I have a few things on my list but now that I've got those princess dolls there's nothing that I'm panicked over not getting. We're just going for the thrill of it LOL.

Meghan I agree- the whole midnight thing is throwing me off. I don't like it.

Anyone else realize that we are almost to page 250!

Mama Snowbird might have to make a new thread here shortly! :goodvibes

If I don't get a chance to jump on here later-

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Snowbirdies and their families!

(and a belated one to all my Northern friends that celebrated last month  )

Good score on the dolls Kim! Yes, I have the same issue often typing replies. I'm so impatient with the computer! It seems to take forever and then correcting a typo is a pain! I thought it was my computer, but it does it no matter what machine I use, even at work.

It doesn't seem to be doing it today.

Waiting for the bad weather to hit us this afternoon. I lucked out and got to work from home today. So I suppose I should get going and do it! Going to run to Target and get some cheap games too!

Hope everyone has a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Great deal on the dolls! I saw those when I was out with Madison the other day. Hmm...I might have to go pick them up! Although, I don't have a 50% off coupon.

The midnight thing stinks!

I've been having the same problem with the typing thing on the boards. I'm glad you said something because I've been yelling at my computer lately.

Meghan - I was just at Target and they have Toy Books with coupons in the store - maybe it's in there?

I got three Hasbro games - $7 each and then $5 off with a coupon! Two are for the kids (Battleship and Operation - DH suggested them - so I think he wants them too!) and one is for toys for tots (Jenga).

I'm just about done shopping for the girls. A couple of little stocking stuffers and maybe one more thing for Sarah. I will have to check my list (twice!). :santa:

Thanks Sheree! I'll have to check that out. Thankfully, Tony is getting out of work in a few hours so maybe I can hit up Target before I have to teach dance.

I wish we had Target! You lucky Americans don't realize how much better your shopping is!
Although I live close to the border, we don't travel across near as much as I spend too much $$$$ money! ;)

I thought I was done my Christmas shopping and I have been very good with sticking to my budget. But I do need to pull it all out of hiding and sort through it and make sure my list is done! :santa:

Ironically pulling them out and sorting is on my to do list... currently I have 5 -6 lists sitting beside me... better get going! :upsidedow

Just saw my ticker ! :scared1: it's under 2 months !

So that list of "what i need for trip" better get done soon!

Happy Thanksgiving, Snowbirds! :goodvibes

I just took the pumpkin pie out of the oven and put the turkey in. :thumbsup2 It's 13.4 pounds for just the five of us. Think we'll have enough? I do love turkey leftovers!

Thanksgiving is a little odd here. DH is at work, since it's not a NATO holiday. :sad2: He's planning to come home early. The boys are supposed to be at school today, but I didn't make them go. :rolleyes1 I'm reading online about where all the Black Friday deals are, but I have to figure out who will offer the same prices through their website and not just in-store. I hate to admit it to all the super-organized Snowbirds, but I've barely started Christmas shopping. The boys want some video games...and some more video games. They're pretty easy to shop for. DH has been talking about getting a new TV--we still have the old-fashioned kind! But it's been difficult (or impossible) to find anywhere that will ship one to our APO address. It might just have to wait until we're back in the States. :confused3

One of my college roommates lives in Germany. She called me yesterday and said they were taking a spur-of-the-moment trip to Disneyland Paris! They're going to be in the parks today and tomorrow. I'm a little jealous! We're going to try to meet up with them somewhere along their way home on Saturday.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! :flower3:

Happy Thanksgiving Snowbirds !

Being Canadian I have to work today, but I do have the luxury to work from home today!

Enjoy your time with family and friends, hard to believe we're closing in on the end of another year!

:goodvibesHappy Thanksgiving Snowbirdies!!:goodvibes

Our trip was great!! It was awesome finally getting to meet Shelly and her family...she is so sweet..and her boys are so cute!! The little one is a bit shy, he reminded me of my youngest son....I wish we could have visited longer..that's the only thing about meeting at Disney...you gotta work it in around sooo much stuff!!! LOL.

Weather was great, crowds were low...MVMCP was good, but we won't do it again...with us having so much time at MK and the crowds being so low, we didnt need those extra hours to get in rides. The parade was pretty!! But it's expensive!! So, if we go back that week next year (which Mike said he would be up for:cutie:) we won't do the party. Not sure if I will do a TR or just put up some random pics and little details here for you guys!!! It will be later...I have been running crazy since I got home, and we just finished our Turkey dinner!!!!

Welcome home, Shawna! :yay:
Glad to hear you had a great trip! We'd love to hear all the details (and see the pictures!) when you have a chance! :surfweb:

Hey Snowbirds! I hope everyone had a great, delicious and relaxing Thanksgiving! I know I did!

SHAWNA- Welcome home!! I'm so glad you had a good trip! I'd love to hear about it more and see some pics!! I was thinking about you often. I have been going through some serious Disney withdrawals. Crazy, since we were there just 4 months ago, but the Christmas stuff I really miss! Plus, you were there with us last December!
DH and I have totally been obsessing lately. It was a joke yesterday - we managed to connect Disney with EVERYTHING! The girls are starting to wonder when we'll go back, especially Sarah. They have no idea it's all set. ;)

I had thoughts of getting to Target this morning for one item, but it just didn't happen - the windchill was below zero!! So not worth it! Might go later in the afternoon just to see what's left. I had a different idea for a gift for my parents and it's also on sale (nothing that popular, so they'll probably still have it.)

Going to put out some more Christmas decorations today. :santa: We put up our Dept. 56 village and our big tree in the living room already. Have to decorate it yet. We are getting a real tree for the family room and it will be our DISNEY tree!!! I'm excited about that!

I think I'll try to update my TR too this weekend.
Maybe I'll start baking. Have to decide what I want to make this year. Any suggestions?
