Great QOTD...

5:45 pm...We'd be eating somewhere, as we usually schedule TS meals around 5:30 pm. Mmmmm! Maybe we'd be at Le Cellier, or Kona Cafe, or the Wave, or...
Let's go!

OOO dinner at Le Cellier sounds amazing!! I have never eaten there. Everytime I see a picture of the Mushroom Filet I wish Wonka Vision were real.

I have decided to change our trip again, and thanks to how persuasive I can be with my DH, I have convinced him that the trip would be more meaningful to go on Joey's 13th birthday than just a random week in December. Also it doesn't hurt that it would mean that we could go a month earlier. His birthday is November 13. We could wake him up the morning of his birthday and tell him we are going to celebrate his birthday. Luckily it looks like they have MVMCP during that time, so the decorations will be up. Unless, something else comes up, it looks like we will be at WDW November 13-19, 2010.

I want to be part of the Fairy Godmothers, too!!! What a DREAM JOB!!:lovestruc I actually starting writing out some tips for some friends, and it ended up being a 10 page (single spaced :confused3) mini-book. Once I started, I just had so much to say!

I've started to make my list of "must-do's" this next trip...Dole Whip (never had one), see Spectro Magic (never seen it), see the Lion King show at AK...then other stuf is just little stuff-Relax, walk around the Boardwalk at night, skip a park if the kids would rather just swim...basically just try not to do it all!!

I'm really stressing lately. I'm a part-time Realtor, and some friends of ours are looking at buying a VERY expensive home. We've looked at a few the last few weekends, and if they buy, it would be a REALLY nice payday for me! (Oh yeah, and a great house for them:lmao:). Plus I'd get to list their house, too! I know to never start spending the money until it's there, but OH, What I Could Do With That Extra Money...:cloud9:
Can I be the Massachusetts Fairy Godmother? Please??? :wizard:

Spectro is one of the things we always have to do at Disney! I had such a time planning it in January, once they cut the times! But we did make it, and we'll make it again in September! (And good luck with the house - my h is a real estate lawyer, so I know how hard the market's been!)

Kim, I love your kids idea to eat in-room with the pjs and watch fireworks...I have to admit that is why I am back on here....does anyone remember what time Wishes is when we all go? I was thinking they did it at 8. Is that right? I am working right now on preliminary park days/times. I have to schedule in one night to watch Wishes from our balconey... I would like to do it toward the end of the trip I think... I usually take that Thursday as a rest day and the kids play in the pool if it's warm & I do laundry...That means relatively more clean clothes coming home than dirties!! HA!! Okay, well, if anyone remembers the times for Wishes, let me know...if not I am just gonna plan on being 'home' in time for the 8 show!!!!
If I recall correctly, some nights it was at 8 and some nights at 9. I think it was at 9 on Spectro nights. Of course, that was so long ago, I could be totally wrong!

Has anyone heard from Soliel, Carrie(Peach3s) or trixiequilts? Are they not coming back because it's not a Jan 2010 thread? Just curious..I haven't been keeping up with that one...I need to...So, are the only ones of us NOT going back in Jan me, Shelly, and Sheree?

We haven't done a QOTD for a while, anybody have a good one?
I'm not going in January either. Just September.

My afternoon just went a little downhill. My husband called to tell me that his Dad called and they just diagnosed his mom with breast cancer. She didn't want to tell anyone until she knew for sure. She goes for an MRI and surgery Friday to remove the lump and they'll test it and determine if her lymphnodes need to be removed as well and if radiation is needed.

If you could keep her in your thoughts I would appreciate it. :flower3:
So sorry for your MIL and your H. This is really hard, and I hope all goes well for you all.

Question of the Day: It's 7:20 here; we'd either be going to dinner or eating dinner. We're late dinner folks. But it doesn't matter what I'd be doing - I'd be on vacation at Disney!!

Kim...good for you!!! I think this year the MVMCP start Nov 10. so, you should be good!!!! That is an awesome surprise!! You only turn 13 on the 13th
once!!!!! You will have plenty of time to plan surprises!!! Are you still doing the CR with a theme park view?:wizard: How cool! How did your friend and baby do today?

I am going to book it that way. I just think it would be easier to start out with a MK view room at the CR and bump down to the WL if we have to than the other way around. I think I'll get him a cake on his birthday which will be our first night there. I was thinking about having dinner at CRT for his bday dinner and either have a cake delivered there or to or room. That or maybe a Luau, but I'm not sure about how the weather will be in November. I don't know if it will be too cold at night to go to the Luau. I just need to sit down and start figuring out the ADR plan. The one I already have (and love) DH refuses to go with b/c it's for 10 days, so I have to loose a lot of credits.

Well I am happy to say that Texas has a new cutie and Baby Collin is doing just fine. My sister called and talked to the new mommy this evening and she was goind great. Thanks for all the prayers every one.:goodvibes

Which one is your son more excited about? That's the one I'd leave for last - I wouldn't want to "downgrade" and regret the move for the rest of the vacation; I prefer ending on a "high note".

And congrats to the new mom and pirate:!

QOTD: I know this was yesterdays question, but it's 12:11, here, Wednesday will be our DS day, so we'd be eating at Sci-fi for the very first time!!!

Oh, no we wouldn't be doing a split trip. The plan right now is to book the CR for the entire trip. If later we see that the extra $770 is just more than we want to spend then we will change it for the WL for the entire trip. My DH doesn't think we are going to be there long enough for a split stay. As for which one Joey would like better? Well he loved the WL on our last trip, and he liked the pictures of the CR he's seen and the idea of a balcony with a MK view. Honestly this kid is one of those easy going, go with the flow types and he would be happy at either one.

QOTD: I know this was yesterdays question, but it's 12:11, here, Wednesday will be our DS day, so we'd be eating at Sci-fi for the very first time!!!

We ate at the Sci-Fi on our last trip and our boys loved it. We didn't even have an ADR. We just walked up as they were opening and were able to get a table, and a car table non the less. We were in one of the first cars against the screen. My boys were in first row, my DH and I in the middle row, and a couple not with us in the last row. My boys loved getting a drivers license. Our waitress was great!! The couple in the last row finished eating, and got there bill before we did. The waitress brought it to them, and made a big show about how they didn't have to pay for it since they weren't triving, and then walked up to my DS's with the bill. She said very loud, so the couple in the last row could hear here, "Since you boys are driving you are responsible for paying for everyone's meal. Here you go boys". My DS's thought she was totally serious. It was so funny!! She teased them a little bit, but as soon as she could tell they were started to get really worried about it, she backed off and told them she was joking. Of course my youngest DS wasn't going to have any part of paying for their food. He informed the waitress, "that if they can't pay for their own food, make them wash dishes".

The only thing that my DS's (7&8 at the time) didn't like about it was they don't show a whole movie. Which I knew before hand, but they wanted to see an entire movie. John had more of a problem with it than Joey did. John at my point insisted to the waitress that if they are not going to bother showing a whole movie, don't bother with it at all.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers everyone. I'll keep you updated. DH and I are just realizing that we are in the stage of life when we have to think about our parents not being here forever. It's a scary thought.

Kim- Congrats on your new Texas cutie pie! I'm glad mommy & Collin are healthy and doing well. November for your DS's birthday sounds wonderful. Hopefully the decorations are up for you by then.

We just went through that with my mother in law. Honestly I love that woman as much as I love my own mother. My mother in law has always had PVC's (Premature Ventricular Contraction which is premature or extra heart beats and means she has an inregular heart beat.) She was diagnosed with congestive heart failure about a year ago maybe longer. Well the woman being as stubborn as she is ignored it when she got sick. Mainly because my father in law was sick as the time, but she's a nurse and should have known better. She ended up with really bad pneumonia and bronchitis that put her in the hospital twice. She is much better now, but has to sleep with oxygen and sometimes has to use it during the day. She is younger than my mom and dad (I know she's in her early 50's, but DH has my iPhone with him so I'm not for sure of her exact age) and she is in worse health than both my parents. Honestly it's one of the main reasons I keep trying to convince them to go to WDW with us. I would love my boys to have memories of going to WDW with her.

I hope they are up by then as well. I would love to see WDW all dressed up for Christmas.

Well unless you are staying until November 15 of next year, I think we will still miss each other by just a little. Wouldn't that be great though? To get to stay at a WDW resort for an entire year? That would be heaven. Especially if it's a MK view room at the CR and waking up to a view of the castle every day. No, but seriously, we're not going until 2010. You'll have to give me a full report on what it's like in November. We've only been in July (without kids), March, and October. I have no idea what to expect for the middle of November.

 Sorry, I thought you meant this year!

I will give you a full report on November if we get to go. I think it is supposed to be perfect weather-wise. Hopefully it won't be very crowded! :wizard:

We are not 100% sure if November is going to work out for us now or not. DH's work has been very slow and it is suddenly picking back up, plus his boss took an early retirement. So he may not be able to get the time off. :upsidedow If it doesn't work out I may end up being a January Snowbird again!

We're going to try to convince my in laws to go with us this January. We tried this past trip but they said no. Odds are they'll say no again but we'll keep trying. They've never been and I know my FIL would have a blast! They still believe WDW is an oversized kids amusement park :scared1: They are in serious need of a Disney education.

Well at least you're keeping the ticker websites busy by making lots of new tickers! We'd love to have you as Mama Snowbird again but no pressure :rolleyes1

Naptime is over ladies...check in later! Hope everyone has a wonderful afternoon. :wizard:

:lmao: I know, it seems like I am always changing my ticker!

I may be rejoining the Snowbirds after-all. Hopefully we will know either way soon. If we are going in Nov I need to make my ADR's on Aug 9th. If not, then I guess all I need to do it wait on a January deal to come out! :rolleyes1

:flower3:Kim(wookie) I think it's sweet that you love your MIL that much!!! She's a very blessed woman!

Shelly...the torment!!!! It's killing me... I know it's driving you nuts!!!! At least you are moved, tho'. You had a lot of decisions there for a while. We did go in Nov back in 02...It was great weather wise...I think my boys wore shorts the whole time...I was pregnant with #3,so I just did my maternity capris....but definitely short sleeve shirts!!! they swam too...we were at the Poly.. I thought the water was a tad bit chilly, but they liked it!!!! Would you not consider going when it's Dec and seeing the decor? (Can ya'll tell I want more of you to go when I go?)

Oh trust me, I'm the blessed one for having her as a mother in law. I often joke with my DH that the best part about being married to him are his parents. When I was put in the hospital when I was pregnant with Joey, I was at a doctor appointment when he told me I had to be admitted. Well my doctor's office was next to the hospital and my mother in law workes in that hospital. Instead of going straight to maternity to be admitted we went right to her office so she would go with us. She took off work and stayed with us in the hospital until I had Joey and my blood pressure got under control, so she took almost 2 weeks off work.

I swear ladies, this trip is going to be the end of me yet. DH literally just called me and said he's not sure about going in November 2010 yet. When he agreed to go, he didn't look at the school calendar yet, so he may still be in school. As soon as he gets home from his interview we're going to have to sit down with a calendar and see if a Novemer 2010 trip will work with his school. I can't look at it until he gets home because I'm not sure how many classes he has to take. I swear between my DH's job search and my ever changing trip, my DH thinks I have developed a stomach ulcer.

I'm not going back in January. :sad1: I know that I just went again, but I'd love to have another Snowbird meet in Jan! I don't have a QOTD, but I was wondering how everyone's summer is going.

Madison started soccer and swimming lessons the week we got back from our trip. She plays soccer on Wed evenings and Sat afternoons. It's a rec league and they play 4 on 4 with no goalie or official score. She has such a good time! She also loves her swimming lessons. Today started our VBS and it was so much fun! (We're doing Crocodile Dock) It's my 5th year volunteering and I always do games. It's so nice to be outside and not cooped up in the church all day. Madison has been going unofficially for 5 years. We have nursery care for the volunteers kids, so she did that for 3 years. She was finally able to fully participate last summer (the kids have to be 5yo by July 31) and had a blast. She had a great time today too. Plus, she started her summer Irish dancing lessons tonight. We're busy busy busy!!!!

My DD is is Croc Dock too! this week - she is loving it! :)

I probably won't do a PTR. I may do another TR after the trip! Have you decided when you are going?[/COLOR]

No we haven't "officially" decided. I think I feel safe with a Jan trip. I have a little stressor right now...DD's dad(my ex) needs to provide a letter to allow me to travel with her. So I don't book anything until I have that to avoid any loss in money.
As well DD requires a ultrasound next week due to a health concern - so depending on the results, that may postpone things.

We're also waiting on the orthodontist bill.

There has been alot of stressors in the drakes household.

I normally don't share this much on the boards, but I need to let it out, I find I keep it all inside - so many people think my life is perfect and I am so strong... if only they knew this is just the immediate things on my mind...

Thanks to those who are reading this :)

HA HA!! :rotfl: I say this too! :) I always tell my DH that I could never walk out on him because I love his mother too much! :lovestruc I have the BEST MIL in the whole world!!!

My girls are doing Crocodile Dock next week! They are so excited to do Day Camp at our church next week! I was asked to volunteer but I am being a teeny bit selfish and taking the week for myself! ;) 40 hrs of kid free time! :cool1: I already have a list a mile long of things I want to do and accomplish! :goodvibes
