Oh my!

I was just dropping by to say Hello! My goodness Shawna! What a frustrating situation! :headache: If you guys own the lots then you SHOULD definitely put up NO TRESPASSING signs (or at the very least NO DOGS signs!) Do you not have poop n scoop bylaws down there? Up here nobody is allowed to leave dog ppop lying around! Most people in our neighbourhood are excellent at picking up their dog's business! Good Luck with that situation!

I posted this on the January 2010 board but thought y'all might like to see it too!

This is our tentative itinerary for our January trip! Please tell me what you think!

January 26th

arrive @ MCO 12noon
catch DME ~1230
arrive POFQ ~1ish (I do know it might take longer - just hoping!)

130-3pm check in, settle in, explore, grab a bite if hungry
3pm - catch bus to MK - do whatever we can, stay and watch Wishes!

January 27th

9am rope drop @ EPCOT - do as much of FW as possible until about noon.
12noon - head into WS and head to our 1pm (hopefully) ADR @ Le Cellier!

After lunch poke around WS for a while until kids are DONE and then return to POFQ for some quiet time. Swimming if nice, playgrounds if not!

6pmish - head to DTD by boat for some food and shopping! perhaps eat at WPE/ EOS.

9pm - boat back to POFQ

January 28th

9am RD @ Animal Kingdom

Get FPs for DH to ride EE, KS, Train ride to Conservation Station, Kali (if warm enough), LUNCH @ Pizzafari/bbq place? , the trails, and maybe 1 show (saw both last time) maybe hit the boneyard for a bit and do Triceratops Spin (was closed last time)

leave AK by 3pm - return to POFQ

Hang out at POFQ, maybe explore POR a bit, hope to have a ADR @ Boatwright's this evening!

January 29th

930am - thinking of doing Pirate Cruise at GF for the girls (they are both Pirate Crazy)

noon - 8pm - MK! do as much as we possibly can and hopefully have supper @ The Plaza around 5pm and see Wishes AGAIN! (Wishes is DH's #1 request for this trip as he was not able to see it in it's entirity last time)

January 30

Sleep in on this day! Head to a Character breakfast for around 1030/11am not sure which one yet! I really want to try Chef Mickey's and DH wants to try 'Ohana but our kids are NOT Stitch fans so much so not sure if that will work out or not! Maybe the one at GF or even Cape MAy Cafe! Any suggestions?

1pm -9pm EPCOT

This day we will try to "finish" EPCOT! We saw and did a lot of the WS last time with a few exceptions. So our main focus this time will be Future World! We want to do supper this night at Biergarten! Of course we will be staying for Illuminations! We didn't see it last time as the girls were too tired! Hopefully they will make it this time!

January 31

9am Rope Drop @ DHS!

FP TSM and then ride Stand by! Star Tours, Muppets, Indiana Jones Show, RnRc, ToT (for DH- his #2 request) The Movie Ride for DD#2 and I really want to see Mulch Sweat and Shears! We hope to do either 50's PTC or SciFi for supper around 6pm! No Fantasmic for us! Too loud for DD#2!

February 1

Rope Drop @ MK (maybe a Character breakfast @ Crystal Palace)

Do all the headliners we may have missed out on on the previous 2 days! Stay until about 1ish then head back to POFQ to rest a bit and pack up! Head back to MK again around 430 and stay until after Wishes!

February 2

DME @ 945am - Bye Bye WDW!! :sad2: See you in March 2011 when we bring our WHOLE FAMILY!!! :scared1:

So What do you think? Any suggestions?? Any improvements? I am totally open to ideas!

It seems like every neighborhood has one, unfortunately. :sad2:

Can you do anything about her not obeying the homeowners association restrictions/covenants. Surely she had to sign something saying she acknowledged them when we bought her lot.

Yeah, you're right about every neighborhood having one. Our former HOA President lets her dog run through our neighborhood (and we're less than a block from a very busy street!) and crap anywhere he feels like it. Our neighbor confronted her and got an "oops teehee" in response.

However, unlike Shawna, he didn't get such wretched hostility in return!!!

Yes, she knows about the HOA, part of the deal when you buy out here. BUT,,, she has bucked EVERY rule/restriction we have so far..asking for variances, doesn't understand why SHE should have to go along with OUR stuff. She's just crazy!! She has threw little tantrums at the meetings and told us she doesnt have to do anything that she doesn't want to. Our only way to enforce things after letters, hand delivered or mailed, is to get a lawyer. I am not getting a lawyer about dog doo!!! Hopefully, God will have mercy on all of us and let her home sell quickly!! Ha!!!
I agree with Shelly... get some proof via photos.... or better yet... go to the empty lot with a shovel and pick up all the crap and drop it in her yard.... after all you would just be returning what is rightfully hers......
I agree.. I totally think you should return private property. What's crazy, is in the back of all our yards on this side, the city put in a small dirt road. its their easement and it leads to our detainage area and the city water tower all the way down at the fartherest end on the highway. She refused to put up her privacy fence (another no no...everybody has to have one) , but she will not walk out her back yard into the dirt road and let the dog go there. She just really likes him to go in our lots:confused3 Very weird because it' s literally outside her prop. line in the back yard!! She wouldn't have near the walk for him to go!!!
I know we have leash laws... but seeing as we all have small dogs, and no one elses cause problems right now, we haven't pursued it. I hate to though...it's just stirring the pot. But, I told the boys this morning to make sure Annie is on a leash from now on...she'll probably be watching with a telescope and camcorder to turn us all in from here on out!!! Ha!!! All the kids out here love our dog...they all come and say, where's Annie? We want to play with her!! I need to post her picture!! I think I have one!! She is on a diet right now!! I don't think it's working!!!!

Here goes...

015.jpg

that back flower bed is undergoing a transformation this summer...here we had just done our Round-UP, so, she always searches for Lizards that hang out back there...that was mid-hunt!!!! She is sooooo sweet!!!! A true weenie dog---she kills voles out in our other subdivision where the lots grow up!! We have just cracked up at watching her...to be so little, she is mighty quick!

Shawna,
Wow, that's so ridiculous. If you own the lots though, then if you say she can't let her dog go there, then she can't. Mention that the next time she does it, or take pictures, or something.
How frustrating!

I got some happy Disney mail today! My gift cards for my AP pass-a-long cards came. I am a little disappointed, because I only got 2 (which equals $50). Not terribly disappointed, or angry, but I'm pretty sure more APs were bought with my cards than that. (In short, a $25 gift card was sent to the AP holder for each AP purchased with their card. The purchaser got a 10% discount per AP purchased - up to 6 per card)
I sent out all 4 cards, so unless some people didn't use the cards at all I should have gotten at least 4. I have sent PMs to each of the people I sent them to so I can find out if they all used the cards.
I know I should be happy because I got any gift cards at all, but I figure if I can get more I might as well attempt to get them. It would definitely help convince DH that we should go to Disney again this year.

In other news, school started today which means campus and the surrounding area are packed. It's slightly odd to be here, and not be in school, but I think I'll survive. :lmao:

Today is my little brother's birthday, so we're having both my little brothers that live here over for Pizza and a Birthday baked good. (my brother doesn't like cake, so we're getting cheesecake)

I can't wait to go back to Le Cellier!!! What did you get?

Can I answer? I got the Salmon Two Ways both nights. One of the two pieces of salmon had this amazing barbecue sauce, so the second time I had both pieces that way. To my pleasant surprise, it came with a fried seaweed roll filled with rice. This wasn't listen on the menu, so I was thrilled when I found out that I got seaweed, a rare treat! :cool1:

And I got the Potato Gnocchi (delicious) one night and the Mushroom Filet Mignon the other time. The Filet was wonderful, just melts in your mouth. I love the chocolate whiskey cake for dessert. DD likes the creme brulee and other DD loves the chocolate mousse. MMM...makes my mouth water just thinking about it!

Hey, another highlight of the trip, now that I think back, was the Behind the Seeds tour. I have always wanted to do it, and it was very interesting. I really enjoyed all of the interesting information and the inside look in the greenhouses.

I also wanted to mention that we were very impressed with FL Tours. They were prompt, courteous, and I definitely would use them again.

Weelll...knowing this thread, we could probably at least do a page on Swordfish.

:lmao: I almost ruined my laptop- you made me spit out my water from laughing so hard! But yes, we could! :rotfl2:

I'll start... We had dinner at TGIFridays recently and they had a large blue sword fish on the wall above our booth. DD wouldn't stay in her seat because she wanted to touch the blue fish the entire time and DS thought it would be cool to have a built in sword.
Yup, you're right Becca, we can chat about any topic on here!

I first read this as "Swordfish Chat", and wondered what the heck it was. :)

Hello all.
:welcome:
I love your name.

Shawna your a better woman than I am. I don't think I would have been able to keep my cool. Also if you own the land you can tell her to stay off of it, including letting her dog poo on it. Do you have community areas like pools and such? Here if you break a HOA rule and don't pay the fine, you can't use things like the pool. If you can get a security camera that you can point toward one of the areas and and tape the film. Then you can send her a copy of the film. This way you don't always have to be on the look out to take pics. Also if she thinks your watching she may not let her dog poo there.

Whew all caught up! I had 2 new day care kiddos start last week and 6 kids just doesn't leave me too much time to DIS lately...or plan my trip! :headache:

Shawna- I hope your ugly neighbor/dog poop situation is over soon. We had one in our old neighborhood too and I feel for you. Now we live in the boonies and we get beer cans thrown at our mailbox at night. Always something!

My funny story tonight...DH just came in from the garage to find DD sitting at the kitchen island eating the peaches that are in the fruit bowl. EVERY peach had bites missing! Gotta laugh I guess. Not to mention the fact that it's 9:30pm here and her little tush should be sleeping by now!!! She must have been super quiet and sneaky because I heard nothing from my bedroom. :sad2:

I'm glad you didn't ruin your laptop. I almost stepped on mine today, because I was so excited about my gift cards.

I think it would be interesting to see a swordfish, but I'm not sure if it would freak me out or not. On a Disney related note, am I making this up or do two swordfish fight in some Disney movie?
I am thinking Bedknobs and Broomsticks, but it's also possible that they did that in some un-Disney related movie, and I am attributing it to Disney, because it was animated, or it could have been a dream...

oh, and I totally forgot. The boys had their first day of school today. We got them both there on time, and Joey even had his trombone. We always get them doughnuts for their first day of school breakfast. John had a super awesome day, according to his teacher. They should be in bed now, but DH had school tonight so we are just now eating dinner. I made Schwan's stuffed season parmesan chicken with pasta, and it is almost done. I made the mistake of cooking angel hair pasta with regular spaghetti, since I wasn't paying attention. I just hope the anel hair isn't too over cooked.

I also got 2 cards, but I know that at least 8 APs were purchased. So I sent Disney an e-mail per the instructions on the passholder site.

We'll see what they say!

And I have no words of wisdom to contribute regarding swordfish!

Hello all.

Ha!! How funny! Welcome aboard... and I know nothing about swordfish really...

How old do you have to be for that tour? My youngest is 6 and I really think they would enjoy it. I too looooove the filet at L.C. I can't wait!!

As far as the dog situation...she knows those are our lots...she bought hers from us! She did say she would continue to let him poop whereever she walked him to...and she ALWAYS walks him to the vacant lots. (Her words). Anyway, all we can do now is either Mike can call her and have screaming match #2, or we will have to put up No Tresspassing signs. Here's the kicker...she NEVER EVER waves at any of us on this street. Ever. Especially me or Mike..she either turns her head as far away as she can, or looks down to the ground...well, when Mike came home this afternoon he said she waved at him!!! Can you believe that. I said, are you kidding? what did you do? and he just said... I didn't wave back:rotfl: He's really a peacekeeper, so I am sure deep down it was hard for him.. But, he did say, She is NOT gonna talk to my wife like that and then wave at me like we're buddies! Ha!!!
Live and learn I guess... never come between a woman and her pooping dog!! Especially with trivial things like HOA or whatever!!!!:goodvibes
well, I had scheduled my kids off last week from school....we started back in July, but we started slow with History and Science (those are our 2 longest sub. each year), so after the 6th week we took one off. Any way, we started back today and added math and everything back in. It was a wonderful school day. They are very excited about their math, and since this first few days are very easy and review-ish....they feel confident! My dd is now in first grade and we did some math and lang...also voc. flash cards.. She is really doing well. I am proud! So, to heck with the crazy neighbors and people that refuse to like me even tho they don't know me. I know me, and I like me...and Jesus loves me!! So, I will be happy with that!! Oh, mike and the kiddos love me a lot too!!!
