Hello Snowbirds!

I've been out of the loop for a bit, as my sister and her family were here for a visit.

It was great to see them! She has two girls, ages 14 and 7, and a son age 12. Of course the cousins all had a great time together.
Rick, thank you for letting us know how you are doing. You continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
Kim, we are also praying for your FIL. A belated Happy Anniversary!
Wendy, I love your little Mickey!
While my sister was here, she mentioned that her husband had had a business trip to Florida in May, and she had looked into a Disney trip for all of them. They haven't been in quite a while (the 7-year-old has never been), although they have been to
Disneyland a few times over the past few years. Anyway, they ended up not going because the scheduling didn't work out. She said she was pricing TWO rooms at the Polynesian

and it was pretty expensive! Um, yeah! (they typically take pretty elaborate vacations and stay at nice places) Anyway, I suggested she look into a two-bedroom villa at one of the DVC resorts--that way they would have separate bedrooms and two bathrooms, but also a living room and kitchen (although she said they'd probably get the dining plan), and less expensively than two rooms at the Poly. I didn't even bring up renting points...she's not as budget-conscious as I am.

I don't have any experience with the DVC resorts though--any input? I know Shelly will warn about the far-away rooms at OKW.
DH and DS10 left this morning for Cub Scout camp. They'll be home Friday night. I don't think DS12 will admit it, but I think he will miss his brother.

I will miss them both!
This past weekend was DS12's Aladdin show!

We all thought he did great! It worked out nicely that my sister's family got to see the show also. DH and I saw it three times (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday), and we all went on Friday. Now I've got all the Aladdin songs stuck in my head.

Unfortunately, I don't think the experience will give DS a head start in landing a role as a WDW CM as Aladdin....unless, for the sake of diversity, they decide to hire a pale-skinned, freckled Aladdin!
