~Snowbird Chat 2~

Hello from New Orleans!

I will, from home, since that is all on my home machine! if you want to PM a reminder to me, I'll get it when I get back!

It was 5 when the airport shuttle picked us up yesterday. it was 71 and sunny when landed. Darn. Our cruise leaves Saturday and we're withing WALKING distance of the terminal!!
Have a great trip! I'll send the PM! (And you can tell me all about it!)

I've been avoiding getting lost on the computer to catch up on things around the house. One of my New Year's resolutions was to reorganize and clean out our house a bit. I've gotten lots done in the little free time I have each day but boy do I miss chatting on here and being lazy on the computer!

I love hearing everyone's travel plans! Seems like everyone is heading somewhere! We went today to reserve a site for the season at one of our favorite campgrounds. We're not going to take any big vacations for the next year and focus on doing updates on our house. We need a new roof and our bathroom desperately needs to be renovated.

Speaking of planning trips, I'm making plans of my own this summer. I'm standing up in a wedding June 28 in St. Pete's Beach, FL. So another friend and I decided that we are going to make this a 2 week road trip! We are baesball fanatics so we'll hit up some games on the way down and back.

that sounds like fun!!! I think that's a great idea!

Ooh, that sounds fun! You'll have to let us know who you get to see!

Hello everyone! Tony and I have been talking Disney a lot lately and that definately puts a smile on my face. Once we get our tax return, we'll be able to decide what kind of vacation we'll be able to take. Yay!! However, we won't be able to do anything too big for our 10 year wedding anniversary in April. I'm fine with that though, because a family trip is something we can all enjoy. We'll probably just do a dinner/hotel package for a night somewhere local for our anniversary.

I hope you're all doing well! One of these days I need to catch up on all of the PTR's and TR's I'm subscribed too! Ah! So much to do!

Wow almost a week went by with no posts on this thread. :faint:

Is everyone super busy or just fed up with the DIS running so slow??? It seems much faster at the moment, let's hope it stays that way. :wizard:

We are under 3 months until our trip!! :cool1:

When in April is your anniversary,Meghan? DH and I will celebrate 16 years on the 13th. A family vacation sounds just like what we would choose, too. I don't think we even had a sitter for our 15th last year.

It's annoyingly slow!

Congrats on your upcoming trip!! :dance3:

I'm just back from vacation. The morning the ship pulled back in to New Orleans, I woke up with a head cold. Better than while vacationing, but still an "oh, phooey" moment. Plus, I believe that something has regrown in my knee that may need to be removed. For the third time.

I've only uploaded two pictures from our trip, so here they are!!

Here we are in Tulum, old Mayan ruins (yes, in my Minnie hat!):

and here's one of a ruin with the beach/ocean background!

Sarah...love those pics!
Meghan,..our anniv is April 16th,...18 years!!! I asked him if he wanted just me and him to go to Disney for a few days and he just stared at me,...then he said in this awful voice:"you would DO that?"... I said, um, maybe, not sure how I would feel about Disney without the kids, but I guess there is no question how you feel!:rotfl: So,..i know that aint an option! LOL!!!
DD birthday is the 4th, so we will have her bday, then Easter, then our anniversary....then Mikes bday, then ds12's bday,...kinda packed for about 4 weekends in a row! And mothers day around ds12s bday weekend...trying to talk Mike into a European vaca this summer...will see...

Great pictures Sarah! :goodvibes Sorry you woke up sick your last morning and that you are having knee issues again.

Lots of Snowbird anniversaries this spring!! :lovestruc We will be celebrating 14 years in May. We kind of have an April/May packed full of celebrations too. DS12 will turn 13 on April 7. My b-day is April 17th. Our trip will be Apr 28-May 6. Mother's Day is in there somewhere. And then our anniversary on May 15. :faint: We are going to be all partied out!!

I'll throw in my anniversary too!

May 10 will be 15 years for us!! It always falls right around Mother's Day too.

woo-hooo!! All you birdies with your anniversaries!:goodvibes Maybe someday I'll get there... A co-worker celebrated her 45 anniversary today, my only question "how do you even like each other at that point" :rotfl:

April is a busy month around here for us. 4 birthdays (5th,11th, 13th, 16th) My friends bridal shower is April 1 (not sure if I'm allowed to have fun with the whole April's Fool's thing for her shower or not...I'm guessing NO). 2 friends birthdays thrown in there somewhere in April too (thank God for my calendar!) Plus this April there is a big possibility that I'll be heading to Minneapolis again for about 3 days to see the Red Sox/ Twins games again. So basically I need to request off for the entire month.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weather. Was GREAT around here today. Upper 40's. Should be continuing all week like this :cool2:.

Is this a private party or can I join?

I went to Disney early this month.....I loved it! I had a much better time than on my other trips!!!! So....

I'm Anna and I'm a Snowbird.

Our anniversary is April 27th. Can't believe it's been almost 10 years already!

I wanted to take a Disney cruise for our anniversary with just the two of us and I got the same reaction from Tony! He said all it would take is one look of another child on the ship and he would wish Maddie and Cole were there.

April sounds like a busy month for all of you. I have practically no special occasions in April. May and June are the big birthday months in my family. Though this year hopefully I'll be able to nail down a trip to Tokyo for April. Logan has been very noncommittal about the whole thing, which is frustrating. I'm used to having Disney planned out at least 3 months in advance, even if it's not a sure thing I like to book stuff to cancel later if I have to. Hopefully, we'll be able to schedule everything in a week or so.

Our big news is that Logan is getting medically transferred, so we'll be out of Korea during the summer, instead of November. I'm very conflicted about it, but Logan needs to be treated, so the sooner that happens the better.
The rumor is that we get to pick where we want to go, and while that's supposed to get us close to family, we're thinking Hawaii. Logan's condition is blood pressure related (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) and places with consistent barometric pressure are supposed to be the best. Hawaii is one of the best given that condition, so we're thinking we might as well try it while we have the chance. It's a hard decision, but it is closer than here, and I feel as if we'll see our families only slightly less than we would if we chose somewhere on the main land. We'll probably see mine just as much, because my Mom would move in with us if we let her. Logan's is a bit more complicated, but I have a hard time believing that they'd come to visit us much no matter where we are.

Hawaii sounds exciting! And you're right, it's easier to get to/from than Korea, so hopefully you'll see your family more often.

Becca - Hope wherever you end up, Logan gets what he needs for treatment.

I'm home with a sick kid today. Paige woke me up just before my alarm and said I don't feel good, right before she lost it. Right next to my bed...Oy. Must have had too many snacks yesterday?
Thankfully DH did a lot of the cleanup! That's usually my job! But I have a cruddy cold, so I didn't mind staying home today. Not missing much at work either - that makes it easier.

Hey Ladies!!!

Well, I am back from a most wonderful trip to the World!!! :cool1: I am planning on doing a private little TR just for y'all! :goodvibes

Jenny is in charge of our Photopass so those pics may be a while in coming but i will see what I dig up from my personal camera!

For now I will just say that it was a wonderful much needed trip and I have to confess that 2 trips in the span of 6 months has <gasp> cured my Disney itch for a little bit! :scared1: I know!! Crazy isn't it! I was shocked too!

Be back soon with a mini dining report!

Having major pc issues these last few days! :upsidedow
