~Snowbird Chat 2~

Hi Snowbirds..... my mother in law lost her battle with ovarian cancer this morning and has now joined her husband in heaven..... it has been a long year for my husband...losing both his parents in one year.... but now she is with the Lord and in a much better place.

Oh Wendy, I am so sorry!! We will keep your family in our prayers..I know she was happy to be rejoined with her husband and you will see her again!

Wendy, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mother in Law. You and your family are in my prayers.

So sorry Wendy. Ironically (or coincidentally) my mother in law also passed away to join her husband in heaven on Saturday. It's tough isn't it?
We will be taking an unplanned trip to Virginia next week as we have delayed the funeral until after Christmas to accomodate travelers (like us).

I'm home. Exhausted and drowning in laundry. Emily is sick with a cold. I'm feeling it creeping up on me but am just going to continue to deny that it is going to happen until I can't deny it any more. :upsidedow

Yesterday was absolute craziness. :crazy2: We got home at midnight Saturday night/Sunday morning. Woke to no food in the house so I went grocery shopping. Came home to find a message on the machine from one of my daycare families. She decided that her son did so well at her sister's preschool while I was gone that they are just going to keep him there. I now have 2 open spots to fill. I had a feeling it might happen since she pulled her oldest to go there in August but it's the second time this family has hit me with surprises like this on a Sunday afternoon. It would have been nice if they had let me know this was something they were considering. A little honesty goes a long way. Anyway... we went and picked out a tree from Home Depot and brought it home to decorate. Then we went out to get a few Christmas presents. I knocked 4 people off the list- only 3 more to buy for between now and Christmas. Came home to find our power out. Pizza for dinner. Power came back on at 8pm just in time for bed. :faint:

I miss DISNEY!!!!!!!!!

I'll give some details on our trip and share some pics soon...promise! We took over 1800 pics between my camera and Jason's camera!

Red- I ended up buying a plain ornament too. I couldn't find one that said 2011 either. :confused3 I may order one through Photopass with 2011 on it. Emily brought home the same souvenir as you. Poor thing sounds like a frog is stuck in there. At least you weren't sick on vacation.

Meghan- Cole is 6 months already? Wow! I think it's time to start planning his first trip to Disney!

Shawna- Happy 16th to DS!!! :bday: Hope he gets his license with no trouble! :drive:

Sheree I'm sorry for your loss too. Right before the holidays makes it even more difficult. Have safe travels next week.

Wendy and Sheree, I am so sorry for your loss. I am praying for you both.

I just hopped on to say 'Merry Christmas'!

Hope you are all doing well!

I wish I had more time to keep up with my Snowbird friends, but my girls keep me very busy.:goodvibes

Sheeree so sorry to hear of your loss.... will keep you all in our prayers as you travel ... the boys have decided to wait until spring for a memorial service.

There is never any good time... seems harder around the holidays. Tim's mom passed with great strength, beauty and grace. While the last few months her body has declined she showed us all what a remarkable woman she was and what great courage she had. Tim was blessed to have many visits with her during the past few months. She truly was a wonderful Mother, caring Grandmother and devoted friend and will be greatly missed.

Its always good to see you here honey!! we miss you!! Are you getting the crazy weather we are? It will probably snow for you this week...

Kim..sorry you came home to the 'real world' so suddenly-it's worse after all the disney perfection! I know the Lord will send you the families you need..and if not, He has a reason and you can trust in that!! Do you take Echinacea? If you dont, you need to get some of that and even some Emergence-C for that upcoming cold...it'll usually knock it out pretty quick. when I feel that stuff starting I take the Echinacea & the first dose I double!! Cuz when I start, it's full blown by the next day or 2,...hope you don't get it and hope little Em is better soon.
My fridge froze up again yesterday, so it was off for a new one last night! I didn't want to spend the money right now, but I was super duper excited to get a new one! LOL!!! Finally got a 3 door....hope I love it as much as I have always thought I would!

I'm so sorry Sheree. I hope the girls are okay. Travel safe. You'll be in our prayers.

Soleil - so nice to "see" you. Thank you.

Shawna - new fridge for Christmas? I wouldn't mind one, but wouldn't want to be forced to spend that $$ either!!

Thank you all for your prayers etc. We are doing okay. It's sort of surreal right now as we are just going about our business. I'm sort of spinning - thinking of things that need to get done, lists to make etc. The girls so far are okay. They (lucky them) have never gone to a funeral, just a visitation, which I'm not sure they remember, and never for a family member. So I'm trying to prepare them, but not sure what to say. I'm a bit concerned because I don't know if they will have an open casket or not. That may freak them out, so I want to prepare them for that possibility. We did have to find Sarah some appropriate clothes last night - she has outgrown so many things!!!

Wendy - What a lovely thing to say about your MIL. She sounds like someone who will definitely be missed.

So, we carry on.

Sheree, sorry for your loss as well.

Just wanted to pop on and say, "Happy Chanukah!" to all who celebrate. We light the first candle tonight.

I can't believe he's 6 months old!!! I'm am definately ready to plan his first trip, but Tony (the money man) says we have to wait until we get our tax return and all that. We can always plan though, right?

Sheree & Wendy- So sorry to hear about your mother in law's. You and your families are in my prayers.

When I finally get more than a few minutes to myself, I do plan on catching up on all of the PTR's and TR's I've subscribed to. I miss the DIS so much!!!! Today is Madison's last day of school before Christmas and I'm going in to help with their party (love being a room mom). My older sister is coming over to watch Cole so I can go help. Today is also Tony's last day of work for awhile. He took off tomorrow and the 2 days after Christmas. I love having everyone home!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah to many of you Snowbirds!! Hope you are having a wonderful holiday season!!

Merry Christmas my Snowbirdie friends!!!! Hope you are having a wonderful time with your families!! Those of you who are setting out to travel...be safe!!!!

Sheree and Wendy - I'm so sorry for you losses.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We didn't do too much as far as gifts go bc we decided that our Disney trip was our gifts to ourselves. Then Christmas Day was my first Packer Game!! Mom, dad, my sister and myself all had a wonderful time. The tickets were actually a gift for my sister from a dear friend of hers. And we didn't freeze too bad!

Have a great day everyone!
