Hi ladies! I can't believe it's been so long since I checked in - where does the time go?! :confused3

The day after I last logged in, I went to Seattle for a long weekend with my husband. He stayed for the conference and I flew home alone. When I got to the airport for the return trip, I asked if there was anyone who had an aisle seat who wanted a window seat and they took my name down. Fifteen minutes later, I was asked if I was okay with taking an aisle seat in an exit row. For a 5 hours flight? Extra legroom? YES!

Looks like I'll need another minor surgery in 2012. Rats. I was hoping 2011 would start a trend of "staying out of surgery," but you can't have everything. And it's not my knee, which is doing great.

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season! I am in bakebakebake mode! :)

Bummer that you might need another surgery. At least it's not the dreaded knee again!

Whatcha baking? popcorn::

I did my online check in! I've packed just about everything I can except for the last minute stuff. I can't wait until Thursday when I have my first day off for vacation and can get the last minute stuff done before we hit the road!

3 more days!!!!! :
banana:

Hey Red - nice - poolside at AKL is one of my favorite places to be!!

Sarah - dang, not more surgery!!! I've been just slowly starting my baking. Don't want to do too much or I'll eat too many cookies! Must give them away!

Kim - WOO HOO!!! :woohoo: Two days!!!! :yay: Man, I wish I was going now. It's getting so cold here!!!

It snowed on Saturday and when we went out on Sunday the radio station that plays Christmas music was playing "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" and I totally am in the mood now!!! I'm getting most of my shopping done. Santa needs some help with one more gift, but just about everything else is done!! Have to do Christmas cards now. If I can figure out how, I'll post one here.

Kim, have a MAGICAL trip! pixiedust: Give Pluto a pat on the head for me!

Sarah...ugh, sorry to hear you're looking at more surgery. :sad2: I hope they're giving you a multi-visit discount!

As always, I am behind on my Christmas preparations. On the bright side, I think I'm not AS far behind as I usually am at this point! :upsidedow But my mother-in-law is arriving NEXT TUESDAY. We had invited her to come for Thanksgiving and she declined, but said she would like to come for Christmas instead! We hadn't planned on inviting her for Christmas, but... She is staying until Dec. 28. Unfortunately, DH will be working through the 22nd (and she will be offended that he is not taking more time off while she is here, even though we suggested that she come later and stay later since he will be off work the whole week after Christmas...) Sorry to vent a little! The kids' last day of school is the 16th, so the following week we can all (except DH) bake together and stuff.

My football team is playing in their bowl game on December 29 in...Orlando! I should just keep telling myself that I wouldn't really want to visit WDW the week between Christmas and New Year's anyway, right? Even if we were in the States we wouldn't be going, but here I can blame it on the fact that we are so far away. But next season they are playing a game in Ireland! :yay: We are definitely planning to go to that one! :cheer2:

Hope everyone is having a happy Disney day! :goodvibes

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. Just got back to AKL from MVMCP. Amazing! So much fun. I know some people say it's not worth it and all that, but it seriously put me in the Christmas Spirit!! Characters were great, saw Captain Jack, Jasmine/Genie, Aurora/Prince Phillip, Rapunzel/Flynn Ryder, Snow White/Prince Charming. Those were the main ones we wanted to see, so very glad they got done! Parade was fun, Holiday Wishes - GREAT!, Magic, Memories and You - pretty neat to see that.

Crowds have been pretty decent. First few days, rather chaotic, but things calmed down. At AK nothing more than a 20-30 minute wait. Hollywood Studios, did everything, TSMM was 60 minutes all day -so we did fastpass and our return time worked out perfectly with our schedule.

Tomorrow we return for a day at EPCOT which includes drinking around the world and Kim Possible (so it could be kinda interesting....:rolleyes1). Friday morning is breakfast at Crystal Palace then the day in MK...our last full day .

Weather has been FANTASTIC so far. Upper 70's and sunny all week. Today/tonight a little "cold front" moved in, so the party was chilly, but still only wore sweatshirt and shorts. Should be lower 70's tomorrow then warmer again Friday/Saturday.

One thing that I've noticed that I find odd, is that A LOT of the ornaments say 2012, not 2011. So I think I'll just buy a plain ornament and write 2011 on myself :confused3.

Thats all for now. Take care!

Oh yeah, Kim, if you are going to MVMCP bring plastic ziploc bags along. As we were leaving they literally filled 3- gallon sized bags for us with cookies....

Bummer that you might need another surgery. At least it's not the dreaded knee again!

Let's see. I've made banana bread, orange cranberry chocolate chip bread, forgotten cookies, cinnamon chip oatmeal cookies, and york peppermint patty brownies. I think I might make double chocolate mint chip cookies this weekend.

We have snow on the ground! Luckily, it's mostly stayed off the roads, which makes getting around much easier!

Today, I went to a milestone party that my work had. We came in 5 minutes late and the food was gone. Happy 10 years to me. Woo.

Hi everyone!!! So sorry for dropping off the face of the earth yet again. Ever since I got me new phone back in March, I'm not on the laptop that often. It's just not so easy to DIS on the phone, but Facebook and Twitter are awesome. I'd love to come on here more, but it's hard when I don't have a trip planned and Cole just wants to touch EVERYTHING when he's on my lap at the computer desk. I'm friends with most of you ladies on Facebook, so you can at least see what I'm up to all the time! :goodvibes

Cole is getting so big and I can't believe he's 6 months old already. Time is moving too fast! I just love this age and he is so much fun. The doctor thinks he's going to be a late crawler/early walker...just like his big sis!!! Madison didn't crawl until she was 7 1/2 months old, but walked at 9 months. Crazy!

I really do hope to get on here a bit more often. After Christmas I'd like to start planning Cole's first trip to The World. I have no idea when we'd end up going. Madison will be in 5th grade next year, so I don't know about taking her out of school. I guess it all depends on which teacher she gets. I know the wife of one of the 5th grade teachers (we're in MOPS together), so maybe he wouldn't mind her missing a week of school. :confused3 Anyways....I hope everyone is doing well. I miss "talking" to all of you on a regular basis!!!

Hey Ladies!! It's been a while!! I had my laptop in the shop, again, for the screen and I didnt get any notices because it had been so long....then it just hit me that I hadn't been on here in a while! Shelly...glad you are having such a good time in Disney...
Sarah,...YUCK on another surgery, but way to go on all that baking,...
Kathy,...UUMmmm.... sorry she's coming! :rotfl: Maybe she will find some things to sightsee and entertain herself a little!
Kim....it's almost here!! You are soooo gonna love the Christmas decor.!!!!!!I know the kids are excited beyond telling...
did I miss anyone?
Well,...since I have been on here, my oldest turned 16 on the 4th....I cannot believe that...he is taking finals at school this week,..so he has half days ...can go this week and get his license--hope he passes it the first go round!mercy--i will have a very disappointed kid if not!
Got most of my Christmas shopping done and have stuff ready for baking!!!

Hello everyone! Hope you are all surviving the Holiday madness.

We got home late Saturday night, and I brought home a wonderful souvenir....a nice little head cold. So I've worked for a grand total of 3 days since being home and have a running total of 37 hours in already. Holiday hours are killing me, and not at all helping me to get better.

I did find time to log into the Photopass and try to look through them. So 373 pictures later, I made it through them...:rotfl: Guess we are getting our $99 worth for that cd.

Again, hope everyone is doing well!

:flower3:

Red,...sorry you came home ill!! I hope you are feeling better today...that's a lot of hours when you are sick!!

Hi Snowbirds..... my mother in law lost her battle with ovarian cancer this morning and has now joined her husband in heaven..... it has been a long year for my husband...losing both his parents in one year.... but now she is with the Lord and in a much better place.

Wendy, so sorry for your family's loss, particularly so close to Christmas. May your memories comfort you in this time of grief.
